I have a better solution.  I keep looking for a GF for Acme, which i have been watching out for anyway.  And yes, the volume is able to be cranked up more at Narrows.

The unlocks do last a little while, at least a few weeks it seems.  Probably losing them on a Monday, when things are turned on for the later 3:00 P.M opening time.  There is a memory back up RAM that is not battery powered, and that is what retaind short term memory of the unlock settings.  Another silly design flaw.  Chris, if you are going Wednesday, we need to figure out an approximate time on Tuesday night, as I will have a better approximate arrival time for myself.

@Kevin and tada:
I wasn't discussing the beginner's mode aspect as an argument against moving the GF11/DM10 to ACME (in fact, I don't know where you got the idea that it was connected); I was simply saying it as an aside to people playing the game-at times I think people aren't aware enough of beginner's mode.  Ah well, it was a tangent. By the way, Drummania8th mix (at ACME currently) also has a beginner's mode, though I think tada is aware of that.  Also, I was saying the 75 cents and failing as in relation to Guitarfreaks and session play, NOT Drummania so much.  I think everyone can agree with me on the fact that Guitarfreaks, while enticing, is not a game a five year old kid could bang on randomly and pass.  So yeah, I think there were a lot of misconstrued interpretations of what I said 0_o;;; kinda weird, but I wanted to set the record straight.

I think the idea of getting a GF into ACME is good but overall I prefer the GF11/DM10 being at Narrows for the time being, mainly cuz I love the rockin' volume! =D And Bill keeps the machines well-maintained, even more so if people keep the service calls coming in.  Also it enables me to go to Tacoma on Fridays and hang out with my friend James who goes to UPS.  Anyhow...

@Bill RE: Unlock times:
At this point, anytime Wednesday after 5 PM would be ideal for me.  As of yet I have no interview times set up on Wednesday and let's say at this point I will not schedule any interviews any later than 3 PM on Wednesday; that way I can be sure I will be at ACME on time.  If we do set it right at 5 PM however, I may show up wearing a business suit, heh.  Ideally I would prefer 5:30 or 6 PM; hopefully traffic isn't too bad at that time (going towards Seattle; I know going from Seattle it'll be hell).
But yeah, anyhow we'll touch base again on that Tuesday.  Until then.

Hey Chris, oh no, my usual Acme time is between noon and 1:00 P.M.  I always stay off the I-5 anytime during rush hour to save time stuck in traffic.  By 5:00-6:00 P.M, I am usually off for the day.  But that is not really early, as I start work every day at 4:30-5:00 A.M when I first hit the office.  Yes, I am an old man who is in bed asleep before 9:00 at night, hahaha.

Hmmm, OK, well I could still do noon and 1 PM on Wednesday.  I could even stop by on my way to Seattle for any potential interview, so that's cool.  Noon to 1 is fine, just let me know when you have it more narrowed down.

EDIT: Alternatively, I could just write the code down here if you want to enter it yourself.  It's not like you need me there ^_^;;;

Awe yes, but still easier with you there, as you know the whole drill.  And besides that, you were bringin the hot chicks!

If you want the IIDX code entered, I could meet with you probably on saturday.

Does anyone here actually like Guitar Freaks? It's really no fun. A newer drummania mix would be way cooler.

Yeah, I was just hoping for the session machines to come to Acme so we could have DM 10th.

At a certain point in the series though (forgot which mix), the games simply won't work unless they're sessioned.

It's not just about what we like, though.  Guitar may be appealing to more of the casual players (especially with Guitar Hero out now), which helps bring in more money.  I personally like Guitar Freaks a little, and some songs just sound way cooler on it than on DM.

Are you sure? I've played single machines up to V. That would be a pretty dumb thing to do but obviously increases sales. Tongue Not like an arcade in Japan wouldn't have both anyway...

That's what Kevin told me.  If you want to kill someone, kill him. Tongue

I like GF way more than I do DM

I'd probably play about 40%/60% GF/DM.  As I've said before, some songs just sound so much cooler on GF than DM, and I do like GF somewhat, but I love DM a little more.

GH, DM > GF.
Hopefully a GH cabinet is made, that would be better than a GF here in the states. WAY better.

The problem with that is GH can't be sessioned with DM.  Unless they decide to session it with Drumscape.  Ewwww.

The chances of a GH cabinet are low, true, but common, it WOULD be friggin awesome.

The other problem is that playing Free Bird is the equivalent of like 5 full sets of GF (It is longer than Inori on RED CS, from what I've heard).  The average length of a GH song being close to the length of a full set from any other series lends itself to a poor AC port, IMO.  While I will admit they did a solid job appealing to their audience, long songs get really tiresome...

Also, a GH cab was made like a year ago.  It went through a one day test in England, IIRC.  Nothing came of it, except for complaints of song length (one song = one credit).

Dawn the Next Endeavor is longer than Inori by 2 seconds, but all of Guitar Hero's songs are freaking long.

So when, do you guys predict, will ITG2 drop to .75/3 songs? Amber brought it up back on ITGFreak.

PS: Bill, will you get rid of that Menu Timer already?!

The shortest song in GH is almost exactly 4 minutes.

Free Bird is 10 minutes long.

This is not an exaggeration.

LOL what the?  :lol: When was I "bringin the hot chicks?" ^_^;;;  Though I won't question my attractiveness...

RE: Liking of Guitarfreaks and the continued drive to bring DM10 to ACME.

I like Guitarfreaks a lot, it's a ton of fun!  And I won't hesitate to play it, especially if waiting for someone on the Drummania.  I've played GHero I & II, and I definitely see its "authenticity" and whatnot, but GHero will never have some of the cool songs and sounds that are on a GFreaks.  I like classic rock and whatnot as much as the next person, but...

Furthermore, I like GFreaks because I love to session play.  I honestly do not get as much out of GF and DM if I'm not sessioning.  This sounds a bit selfish but, I have friends I can session with down in Tacoma on GF11/DM10 on Fridays, and I'm quite comfortable with that...If the majority of you guys don't care for GF11 then I can't say I'd fully support a move of it and DM10 from Narrows to ACME...just seems like it'd be going from a place of "no love" to a place of "no love" so to speak,  machine treatment aside.  Of course, the move to ACME may convince more of you to get into GFreaks and/or sessioning...that'd be nice.

No no no, upgrade the dm8. Unless there's some shit with it being percussion freaks and you can't upgrade it.

Unless we upgrade to something V or after, I wouldn't like an upgrade from DM8th. =/ Reason being is that between DM8 and DM10 there are quite a variety of songs; if we go DM10 at ACME and DM10 at Narrows then, that's the same song selection.  And we'd lose a lot of awesome songs on DM8 that are not really fully recovered until V2 or, really, V3 (since a lot of revivals on V2 were unlocks over the e-amusement network so they wouldn't be on the core software).

And to this day, no mix after DM8 has revived Candy! =/ We'd lose that (yeah I know I'm the only one that really cares about that song but...)

V and after requires a hardware upgrade, which might make it somewhat financially prohibitive...
