Suko: the window's a little smaller actually, but having Marv timing and speed mods in increments of x.5 up to x8 really helps. I don't think I've improved anything but my MA since coming to Japan, the new speed mods just allowed me to do what I should have been doing the last two or three years.

Keby: OMG that stop trick was almost exactly what I was going for... I'd count to 8 starting from the freeze and then count to four when it ended. I think the first count threw me off though. And yeah I'll try the Yasu trick too even though I suck at it right now. Thanks dude.

Also yesterday was just stupid, in a good way. I was racing a friend of mine to 200; we both started at about 155 and he's sitting at 158 right now. I just got to 11 yesterday and figured I could close it out, even though I didn't really need to. As a result my back is STILL killing me, haha. Also it turns out that Tierra Buena MA ties an American record, which I'm pretty happy about.

Oh, you're playing on a Japanese cabinet? Well no wonder! I thought you were playing on a ridiculously well maintained DDR X cabinet somewhere in the US. This would've further impressed the hell out of me, since most US X machines are terrible.

If I had gotten all these on an American, Betson-made X cabinet people would honestly not believe me, hahaha. Yeah I'm studying abroad here and I found a machine for roughly $1 - 5 songs. With fans and good sound and good pads. And the mix is X. It's the right environment coupled with very good upkeep of a good mix. I'm more lucky than anything.

Encore is awesome, I would like to have that installed. I bet all the ITG fanboys would be pissed about putting anything with "DDR" in the title on the ITG machine.

We've got all the DDR songs (1st - SN2) on our ITG machine. I love it, but I have to admit that there're so many songs that it gets really difficult to sort and easily "browse" through the list.

Just to give you an idea, it takes us a minimum of 8 seconds to scroll through the "S" songs alone.

oh I'm not talking about putting it on the ITG machine at all. no no no. I'm talking about installing it on the SuperNova Cabinet. Encore has it's own theme and everything.

That's not as easy as you might think. Hacking an existing DDR game is practically the same as replacing the entire inner workings with a PC and running OpenITG.

I really doubt Bill wants to make his dedicated SN machine into a stepmania cab.

Oh really? I thought I heard otherwise. Maybe I heard something about the Marvelous window making it harder or something.

edit: actually no I'm pretty sure SN2 and X are both considered slightly (like, almost negligibly) harder to time.

either way idk what the fuck happened, in 2008 in America I had 6 AAA's, in Japan I have 102.

You guys know you can turn down the judging difficulty right? I know you all know that but no one mentioned it as a possibility. Might be something to check... Not that I don't believe all those AAAs hehe. Should play some harder songs than 7s and 8s though to be a well rounded player

No, you can't, it's not ITG. And I've AAA'd a lot of 9's and offsync shit, thanks.

DDR does not equal ITG

Honestly you sound like a ITG fanboy right now. Please do not start this debate.

Also for clarification, DDR has never had this option to turn down judgment difficulty nor will it probably ever.

You sure throw the term "fanboy" around a lot and considering I've played ITG seriously for less than a year I don't think I quite qualify, not that I really understand the term fully anyway. Seems like people here are turning into (or already were?) 10x the DDR "fanboys" than I toward ITG. Not like I don't play DDR, I play sets of SN every time I go and up until a year ago I was exclusively DDR Extreme. I'd just like to see more people at Acme again. DDRs got too much stomping out AAAs on 8s and 9s and the same old maxs as the only actually difficult songs in my opinion. But I guess I still play mainly for exercise which no one seems to do anymore, to each his own I guess. And I guess I could be mistaken over the timing windows; I just recall on an Extreme machine there was an option to turn it down. Maybe I misread it.

I know you can turn down the Life Difficulty so it takes more arrows missed to fail out of a song. That's probably what you saw.

Playing a game for a certain amount of time does not justify whether or not your a "fanboy" of it. Having the attitude does.

lol, I play this song WAY to much.

I'm getting close!!!!

I don't know about any of this fanboyism shit, all I know is that anyone who has ever posted a score on an ITG machine with a custom theme cannot really be expected to be taken seriously when they accuse a DDR player of hacking their timing windows.

Furthermore, if I was hacking don't you think I would have put up WAY better scores, lol? Like phenomenally better than 39p on an X-scale 9?

Also Keby where's that Max 300!?!?

Well, I thought the Witchdoctor score is impressive, but I forgot that most of you probably got it with the bar. I don't care if people prefer to use the bar or not, but no-bar does make getting some of those AAAs a lot more difficult. IMO, Witchdoctor is one of those.

Is Keby a no bar player or something?

And I dunno the only part in that song that fucks me up (the drills early in) are pretty easy no bar. You guys might not know this but I always play no bar after I get a great on something I've already flagged!

And damn, now I wish Witch Doctor was on X. x4 would be so hype on that.

Its not my custom theme it's Kevin's and it's at Acme Tongue And it's set correctly. And I didn't accuse you of anything, I believe others did. I just pointed out what I thought was an oversight which turned out to be mistaken. Chill the fuck out...

Today:

As if anyone cares anymore. Heh. Seems ITG is dead
