Yeah, Wednesdays in the future sound decent

There's too many DMAshura songs on PIU Pro 2.. like 4 or 5

I went on Wednesday. I think Pump Pro 2's volume needs to be raised just a little, having trouble hearing some songs. Also the 1P USB reader refuses to acknowledge my card, 2P is fine.

Couldn't get the Max unlock code in on Supernova 2, either I wasn't fast enough or I wrote it down wrong.

I like how during half price the multi-Donkey Kong and Galaga/Ms. Pacman get reduced to $0.00 per game. That's a pretty good price!

seems like the Pump volume is a little bit louder and DDR is way quieter. What is going on

The DDR volume is way quieter for sure, I also noticed that the screws on the pad were loose and actually coming out while I was playing.  I've notified them of both of these things so hopefully they'll fix them soon.  I'm probably going to take a month-long hiatus from Big Al's so they can get all the bugs worked out and so the popularity/crowding can die down a bit, >_>

In the times I was there, I never really experienced a problem with the crowd making me wait long on either of the machines.  Maybe one set wait at most.

The location of SN2 is the most problematic.  It's right next to the basket ball games and air hockey so there's the occasional errant ball or puck.  It's also right under a speaker of the house sound system.

I am new to 5 panel, so I can't judge against other pump machines, but this machine feels extremely nice.  Anything short of superb is clearly my own fault (it's a new machine, so I would hope so); the screen is beautiful and the sound is audible, besides the occasional noise from the roller coaster simulator.  This is what will be bringing me back into dance games.  I'll be setting up a USB thumb drive for the next time and try it out, but from what I saw last night others seem to be using it fine.

The same cannot be said about the Supernova 2 machine.  Like others are saying, the up arrow on P1 is very weak.  I checked the sensors by pushing on each edge of the arrows and the bottom sensor (which, to me, is the most important one) of the up arrow is completely non-functional; it seems that it will only trigger if you press hard enough to trigger the other sensors.  The other arrows seem to function, but all the arrows on the pad sometimes fail with light taps.  P2 seems to have functional sensors, but they also seem like they require a bit more force than they should and I have a lot of problems with dropped holds.  It certainly feels much worse than the Extreme machine at GK or the ITG 2 machine at Tilt (which aren't exactly top quality).  At the moment, it's hardly worth it when it's 50% off; however, it sounds like they might be getting an ITG2 machine (anyone know anything about this?) which, in my opinion, would be totally sufficient for most players' 4 panel needs.

There's no hiding that the SN2's pads are worn to crap.  The good news is that they're aware of it and I was told last night that they have new pads on the way for it.
Volume was actually up last night on SN2 as well.

On PIUPro2 the 2P USB port was working finally so that machine's now in perfect shape.

I went there last night to play and they've changed the location of the PIU machine, it's basically switched places with the annoying hammer game, see pics below:

Also, to the left of the machine there's a flyer pinned to the wall saying that management is thinking of having a PIU tournament and there's a sign-up list attached (which I forgot to sign because I was too busy playing >_<)

Awh, I miss the old position, but I guess this one will do a little better at attracting random casual plays

This right here summarizes the bemani community as a whole.

I haven't been there but I hope it isn't too quiet now that it isn't so acoustically isolated.

At least it will be much easier to play the routine chart for Pink Fuzzy Bunnies.

I work at Big Al's in the arcade and we just moved pump to get it away from the dunking aliens game which people were complaining about. The volume is unfortunately maxed out so there is not much we can do about that but it seems plenty loud in its new location. We ordered new panels and sensors for DDR which should hopefully be in next week. If anyone has any questions or suggestions please let me know!

Last time I was there (Saturday) P2's USB port was broken again.  P1 seemed to be working fine.

I just fixed it the other day. The cables kept falling out of the socket inside the machine but now I have it taped together.  Tongue

And SuperNova 2 is now fully unlocked.  Have fun tripping over yourself playing Pluto, Pluto Relinquish, or the Groove Radar specials

P1 USB is out now.

Also, sounds don't seem to be coming out of the left speaker on the top. I'm sure it's just another case of loose wiring in there.

P1 USB is working, but P2 USB is broken again and the speakers cut out intermittently (I was there for 3 hours and it only happened twice, lasting 2-3 seconds).

Both USB should be fixed permanently now, had to get new cables that wouldn't pop out. All the sound wiring appears to be fine, speaker might be going out since we have the sound maxed out.

Today we finally received the replacement panels and sensors for DDR and I have installed them. Game runs sooooo much better now and is actually playable and it looks a lot better too.

Wow, those are some nice pads. Probably the prettiest DDR pads I've ever seen. Good job with the improvements.

Btw, does it say "Freak your body" on the top of the monitor bezel? WTF Konami, aren't tween girls part of this game's target demographic?

Also, do those PS1 memory card slots actually have any use in SuperNova2?

Thanks! Now if we could only keep little kids from spilling things on the pads  Undecided

I don't know if the memory slots work as I don't have a card to test. If anyone wants to give it a shot lemme know. This is a extreme upgrade cab and they worked with that but from all the documentation I have found, SN2 uses a card based memory system? Maybe someone can enlighten me.

Memory cards aren't supported by anything past Extreme.

I think Avalon had the only Extreme with functional memory cards for playing edits, and of course that machine is gone now... (I believe the Hillsboro bowling alley has a cab with memory card slots but they don't work)

back on topic, DAMN those pads look clean

I'm just happy enough that the pads don't look indented anymore.

Wow!  Those pads are pretty sweet-looking, I'll have to come in during an empty-ish period and test them out. Cheesy

If you want to come during a empty-ish time, Monday-Friday 10am-4pm is really slow. Mon-Thur evenings are usually pretty slow too and Wednesday after 6pm all games are half off. Weekends are usually packed so I wouldn't recommend coming to play then.
