for now, maybe just keep flipping the lights off when it's ITG time, and flip them back on when you head out.

This is basically what I've been doing, but they keep turning it back on mid-play, and in particular the owner sometimes looks a little pissed off when he comes to do it himself so I'm just nervous theyre going to punish us by turning down the machine or something  Angry

my next idea would be to just remove the lamp over the ITG game
I was going to suggest this but it seemed a little awkward of a request. In any case thanks for looking into the issue and I'm glad other people agree. Pretty much its unanimous from people I've talked to saying that the lights generate too much heat (and yes DEFINITELY will be a huge problem come summer) and glare on the screens. I think we've been able to list enough reasons why they should be kept off for them to hopefully listen, they realistically shouldn't need them on for 'security reasons' because it's still PLENTY light in there from the illumination from the machines themselves. As I said before, it's lighter in there with the lights off than the main area during their Friday/Sat night blacklight whatever events anyway, and you'd have to be (excuse my language) f-ing blind to not be able to see with perfect clarity with the lights off anyway. So thanks again for looking into it!

So far as I've seen, I think its entirely possible/probable the left side has given errors based on people I've watched, though I've not tested it myself. I had a 10000 combo yesterday so it's not really bad by any means but I know the right pad has given errors from time to time as well; my instincts on the few random pad errors I've had have told me its the down arrow. It may just be dusty though, maybe just getting close to time for a cleaning on both sides.

Anyway thanks a lot for looking into these issues!

While we're talking about little tweaks that might improve profits, I'm gonna come right out and say that I'd play DDR more if it weren't in such a noisy spot.  I'm pretty much entirely an aural player, so being drowned out by ITG and loud basketball game players kinda deters me from playing SN2.  I don't know if it's even possible to move it into its own corner somewhere farther from ITG, but I would definitely play it more if it were.  Smiley

As for air hockey... I agree with Tony.  Could be cool, but if the novelty wears off and there aren't four people around, it might end up hurting profits.

Service is going in tonight to look at the ITG sensors.  Probably one going bad, and sticking on briefly after you remove foot pressure.
My idea with the air hockey would be to add the 4 player table, move the old table to where that retarded Fireball is, and yank Fireball.  Problem there, it will be a bit cramped with the larger air hockey in the center of the room back there.

Tomorrow, the great Thomas Field (TMFG) and I will be going to ACME to break ourselves in, some rust to shake off. This'll be my first serious set of sets in a while since most of my training has been at a couple gyms these past weeks.

Hey Bill, just wondering if the DMV3 machine will be set back to what it used to be in terms of price and number of songs before it was out for repairs last time.   Thanks.

Yeah I asked about this a few pages back.  Kind of unclear what will happen-I'm fine with it either way.
Bill, it does seem the green/hi tom needs a look at. Monitor still needs to be de-gaussed as well on the DMV3.

DM could probably use a good going over in general - the snare and hat have been giving me a lot more trouble than the toms (the snare especially - on songs with a lot of left-hand snare work, I take a miss or two for every 5 or 6 proper hits unless I start hitting the snare as hard as I can)

So I noticed this when I was gearing up to play Heart of the Dragon, which is 5:24... Evidently the Marathon cutoff must be set to 5min because this song took 3 stages. Considering the 2-song is set at 3:30, wouldn't it make more sense to set the Marathon at 7min? Or hey, I'd happily settle for 6 or 6:30. Just think it's weird some people play 3 3-3:30 songs all the time amounting to 9-10min or so, plus song selection time, but my poor DF 5:30 takes all my stages Sad Was just hoping someone could make the change.

Thanks! Smiley

Is it possible to turn the SN2 volume up? I can't hear anything while ITG, GH, and the basket ball game are going off and loud people in general =P.

Anyways, thanks!

I'll be changing the Marathon cutoff next time I'm there - it's supposed to be higher anyway.  The 3:30 limit is supposed to keep sets under 10 minutes (I know 3x 3:30 is 10:30, but you'd have to carefully pick three songs between 3:20 - 3:30, it won't randomly happen) and I believe 6:00 is where it's supposed to be set, so I'll be bumping it up to 6:00.

Heads up,
ITG looks to be in good shape, and SN was turned up a bit today.  Please let us know if the SN low volume is still an issue.  THX

Aw damn must have just missed you Nimm!

BILL WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN US!?

The volume got nudged down in the last 2 days after months of it being absolutely perfect. Now hordes and hordes of high school kids drove me out of the arcade tonight because I couldn't hear anything...  Angry

Please please turn it back up.... Just a tad would be perfect.... It's not audible during the busy hours now... I know I called already but figured I'd forum post too.

Thanks as always Smiley

?  News to us last night with your phone call.  Will scope it out next trip out.  SN2 did get turned up a few days ago.  Is the result of that washing out ITG?
