Thank Bill when you get a chance- if you can find time during your day of complaining about machine status and upgrades.

WELL EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS!

@Bill

Thanks so much! I'm really glad that you've done this for us, and am excited to see what's happening! Hopefully IIDX or GFDM...Tongue

Not that exciting, but Acme will be getting some slight upgrades before fall.  Hoping DM10, GF11 link up, and PopN at least version 5, hopefully better.  Yes, we all just left the IZ auction.  Good seeing you there, Metroid.

Aww, is it over? I was hoping to head over after work and bid on the 4th Solo :>

Which went for damn near free, btw. (Granted, it had a busted marquee with no artwork, which had been forcibly torn from the cabinet, might not even turn on and the actual stage was with another lot in the kitchen with some other junk that you would have to get along with it)

I figured that it'd be pretty cheap-- almost glad that I didn't end up with it given the condition you described, though. In either case, it's neat that you and Bill got to go to the auction. Smiley

As a sidenote, even if the machines weren't upgraded at ALL, having all of the old machines would be awesome in and of itself... I don't know about the rest of the players in the area, but I think that Pop'n 5 and GF/DM 6/5 are actually a lot of fun.

I went to the auction at about 2, after finding out about it through Seattle Weekly.

It was cool seeing all the old machines again, even if I didn't get anything. Tongue

Thanks, Bill, for all you do for the PNW community. It's really great to have such machines in great condition all the time.

also @matt
Nice catching the edit. Tongue I didn't want to start any more drama, and realized that you probably didn't want to with your comment either.

It was tounge-in-cheek to begin with, so no use in further fanning the flames, no pun intended.

The auctions were there and gone in under a minute for each machine. Stuff went pretty damn quickly. Of course, the stuff I wanted, Bill wanted as well, and you can see how that turned out. :) Better him than me for you guys though, because this would have gone directly into my house for SUPER SESSION. I do still want a popn' though. Ah well, some day!

Ah, Super Session. Gotta love playing VITALIZE! over and over and over and over and over and over again!

Seriously, that song is so fun!

How much was the Pop'n? I couldn't see it going for too much.  I also thought Illusionz once had a Pop'n Music 3 machine as well.  This is good news.

The popn5 went for $1250 I believe (plus 10% buyers fee, plus tax). The Popn3 was with a large lot with three pins that went for just under 8k before all the fees. It's very likely that the person bidding has zero interest in the popn, however, this was a phone bidder so we'll never know for sure :(

Hmm, interesting, I'd completely forgotten about this.
Well, it will be nice to have the option of going to ACME for GF11/DM10, that's for sure =D  I have to say I agree with Laura in that having a different GF/DM mix between ACME and Narrows would be cool/allow for more musical variety (and GF6/DM5 is an excellent complement to GF11/DM10 I feel), but then I've proclaimed that since forever.  In either case I wouldn't complain.
Well Bill, it's a wonderful surprise!  Much thanks.

Cool to see new Bemani stuff otw for ACME - thanks Bill for always doing your best to keep the Bemani fans up here in the area happy.  Just curious - so the DM8 that's currently at ACME is going to be replaced by a new DM10 and a GF11 machine added  (to be like setup at Narrows) ?   Any idea when we'll see the new machines in place?

thanks again.

Bill, I'm not sure if you've already purchased the DM 10th kit, but some guy on BEMANISTYLE is selling a kit with session hub.  I don't know much about the going rate of these kits, but heres a link to it if you wan tot check it out.

http://www.bemanistyle.com/forum/f48/fs-drummania-7th-10th-arcade-13544/

Also, I believe Pop'n 14 kits are pretty common right now in Japan...

The new Pop'n 15 Adventure uses new hardware, so all these arcades are dumping off the viper hardware.  I'll try and look around for a cheap kit.  Might be able to find some thing for like 3-4 grand.

Now that Gameworks has PnM14, I think it'll be great to have Pop'n 8.  I don't believe that licenses carry over to the new mixes, so we'll have the best of both worlds.

Also, If I could ever locate a BMIII the final kit, would you be interested in it Bill?
