May 29, 2009, 10:39:18 PM - ORIGINAL POST -

We can add songs to the Acme Bowl ITG cabinet now.

I'm in charge of this, so basically this is how it works:

1. Post in the thread a link to the song that you want added to the machine. Make sure the audio is in the correct format, the SM file works with R21 syncing, and that you have a banner/background file if you don't want a generic one.
2. I'll play the song on my custom ITG build, and tell you if it's appropriate to add to the Acme machine.
3. Barring any weird stuff going on in my life, I'll add the song to the Acme ITG cabinet next time I do an update. This should occur fairly frequently.
4. If you have a song that you want added but don't have the file yourself (or it's a really common file), just post the song name and author and I'll look for it. I have all the DDR song packs converted for hacking, so that should be possible to add immediately.

Current Added Songs/Packs

There might be, but that would suck for cancelling out of songs like I do when I'm testing syncing. Theme will either be switched back to ITG3 or Empress tonight.

Actually I made a mistake! I forgot I had a bunch of homework to do tonight. I'm going tomorrow after school. Same difference.

Okay! I managed to get a USB drive to work eventually and then proceeded to install OpenITG Beta 2. It fixed all of the USB problems! Woohoo!

The game is also running the ITG3 theme again. Let me know if any odd things happen.

Woohoo!

Hopefully it won't reset to ITG2 when we reset the machine lol.
Anyways good news. Hows the IIDX empress theme coming along?

The Empress theme is crashing on the song select screen. I'm not sure why; I'll try and figure it out soon. It's a really really good looking theme. Judgments are totally different as well.

I rebooted the machine after it started up in ITG3 just to make sure that it wouldn't switch back. It worked fine for me, hopefully it does for you too. Also, be prepared to wait a while after the green screen shows up...I don't know what changed in OpenITG beta 2 but for some reason it hangs on a black screen loading FOREVER. Don't think it's crashed, though, it just takes a little longer to boot.

Also I am kind of really back into dancing games again so expect me down at Acme every week from now on. Cheesy

Hey, any way we can finish putting songs on the Acme machine? We seem to have forgotten about it...

Yeah! I'm gonna get around to it in the next couple of days for sure. I'm out of school now so I have all the free time in the world. I'm also playing again so that's an incentive. Tongue

Thanks, I just hope you actually get around to it Tongue It was months ago when we finally got even a few new song on there and it hasn't been touched since. I sorta wish I could just be put in charge of this machine seeing as I'm actually at Acme 4-5 times per week and have the drive to upgrade the machine, since Amber's basically gone and you've hardly played recently but I suppose that's up to Bill. I will post up a new list of songs to be added (and a couple keyboard charts from the Flash packs to take off/leave out) when I have the chance.
And btw if you ever need a ride down to Acme I'd be happy to oblige if it helps get the additions done Smiley

Maybe you guys could try my stepcharts and see if you like'em? If so, perhaps you could add those to the machine. I know Null loves my Stamp on the Ground and Summer Party charts, and he generally plays the same types of songs you guys do.

Yeah, I'm thinking about putting in a "PNWBemani Pack 1" kind of thing soon. I'll play through some stuff and add it ASAP.

I'd like to request Mwok's and Jimbo's tournament pack be added.
http://www.mediafire.com/?79xbjq15t3qdqc1

It's about 50 songs (mainly techno but some rock, pop, and video game tracks), ranging from 9s to 13s. Very nice quality I think; similar to the style from Flash's packs in the past.

Kevin, did this pack ever get on the machine?   If not we should hand the responsibility of updating the machine to someone else (working with Bill too on who that is).

I'll apply to be keep saker of updating said machine's with new songpacks.

I only frequent ACME once to twice a week on weekends usually, but since I'll be moving to redmond with a car I'd be more than happy to make the drive to put new songs on when people wanted. Even if that's all I went there to do. I wouldn't mind one bit. Smiley

I would happily help this endeavor as well. Be it making the changes myself or offering people rides to Acme or whatever.

I only have one request though.
This goes for whoever becomes responsible for putting songs on.

SONG PACKS MUST HAVE AT LEAST 10-15 songs in them. I think this rule should be obvious.
1 or two songs in a pack is kind of a waste really.

Acme's ITG will be updated to OpenITG beta3 (test version) when I get back from England on August 25. This update will fix I/O issues and timing should feel better. Requested songs will also be added. I believe I've fixed the issue with the Empress theme, so that might get added again as well.

Kevin, you said you were going to do this again but haven't updated.

Time to get someone else doing this.

"Time to get someone else doing this."

OMG DRAMA!!!111

In all seriousness though, if somebody who lives closer by/has more time wants to take over, that might solve some of the community's problems. Of course, Bill'd have to be ok with it...

Tony says he'd be up for it, but that he wants to talk about it more when I didn't just wake him up at 2:30 AM to ask that. Tongue

We still have to make sure that's cool with Bill, though!

I've offered for months, I live 10 minutes away, and I go 5-7 times per week. I would be happy to put new songs and whatever else on the machine if I were given/shown the means to do so. Or drive whoever's in charge down there if it's an issue. Again, I've offered to do this for months now, just ask.

That's a good point, Allan. You are the closest and most dedicated. Smiley

Are you going to the DDR National Tournament qualifier at Narrows next week? I'm sure Bill will show up for a bit, and we can all talk to him about it.
