Kevin, what are the stats on the RAM this machine takes? Bill's and mine are both original R1 cabs I believe. I want to buy some for my machine, but would rather not take it apart to check the MoBo. If you already know what kind of Ram it needs, that'd be helpful.

I've been messing with this periodically and so far I have been unable to find any reliable reason why the machine won't load certain songs. For instance I have significantly decreased the number of songs on my card (down to maybe 20 or so right now), but it still won't read certain ones. And some of these said certain ones I see on other peoples' cards as working just fine. I think it may just be that for some reason some USB drives work better/differently than others.
I've run into this issue as well, sucks because it means that the Taj He Spitz remix (and every song after it alphabetically) doesn't load. :|

As for the RAM the machine takes: 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200).

As for the USB issue, I'm talking to the openITG guys right now and we'll get it sorted out. If it doesn't work, I can always revert to standard R21 with the ITG3 stuff, but it will take a while to work it out. I think adding another gig of RAM will help, though, and as I said, I have another gig of RAM courtesy of n which I need to install. Can that count as a donation to the site for him? Tongue

Buying parts for a machine we all benefit from definitely seems like a good donation if I've ever heard one! I'll get him the status tonight.

I should've mentioned this a long time ago but I noticed how for each custom song it tells you the high scores for the folder name but not the .sm file like it used to. In other words, the high scores are based on the folder name. For example I can rename "Loituma" to "Infernoplex" and it'll show the high scores for Infernoplex instead of Loituma. Also one time on my card I replaced the song Blaze with a different version and it showed the high score for the old Blaze I had since they both have the same folder names.

get it, please. It's such a good game. It's the best music game that's come out in a VERY long time in my opinion.

One thing to consider is that it has Platinum Crew functionality in the US now. Platinum Crew is basically like DJ MAX's equivalent of e-amuse, and it lets you save scores online and access new songs, courses, and missions and such with a card.

I still have my card that I got from Anime Expo.
I think it also allows you to see leaderboards on songs. double check that though, because I can't remember for sure I'm right on that.....

As a matter of fact, we have been waiting for a good deal on one of these as the price drops and makes it less risky.

Okay, offical bad news.  The DM and GF boards are shot.  Corrupted hard drives.  I think we should at least try to get the DM running.  Here is the mission, would everyone please keep their eyes open for a used V3 or above board set for sale?  Please forward me anything you may see out there.

that game's something like 10k, isn't it?  It's a fun and very aesthetically pleasing, but I shudder to think the kind of maintenance costs it can incur because of its snazzy shiny touch screen-ness.

Tongue

However, I also add that I way play the crap out of it if it shows up somewhere.  It's a pretty amazing game.

I don't think any of the arcades in California that have it have had touch screen issues so far. At least the parts are easy to replace since Pentavision is very much an active company.

Bill, I'll have some information for V3 or higher stuff for you very shortly. Found a V4 entire board for $2200 but I think it's possible to get V6 for around that price with a little ingenuity.

Something new and different is coming to Acme in about a week.  It's not a Fussball table, and it's not an Air Hockey table.  But a cross of the two!  Will be interesting to see what the air hockey players will think of this.  Please post opinions once it's there.

Is it a giant arcade version of CROSSFIRE? Damn that'd be sweet.

It's a new product titled "Fireball".  It is from Medalist Marketing, which just happens to have it's headquarters here in Washington.  We are testing two units of this game after we pick them up in the morning.  One will be delivered Wednesday afternoon to the Summit Pub at 90th and Canyon Road in the Tacoma area.  The second should be at Acme this Friday when we are making a truck run up that way.  this way, we can test this game in an adult only as well as youth/adult environment to get a good feel for it.  Looks funner than crap, and I have a good feeling about it thus far.  But every time I like a game, it seems to turn out to be a pig.  We will just see on this one.  I am very anxious to get all of your opinions on it.

Other news, looking at picking up a V3 DM board set to at least get the DM back up and running.
