That's Penny-Arcade Expo.
Anyone else going? I was planning on going up for just Saturday. My roommate just bailed so I've got room in my car too (BBH & Zeppy, I'm looking in your directions)

For those who don't know, it's the same weekend as Kumoricon this year due to poor planning, but it's Friday through Sunday and Kumoricon is Saturday through Monday. I won't talk more about it because I don't want to be nagging people to skip this and come to Kumoricon, but I figured people ought to be aware of this when planning for either, because I know a lot of communities (particularly this one) would typically plan for both.

Awh, bummer about the date conflicts. I didn't check them before
and I was semi-interested in checking out kumoricon because nothing else makes me feel quite as old.. or creepy
strike that, I guess there was going to Chuck E. Cheese for PIU Zero when I was still in NY

I'm going to PAX. Its worth the admission price for all the swag you can nab in the exhibtors hall alone.
Last year they had 4 DDR SN dedicabs on freeplay. I'm hoping something shows up again this year, but I don't see either Betson or Konami on the exhibitors list.

I'm definitely going. It was completely awesome last year, and there's so much to do, I was never bored.

2 things.
1. Totally worth PIU Zero
2. Most of the people who come to Kumoricon are between 16 and 26. Expand that to 13-30 and that's about 98% of the people there. You're in the older bracket, but not by much, especially in the game room.
If you do go for just Saturday, consider coming to Kumoricon for just Sunday. It would be $20 or $25 (can't remember which) and you'd be able to catch the Maniac and Team tournaments I
think
.
I'll probably go to PAX next year. I need to learn more about it though. At this point, I don't know if I'd really have as much fun there as at Kumoricon because the gamers at Kumoricon are mostly oldschoolers who worship anyone who plays DDR or has an NES or an Atari.

Intel certainly has a large exhibit; do they just like tossing money around, or do they have something coming up?

They have a lot to do with PC gaming. They gave out SLI mobos and stuff last year.
Oh yeah, some other new anime con is popping up in WA in November...
http://www.akicon.org/
I don't know much about it though. If they can get arcade games, I'll go.

November 7-9? Seems like a pretty random date there lol.
I won't bother with this one until they have some mention of gaming; anime is not worth driving 2 and a half hours and paying $100 (figuring in hotel costs) for.

They said they are on track to double their registration from last year, and again said they expect to crush last year's 37,000, so I think it may actually be 60k+.
Awesome.

45k = turnstile = one three day equals 3 people.
I'd say in ACTUAL people, around 17-20k.
Going to PAX, representing allgames.com and my show, Under Sedation Live.

I don't remember if I saw it, but did they have Guitar Hero Decades for the DS on demo? If they did, someone should get the set list for it. I dont' think its been released yet.

I saw Jon quickly, but was in a hurry to meet up with a friend, so I didn't have time to really talk. I saw some dude on a bean bag with a Bemanistyle shirt, I didn't who it was though.
