True gerrak, but I really had my heart set on the few songs on my thumb drive and really needed a decent pad and bar to try them out on. Having a ton of songs is awesome and all, but if I have no familiarity whatsoever, I just find myself randomly scrolling with nothing to play.
Also, I noticed the song list is SIGNIFICANTLY chopped down when you select doubles... The songs are definitely catered to 4-panel players.
It's all good--I'll drive up there once in a while, but will probably stick with Narrows until the machine is fixed.
Thanks for the update!

Wanted to give you guys a heads-up: on the marathon Caddywhompus, the third song is supposed to be Changes from ITG1, instead it's some other song named Changes on the machine. This makes the course weird since the mods were designed for the original one.

When I was there earlier today the ITG left coin slot wasn't registering coins. There have been a fair number of issues with the coin slots. Is it possible to just swap them for a more reliable intake?

The coin slot has had many problems and been serviced and/or replaced many times. It never really breaks entirely though; if it eats your quarter, first try pushing the coin release. This usually makes the machine take said quarters. If this doesnt work, it means one or more coins are stuck somehow; pull out the coin thing just a tad (it's locked, but you can pull it out just a tad) and give it a GENTLE whack to loosen the coin(s). Don't hit it too hard, and don't repeatedly hit it, especially after it's taken or spit back out your coins, but this generally fixes it. Hope this helps.

These F-ing guys at this huge tournament in California in June want to use the resynced versions of ITG 1/2 for their crutch-ass tournament. Can we get these on the machine so I can jerk off over my scores too without regard for real skill in timing? I.e. "practice".
Also, can we PLEASE get the USBs fixed promptly so I can work on Groovestats before this tournament? It's actually been about 8 months now that it's been broken. I thought this was handled finally, as in, you said it was finished a month ago. I mean what is going on? "busy" is one thing, "complicated fix", understandable, but this should be done by now. I've had a couple HIGHLY experienced Linux programmers willing to look at it and you guys have refused any outside help, so please can we get this fixed already? If this isn't fixed by June I'd kind of like to just take the computer to Cali myself to find someone there to fix it, which would be a massive hassle and would leave the machine unplayable for that weekend
Not to badger you about it for the thousandth time...

In Gerrak's defense, it has been quit a long time. And he's been pretty patient and understandable (at least for Gerrak). =D

Thanks Suko!
No I really didn't mean to be mean or rude about it... I just now am starting to have major reasons to need that thing fixed finally, and the fix was supposedly done and ready to go at Sakuracon almost a month ago! Also my timing and especially my speed have gone up significantly since the USBs breaking and I'd like to get my GS to a 99.70 (i.e. top 50) before this tournament...
Though evidently theyre holding it on an upgrade cabinet -.- Which I hope isn't a POS

I've heard from some of the less-hardcore and not-so-regular attending players say similar things. There's just so many songs that they quickly get overwhelmed with choices. It sounds like a stupid argument to some, but I can completely understand what they mean. I have the same issue whenever I go play on Tom's machine.

If you want to feel less overwhelmed try just playing songs from the "Try to Quad" pack (and ITG 1-3 and Rebirth 1-2 of course!). These were hand picked by Laura, Tony, and myself (and probably a few others) as being some of the most awesome of the custom songs we've added! Or you can sort them by desired difficulty and generally look for good songs with 98+s on them (i.e. have probably been played multiple times by people). Anyway hope this helps.

Anyone up for some quality arrow stomp at Acme? I'm thinking about heading down there and actually playing the S.P.E.R.G.I.N 2 charts on a real machine as opposed to my home setup.

Heads up! The computer is having problems at Acme on ITG. Our techs were checking the pads in I/O test, as Allan called in a problem. Anyhow, the machine will not leave the test menu page. this per one of our guys who just phoned from Acme.
Machine is unplugged, does anyone know how to get it out of the menu? Even on reboot, it goes back to the same menu.

Tony hasn't updated yet, but yes - it was just the service button that got stuck.
(I believe that means the machine is fully functional again)

Since Tony hasn't posted here, I'll just confirm that the machine is working again on his behalf. He got some pretty beast scores yesterday.

I'll confirm that the machine seemed fine last night. (I didn't play on it, but it was busy for 60-90 minutes with people who play at double digit difficulties, so it must have been working.)

Pushing the service button a few times unstuck it. Holding down the service button causes the same behavior, definitely seems to me like the service button was just stuck, though it was not visibly jammed when I took a look on Sunday (then again, the service button does not move very far when you push it and the service panel is not well lit, so it could just be too hard to see).
I never posted about this, but I did test the new OS drive before I left a month ago and it wouldn't boot. I've remade the drive and have ITG running under the new OS on my computer, so I'm going to try and swap it in tonight. I'm only back in the area until tomorrow, so I'll make sure Jon knows how to fix it if something goes horribly wrong after I'm gone should I leave the new drive in place (that is, if it seems to work). Just a note before anyone gets their hopes up, I have not configured and tested USB drives on the new OS, since I can't until the drive is in the machine - it should work with just a little bit of setup time, but there's no guarantee. If I can't get USB working tonight, I'll give it another try when I'm back in town long term at the end of September.
FOLLOWUP: New OS is mostly working, but a couple things are a little finicky, so I reverted to the old OS since I didn't have enough time to resolve everything. Didn't even try to get USB working as I couldn't seem to get on to Boxorroxors today, and that's the only place with a USB setup guide (the site is, of course, working fine now that I've given up for the day).

Hello friends!
I've successfully added 15 songs to Gerrak's Pumpin Kicks, namely the following:
Horizon, 9 (Crossovers)
Mr. Simple, 9
Pina Colada Boy! 10 (...and when the sun goes down, you make my boobs feel round!)
Split the Atom, 10 (Tricky timing, teals and such)
Summer Kamp, 10
The Grasshopper Song, 10 (ling ling linga linga! Slow foot switches, ridiculously catchy)
Dreaming Snowdrop, 11 (Foot switches)
Fly High, 11 (Very good long song, mid 130s runs and purples)
Louder, 11
Love Mera Hit Hit, 11 (Foot switches)
Nervous, 11
The Sadness Will Never End, 11 (Dubsteppy and foot switchy)
Ala Rosso, 13 (Foot switches and complicated corner stomps in end-run, similar to Flash's Bring Me To Life)
The Battle of Lil' Slugger, 13 (Reasonably straightforward, 200BPM, no ridiculous runs)
Over Drive, 15 (Very 'tastefully' done 177BPM long runs, "candle-steps" especially, and generally well-written stream, no purples really. Not for the faint of will)
I hope you all enjoy

I think i spent a good 5 minutes just scrolling through songs and ended up picking an ITG2 song lol.
Anyways, machine ate a quarter again but seemed to be in good condition. Acme was sure busy for a wednesday night unless if it's always that busy.
