Bill, can you please have Ghost Squad turned down just a bit? It's overpowering the volume of Extreme. Thanks

Hello Bill,
Long time no post.
When I was at Narrows on Saturday the 26th, multiple machines were eating quarters.  Among them, unfortunately, was DM10.
Called it in around 9:30 pm; problem persisted from 6 pm (but I don't think the front staff actually calls in the problems) according to out of order sign on machine.
Betting one of your reps got to it by now, but wanted to make certain.
Best,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Thanks for phoning that in.  I see service was there Saturday night, and there was a coin mech jam.  Sorry you did not get some drumming action.

Yo,
Quick update on conditions down at Narrows.
Drummania 10th mix:
The monitor is on the fritz.  1/3 of the screen is not visible and has been squished down into the remaining 2/3.  It is hard to explain but in short there is some problem with the monitor which makes it difficult to see notes.
The hi-hat is also becoming loose and I would recommend tightening it before further damage occurs.

Guitarfreaks 11th mix:
1st player (left side) controller's red button is getting sticky.  As of yet no misnotes, but could use some loosening to fix problem before it happens.

Tekken 5:
2nd player (r) side's joystick isn't working properly.

DDR 5th Mix:
Was on the fritz; inoperable and monitor was only displaying a test pattern.  Probably just needed a power cycle but wanted to let you know because I don't like to go around pulling power cords out of machines.

That's all I had time to check out last night.  Looks like Narrows needs some love!

Hi Chris,

that DM monitor was losing it's monitor chassis.  All rebuilt the morning after your visit.  Thx for the heads up, and always, keep the comments coming.   Smiley

Well, I know about 3+ years ago or so that was the reason MAX2 was there in the summers and it usually was in a Solo cabinet.  So maybe you just starting coming after that policy ended (if it had, I wasn't aware of it).  Of course, you didn't indicate the MAX2 was on a solo cabinet so we may be talking about different machines.

That said, did it replace the 5th mix?  If so, it may simply be the fact that last time I was there the 5th mix was messed up.

So Bill, is the 5th mix gone from Narrows?  Did it bite the bucket so to speak?

hmm yeah i didnt start going to narrows until like jan 2006. that was pretty much when i got my license. and yeah 5th mix is pretty much gone. at least for now

EDIT: hey chris max2 is in the 5th mix cabinet basically. and the 5th mix marquee wasnt swapped for some reason

Which still begs the question; is the MAX2 in a solo cabinet or not? (By solo I mean the DDR Solo Mix which has 6 arrows and a single pad).
Thanks,
C

5th mix has a major board failure.  A good Max 2 board is fitted in to that cabinet for now.  But if it proves popular, we may just leave that board in there for awhile.

If the pads are in decent shape, then I'm all for leaving it in.

The pads are fantastic. I have full combo'd many songs on that machine using severe heel-toe technique.

Saw the SFIV at Narrows yesterday Bill, sweet =D
DM and GF have been moved to the back, which is cool; could we possibly get a bit higher volume on the machines?  Now the air hockey tables and other machines are drowning them out just a bit.

Further both the hi-hat and cymbal pads, while responsive, have their rubber coverings coming off.  Not exactly certain the best way to fix that, but have to assume if it is not, then the pad and sensor can be more easily (and soundly) broken.
Thanks,
C

DM Hi-hat is non-responsive, requiring very hard hits and only once-in-a-while registry.
As of Sunday evening at 11 PM.
