Thank Bill when you get a chance- if you can find time during your day of complaining about machine status and upgrades.

I move that godai be put on mute.  Seriously, it seems like every post of his these days that's not a gaming accomplishment is a sarcastic suggestion whenever anyone posts anything he doesn't agree with.

The pop'n volume is fine, it seems to be fairly contained back there.

DM's snare is getting weak again, but more importantly the screen is extremely glitchy and flickers.

Is the volume better on Pop N now?  The techs said they turned it down on Sunday.  Hopefully to everyones liking now?

CSB> I'm sorry I told someone to fuck off because they continually make unwarranted, unprovoked, baseless comments towards me.  You'll learn someday.

mvco> I didn't realize the volume was turned down, but I was there last night and it was fine.
I mean it was fine before, too (nobody playing maximum tune or whatever ever said anything, and I had no problems with BM either)... but whatev.

Bill,
When I was there last I believe the volume was fine and that was Monday I believe, so things are A-OK here.  Thanks for checking into that.

Bill,
Was there last night to play GF/DM with BlueSS, Laura and Tony:

GF 11th
Left side/1P side speaker is popping constantly; at first I thought it was someone intentionally clapping off-beat to mess me up.
Left side coin slot is jammed REALLY well.

DM10th
Cymbal is particularly weak, red tom and snare seem a bit unresponsive.  Don't think there was anything else.

Best,
Chris

@Bill

Pretty much what he said. On DM, it would be cool if you could try to tighten up the screws holding the hihat in place. At Gameworks, it feels very bouncy, which is ideal for hard songs. However, at Acme and Narrows, hitting the hihat more or less feels like hitting a big pad of chewing gum.

Thanks!

@Bill: The Pop'n's music is great now!  Still loud, but not ear shattering like it was before. :-)

Anyone know when Initial D V4 will be at acme?

ID 4 should be a few weeks away.  We are getting hooked up on Segas first shipments.

Has anyone played GF the last couple days?  Our tech could not witness the "popping" sound.  Did it fix itself?  Input appreciated.  thx

I swear it's true; that's part of what makes Bill's arcades so great

As for the popping Bill; I will try to get to ACME sometime this week to check but I implore anyone else who can get there sooner to do so.  Again I believe you may have to be playing on the 1P/left side to really detect the popping sound.  You may also need to do session mode (?) but can't imagine why...I just know everytime I heard it I was sessioning and near enough to the speaker to hear it (ie playing a guitar).

I definitely noticed the popping sound on GF last time I was there - playing on 1P side.   It sounds like the left speaker has a bad connection or something.  The screen also flickers from time to time - sometimes it gets pretty bad - this also was happening on the DM machine.  As someone mentioned previously, the cymbal on the DM machine was getting pretty unresponsive, and the snare seemed somewhat inconsistent as well, although not as bad.

Some of our old machines here get that too...  I also see static on the screen and stuff like that.  Not sure what it means though.  It usually goes away after a while..

Straightedge-
Personally I like Narrows better than ACME.  ACME is much more cramped and I'm not as fond of the staff.  Machine wise, I can't speak for everything, but the Guitarfreaks/Drummania is now the same mix as the one at Narrows.  Big plus of ACME is it has a Pop'N Music cabinet.

Checkrox-
Yes there is static on the screen.  Couldn't it be feedback and wouldn't there be a way to repair that?
My main concern is we've had problems with the speakers on that guitarfreaks prior, so I wouldn't be surprised that this is a continuing problem of some sort.

I think it is interference or feedback from a messed up speaker, yes.  Sorry, but im not sure how to fix it =[

It sounds like those machines keep having problems consistently, I wonder what's causing it?

After a follow up check today, GF appears to be running fine.

They're from Illusionz. Take a guess. Tongue

Also, Bill, is IIDX in working condition at the moment? I'm probably heading down to Narrows next week with TheWiseFool, and would like to know if it's working or not.
