ORIGINAL THREAD WAS HERE: http://www.pnwbemani.net/bemani-discussion/pnw-simfiles/30/
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I figured I'd make a thread for those of us in the PNW who've made custom stepcharts. I'd like to see local charts posted here for download, review, sharing, and (hopefully constructive) criticism. I'd also like to see any custom charts from local tournaments eventually get posted to this thread too. I look forward to seeing what everyone has to offer.

I'll start things off by sharing two some charts I've recently written.

Update: You can find all my charts at http://techno-hut.com/download/suko_stepcharts/

Stamp on the Ground by Italo Brothers
Singles: ( 3 / 5 / 8 / 9 )

Summer party by Smile.DK

As always, comments, constructive criticism, and bug/error reports are always welcome!

P.S. You can find preview videos of most of my charts here:

Crystal wanted me to get Oh Oh Oh Sexy Vampire for our ITG machine. Can someone point me to their favorite stepchart for this song? I'd prefer it if it had more than just Expert steps so she could play it, too.

I can make you one Scott. I haven't seen any sims for those songs anywhere. I'm sure there out there, but a lot of the Pump PRO 2 songs don't have 4 panel charts yet.

Really!? I would have guessed they'd be some of the first songs to get copied over to 4panel. If you make a chart, make it tons of fun for someone who's around Crystal's level.

I might be able to get a chart done by this weekend, but that'll be pushing it. I'm also workin' on a new chart with a weird concept.

Keby, take your time. With all that's happened recently I haven't played dance games at all. There's no rush.

Sounds interesting but I'll prob cheat the hands unless theyre reasonable. You could also do corner stomp-foot switches! so upright upleft upright upleft at 16th note speed (or even better upright upleft downright downleft upright upleft downright downleft, that would be a horrifying nightmare of a chart). I'd be all over that shit hehe

I have another request to find a stepchart.

Dj Max Ikarus Seph103

I remember playing a stepchart to this song a while back and it might've been a flash chart, but I'm not sure. IIRC, it was an 11 expert? I could be wrong, though. Does anyone know of this stepchart or where I can get it?

Hello. This is Wes, aka Tyrgannus from circa 5 years ago. I have recently resurfaced and am slowly coming back into playing dance games again, however, if anyone here remembers me at all or anyone is still around from those days, then you might remember that I am primarily a step chart artist. I've never been a top quality player despite my passion and dedication to the game, though I've always had a knack for writing steps and some of my charts have been enjoyed by players throughout the community.

Recently, my hands are full with an absolutely colossal step chart project where I am creating a high-end ITG-like Expert difficulty tier for many DDR songs. This tier is mostly 9's through 12's with a handful of 13's and 14's and even 2 15's. This project decidedly does not include EVERY DDR song, but for the most part it should have everyone's favorites.

Literally, I'm writing over 500 singles and 500 doubles charts as there are 533 songs that I have selected for the project. They are NOT in the spirit of DDR but more in the spirit of ITG as I am not shying away from hands, mines, and rolls (though in my opinion I am not abusing them either.)

When all 1000+ charts are finished, I intend to release them to the greater community and hopefully people will play them, but seeing as I live nearby, I can use this opportunity over the next year to test songs.

If you are at all interested in these step charts, I can send them you're way early assuming I'm done with the specific song(s) or I might even put it at the top of my to do list to send it to you if I'm not done with the song(s). I highly appreciating testing them ON FOOT. Keyboard is completely different and you can't realistically determine stamina drain/technicality.

If you are at all interested in helping out with this project despite the archaic nature of doing edits to songs that are in some cases 10+ years old, be my guest! Different people have different visions and variety is the spice of life. In order to avoid doing the same songs I can tell you which ones I have yet to complete, you can pick some, and I'll make sure not to write those ones too.

Even if no one is interested at all at my project in either writing step charts or even just getting the similes for fun, then it would still be appreciated if you could some on occasion. I currently don't really know anyone in the scene so it will be very difficult for me to get any critical feedback.

Thank you for your patience reading that ridiculously long post.

Hey everyone. I just made videos of all my current charts. I figured it's easier for someone to watch the video and see it before they bother to download it. Here's my Youtube playlist for'em.

Also, I will be issuing a (very slight) revising to my "Suko's Super Stepcharts" pack soon. It's been about a year and I figured I would do some very small tweaks to a few charts (mostly timing and syncing). Don't worry, my best charts (Romeo's Dead and Stamp) don't need any tweaking.

Here's a preview of my project. Expert steps for both single and double on these. Payno attention to the official steps as well, I know it's a bozo nono, but I'm lazy and don't really care if I'm banned from bemanistyle frankly. Maybe this might spark some interest.

Hopefully you like these. I would love if people tested these, and my real dream would be to get some other people maybe to help out a bit with charts so that they all don't feel the same and I don't need to do such an impossible amount of work. Have fun kids!

Heh, good luck with that. Usually people are too busy making their own stuff. =D

As I promised, I updated a handful of my older charts to be.....better. It's mostly just a lot of little tweaks to improve their overall quality.

Also, I threw everything I have up to this point into a collection I've been ingeniously calling "Suko's Super Stepcharts". Brilliant, I know. You can download all my songs as a pack here:

I'm asking for anyone with some free time to help me sync up a song. I've done the best I can, but to be honest, this song is REALLY tricky. It's got some variable BPM that builds up and slows down (like Enchanted Journey or whatever on ITG Rebirth).

Anyways, I'm uploading the file, so please check it out and help me out if you think you can. Getting that variable BPM just right has been an utter bitch and I need to take a break from this thing. So, yeah. If anyone can offer some assistance, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'll take a crack at it tomorrow. These gradual tempo changes can be evil though, so don't expect any miracles

Other than the initial speed up at the beginning you didn't do too bad. I completely revamped the initial speedup and that was honestly the hardest part. It's a lot better now, though I'm going to put a couple tweaks on it since I'm a perfectionist.

Question: Did you want to keep the ending synced an 8th beat off such as Murmur Twins or FaXX or do you want me to sync it back to quarters?

I never even knew it was on the blue notes on my version. Are you sure this isn't something that happened during your tweaks?

I'd say do whichever you think is the better option. I'm gonna compare yours and mine and decide what I need/should change. If yours is super better than mine, I'll probably just use your changes outright.

Btw, the step patterns were in beta, too. So they're not finalized.

NOT my cleanest sync, but I think it follows the beat notably better. Those weren't the most intuitive tempo changes.

I'm using SM5 where every chart can have different syncs. Expert steps are my new sync while the rest are yours. You can compare and contrast this way and make educated decisions on where you want to keep the original sync and where you want to use the new sync.

I don't know if they file will work if you don't have SM5 since it does have different syncs for the charts though, but don't quote me.

Thanks, I've got SM5 on some computer, I'll load it up and check it out when I get home.

Edit: Ok, I got home and checked it out, but around Measure 6 yours starts to drift significantly. I've tried to tweak both yours and mine, but right now I'm just getting sick and tired of frickin with this thing. I really wish there was a way to do exponential tempo changes in SM. I mean, how hard is it to do something that takes a starting measure and BPM and a final measure and BPM and automatically ramp up the BPM changes automatically in-between those two measures!?

Ugh...I looked into ddremstudio (and I found a working download link on their FB page), but I don't know how to get gradual tempo changes to work with that program.

Tyr, if you get more time to work on it later, I'd appreciate more help. If not, it's cool. I'll get back to this eventually. For now, I just need to step away from this one for a bit.

Yay, lookin' forward to checking out that pack tomorrow.

For any stamina demons that would like to give this a try, I had been working on a challenging little troll chart prior to Sakuracon. Most of the awkward foot positions are on purpose, but I think I may edit this more in the near future. Would be cool if Tuan or Keby ended up passing it at the arcade XD

Like SFX, here's my "unofficial" first entry for SPERGIN 2. I don't think much, if anything, will change between now and the final release except for a slight timing offset nudge (if needed).
