This game is totally different from IIDX though, it features a touch interface very similar to EBA and Ouendan. It's ridiculously good though, and has been very well received by fans so far.

Woot!
That's good to hear.

Went to Acme on Thursday. Both DDRs are working fine, ITG's left side was atrocious. I played Wanna Do on Expert and I usually get a 98%+ on that song, I got 85%. Same thing for most songs. I was getting pad misses on the D, L, and U arrows. Didn't really notice the right one tweaking out. But my friends we're watching me and we all started laughing at how many arrows I was missing while I was hitting it dead-on both in timing and in pressure.

Blaz Blue is awesome.

It would be super hot if you got Technika. I'm giddier than a school girl going to her first prom over playing that game.

Yeah, the ITG 1P side is deteriorating rapidly.  More and more misses, it seems worse every time I go (6 times/week or so).  I was watching Daniel play some easier songs last night, and getting tons of random misses.  Also having issues with the memory stick slots, though that might just be dirty contacts, as inserting and removing the flash drive several times in a row clears it up.

On a brighter note, new contact lenses make for a MUCH better gaming experience, and last night I passed my first set with 33 ... feet... or difficulty... or however you'd classify it in ITG.  Yay me.

Yeah, I can confirm as well that 1P on ITG is having some serious issues. It seemed to be double triggering and all sorts of stuff tonight. 2P worked perfectly for me, though.

TGM is, as usual, in awesome condition. Cool! Hopefully it is getting enough play... I think that will improve after the Sakura-Con tournament.

That's all I played today, so I'm not sure on other stuff.

Am I the only one who is sitting here wondering how long it will take for a DJ Max machine's touch screen to start getting dead spots?  At the very least, the screen would need to be cleaned frequently. :/  I don't know, maybe I'm just behind in touch-screen technology and someone's designed an indestructible touch screen now, but last I checked, touch screen's aren't durable enough for Arcade use.

I'm sure the screen is pretty durable.  They've had touch related coinops for years (Megatouch, etc), I don't think they've had to many problems.

Also, this is some pretty unfortunate news, but Tokyo Game Action is closing its doors.

Might be a good chance to get some games though.  I know they have a lot of good stuff.

Hey Keby, it was nice to meet you at Acme the other night. Sorry I didn't see you before you left. Too bad there were so many people. I'd like to have played ITG with you, but I'm too impatient waiting in long lines to play a game.

Yeah, if you want a V3 or V5 upgrade kit you'll pretty much have to go through Andrea or TGA's liquidation (which is in essence going through Andrea as I recall they got their V5 kit from him).

Yeah, it was nice to meet you too, sorry I left in a rush, I had to get home to finish up homework for college. I'm gonna be down at acme this weekend again. Well I'm trying to go there more often because it seems that's where most of the community goes to play.

Went to Acme today.  Spent an hour pulling ITG apart.  Replaced a couple sensors, but honestly, they did not seem all that bad to begin with.  Please report current player 1 pad conditions.  They seem great to me, but?

thx

Yeah...one thing to point out! They do have either DJ Troopers or Gold, I can't remember. The important part is that they do have a game with the latest hardware so if you wanted to buy it and try out IIDX again, the TGA auction would probably be a very very good very very cheap place to get fully legitimate IIDX stuff from.

I lament that I'm not longer just a 4 hour drive away from TGA.  They had a Beatmania The Final that I would buy if it was on auction, but can no longer easily drive to pick it up

Kinda like how Sega announced they're closing 100+ arcade locations in Japan.. think of all those Virtual On Force machines going into the secondary market!  ...then think about how much crated shipping would be from Japan... ;A;

Try resetting the machine a few times (i.e. unplug the power)  Usually after one or two resets it seems to work for me for about 3-5 games.

Note: If my card is working and then I move my card to the other slot, or remove it because someone else wants to play a game, it will usually give me the "Bad Address" error when I try it the next time. So if possible, try not to remove your card in-between games for best results.

yeah i did do the reset thing many times and the only time i took the card out was when the "bad address" thing kept reoccuring and i tried to fix it by reinserting it which didnt work =(

Went last night, Amber was there and I watched her play for a bit.  Finally have a pretty good handle on what's going on, the sensors are actually TOO sensitive.  At least the left and down on 1p side are registering hits from other pads, which is why they're always "Decent" or "Way Off" and not "Miss".  The pad is activating from a previous hit on another arrow.  I have switched to playing on the 2p side exclusively (which works amazingly well!), so I can't tell you how common they are for me, but for Amber it turned several 99%+ into 97~98%.  Usually at least 3~5 per song, probably much more with someone heavier like me.

That would kind of explain why me (and my three other friends who're 6' tall) noticed this problem first. Though for me, I was mostly getting solid misses, not decents or way offs.

Are you sure?  When I saw you play you were getting tons of "Way Off" and I don't recall a single "Miss".

I think the DM cabinet really just needs a new hi-hat assembly at this point. I know those are kind of expensive, but that Illusionz one just keeps crapping out and those stripped screws or whatever just keep getting worse and worse. I know swapping the assembly makes a huge difference; GW did that a while back and their cabinet is much much better now.

Seriously, I would love to play DM at acme more, because it would be cheaper, but GW just has a better cabinet at this point.
I think the hi-hat is the only one that needs replacement. That and the bass feels just a bit loose....it works fine, it just seems loose, I don't know.
