April 27, 2010, 10:50:30 AM - ORIGINAL POST -

We seem to periodically get a lot of posts regarding the sale or auction of various music game machines. I thought instead of continuing to spam up the general music discussion forum, I'll just post any Bemani auctions I find in here.

BLueSS Edit: Frequently visit https://www.cyberauctions.com/index.php for local auctions in the PNW area.

So, this is a pretty cool deal - ITG2 dedicab for $3k. Doubt it'll stay that low, and even if you win, expect to pay about $400 - $700 in shipping. Still, it looks like it's a decent machine in good condition.

IF ONLY I HAD A preg_replace('/(.{49})/u', '$1 ', 'JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBBBB')!!!!!!!!

God almighty I would buy that in an instant. I don't care how much it would be to fix it up if it needed maintenance, it would be worth it.

Edit: Sadly this probably will sell immediately, in the off chance it doesn't, everyone here should keep this on their radar

Since OpenITG has hit the scene, demand for ITG2 dedicabs has weakened a bit. Don't get me wrong, they still sell for more than any other arcade dance machine. But now that people can J-Pack a DDR machine with oITG, a lot of people are opting for that less-expensive alternative.

You bring up a good point.

That means my chances of no one buying this have gone up to 2%

Beacuse I would still rather have a Dedicab.

As would that remaining 98% of potential buyers.

As we are liquidating the assets of the Silver Coin mall arcades, there is a Max 2 going up on Epay tonight.  Starts at 150000, no reserve.

At our big arcade sale next week saturday, there is a Dance Maniax 2nd mix fully working, will be under 300.00.  If not sold by 2:00 P.M., it gets auctioned to the high bidder, no reserve.  But this is happening at the sale at our warehouse, not Ebay.

Bill, could you get me the details on this Saturday auction? It's next Sat, in May, right? Also, could I get an address, etc? Would I also need to have pick up or transportation options pre-arranged, or can I come with high expectations and order a u haul or something later that day?

Btw, I'm VERY interested in Dance Maniax. Please keep us in the know regarding this.

Yeah I wouldn't mind learning more about this big arcade auction.  What is all going to be available?

Found the auction!  Lets see if I can get some money together!

Quick details on the bankruptcy liquidation, I will make a more informative announcement this Sunday.
The sale is including inventory from the two closed Silver Coins.  Games, parts, furnishings, everything you would find in an arcade.  One day sale, cash and carry, so bring trucks and trailers.  All will be cheap as it must go Saturday May 8th.
We had to get an extra warehouse next to our existing warehouse.  3030 68th Ave W, Suite B.  10:00 A.M.  All unsold games by 2:00 will go to a 30 minute silent auction.  Everything goes!  Even some free stuff, like empty cabinets and non working games, so come early for the freebies.

Could you tell me if there's a Virtual On cabinet in the mix? <3

Tacoma isn't very far away at all, so U-Haul or whatever wouldn't cost quite as much when coming from Seattle or Olympia. Depending on the bidder(s), I may be willing to donate towards a pooling of contributions, to those that would be willing to split the cost of a bid.

Unfortunately, I highly doubt that the price will stay as low $1500.

No, no Virtual On in this sale.  Not a lot of bemani, just DMX 2nd mix, and para para Paradise 1st mix, but Para Para not working due to it's missing monitor.  If you have a monitor you can slap in this, it would be a good buy as it will be under 75.00, or even free if no bids at the auction at the sales end.

I wish you could finance shit like this instead of just having to pull $8000 out of your ass... I mean really, who has that kind of money just lying around?

ITG Dedicated Cabinets are extremely rare to see on ebay.

let me say that again

EXTREMELY RARE

$8000 isn't out of the ball park for one of these things.

And yeah, you do bring up a good point. If I could finance that, I would buy it immediately.

So I'm all the way in Maryland, crawling Google in search of Dance Maniax machines because I used to be one of like two people who actually cared about this game (see:
Dancemaniax - Talia vs Allen (1st encounter) 12-8-07
). I'm wondering if you're only planning on selling this locally...? I'm guessing shipping would cost as much as the machine itself, but god damn I miss that game.

I can vouch for this girl loving DanceManiax.  She's part of the DDR community back in my neck of the woods.  That video was taken at Tokyo Game Action before it went under due to flooding, and that community would be very kind to a DanceManiax machine.

If it must be sold at auction, Talia, I would be willing to head down there and bid for it for you.  Then if you want to pay me for shipping, I could send it down to you, if I could figure out a place to hold it.  Let me know.

looks like someone has a DDR X UPRGRADED cabinet.

I know practically none of us can afford this, but hey, might as well keep an eye on it and see where it goes right?

It sounds difficult and I'm not 100% committed yet, but I'm definitely interested... If it's going on sale Saturday, though, I have a LOT to figure out by then, like where to keep it until I have a permanent place to live and all of that. I'm not sure how to work out the logistics that quickly. Let me know if you have any ideas... And do you have any idea how much shipping generally is for these things? I'm assuming it's pretty high. I'd blow $300 on that game like it's nothing but if the shipping costs more than the machine I might have to reconsider until I find a local one.

With regard to shipping... I think that shipping costs are heavily tied to how the item is being shipped. If you're willing to take the slowest option (which might give you a good chance to figure out storage) it's probably not going to be that bad. I've never actually done this before myself, but I've heard that putting your cargo on a train to go cross country is dirt cheap. If I'm right about that, you'd just have to get a friend with a truck to drive you and your machine home from the train station. On the other hand, anything that involves a 3,000 mile plane journey for a large arcade machine is going to be ridiculously expensive, so you probably shouldn't even consider that.

I think it's so great that so many Bemani players have their own machines now. 8D

I'm asking friends who work at an arcade down in Virginia if they're willing to hold on to the machine for a year or two while I'm in school, and if not I'll try Pianoman back in Rhode Island (he has TGA's old IIDX machine, along with Drummania/Guitar Freaks). I know for sure that there's a train station relatively close to the Rhode Island location, but I'd have to ask about Virginia.

I have a little more information for you now that I've looked into it some more. Amtrak does indeed ship, though their website has very little information:

http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?c=Page&pagename=am%2FLayout&cid=1241267371736

This other website claims to know their rates, and the rates they cite are very reasonable sounding as far as I can tell. It also claims that Amtrak won't ship electronics, though:

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/767123/shipping_on_amtrak_the_cheapest_option.html?cat=3

Basically, I'd call Amtrak (their number's in the first link) and grill them a little bit before committing to anything. Or, rather, I'd suggest that someone else does - I'd just buy the machine without any plan and tell myself that I'd figure the details out later. Tongue

Do you know the approximate weight of a Dance Maniax machine? It'd be helpful in figuring this out. I'll try to call them tomorrow or something...
