Yup, that's right!! First Distorted machine in Canada, yay!!  Basically, the only reason we have Happy Sky here (at E-spot) is because of a funky dude named Landon who bought it on YAJ and then installed it for us.  Long story short, he's living in Japan at the moment so he will be buying Distorted and shipping it here very soon!! I can't wait!!  Hope you all can make a trip up for it =]

OMG UPDATE! (March 20)

The Tragedy!!

So basically, Landon had DD a while ago.. but he was waiting for all the acoutrement before he sent it!!  It's on the way now =]

YIPEE!!

Yeah but those Sacajawea and the Silver Dollars were never really marketed as a form of convenient currency; they are always marketed as COLLECTIBLE currency.  Like the quarters with different states on them, heh.  In order for a $1 coinage program to work you'd need to convince the mint that they need to drop this collectible stint on coinage.

Whenever I go to E-spot I drop in two twenties and walk around with my little pouch (it's actually a coin pouch in the shape of the piggy Monokuro Boo~) stuffed with loonies.  You can use them everywhere.  I never understood why the USA doesn't use 1$ coins.. fumbling with bills at a vending machine is difficult.. but then again your sodas are only like 50cents so yeah.. Edit:  Sorry, I'm not sure when it's going to get here.. but maybe not that soon.. since I don't think he's bought it yet and shipping is at least 2 weeks.. unless it comes by priority which is 4 days.

I don't know... maybe it's because notes are lighter than coins?  I doubt arcade gamers ever were the US Mint's priority.  We tried dollar coins with the Sacajawea dollars, but apparently people just don't like them.
They're the same size and twice the weight of quarters.  If you try to pay somewhere with a Sacajawea dollar, most people will think it's a quarter unless you point out that it's a dollar.
And while we're on the topic, if you want to get a lot of Sacajawea dollars, put a 20 in a ticket machine at a max stop in Portland and order a 2-zone pass.  If you're lucky, you'll get 18 Sacajawea dollars an some dimes and nickels.  If you're really unlucky, you'll get $18 in dimes and nickels.

I think the bank transfer from E-spot went through and Landon should be buying Distorted today.  Tentatively, this means it will be at E-spot in about a couple weeks.  I'll keep you guys posted.!!

Sweet deal.  I hope I can meet you when I go up there because you seem like a cool guy (and I guess Matt already knows you and Landon?).

I don't know Matt.. I met Landon around August.. he lived in Vancouver for 5 months and used to visit E-spot every week, we also hung out other times as well.  I've never met Matt though??  Only person from this board I've had contact with is KevinDDR, (he was at E-spot one time, but I wasn't sure it was him, I helped him bash the coinslot on IIDX) and Cynic (I met him at PAX last year).

Ah, okay, I just recall him saying something about trying to contact Landon, so I assumed he knew you guys.
I've met a couple people at E-Spot before, but I don't know who they are... well, one time I went there to see mazrim taim (who lives in calgary (i think) now), and there were a couple other people there, but this was 2 years ago.

I think I've seen Colin, but can't say for sure. I met Landon sometime last year as well and then kept light contact via AIM since. The main problem of course being that if he didn't happen to be at the arcade when I randomly decided to take a trip to Canada, then we wouldn't see each other ;D

Okay, got another question:

Is the US-Canada border open 24 hours, or only during certain times?
