I had an idea a couple days ago.
DDR Olympics.

Our skill differences on DDR are too varied for a tourney, so let's change shit.

1. DDR Scrabble
-Regular rules, but pronouns and abbreviations that are recogniseably related to DDR are legal, and words with a base sum value of 15 (5+7+3) are automatically doubled, in addition to any other bonuses.
2. DDR FIGHT!
-Get a bunch of fighting games, and play them on some 9-button DDR pads (I'll make 'em).  
Suggestions for other stuff would be cool.
I think this would be a lot more fun for everybody than a DDR tourney.  Obviously, it wouldn't happen at GK, but I'm sure someone has a house we can use.

Pretty much everyone is a middle to high middle tier player in oregon with the exception of Tyler and MTJ. Everyone can improve to match each other's skill levels. It's just if you want to put the time in or not.

Yes, I have played it on MAME. A lot. But I also like to play the games where they were meant to be played, in an arcade. Where I can leave behind high scores that nobody will ever beat. The better question is if I like it so much, why should I only be satisfied with playing on emulators?

Shock Troopers is one of my favorite games of all time, and GK just randomly getting it out of nowhere earns them mucho cool points in my book.

Emulators can only emulate.  Being able to get high scores on an actual Joust Cabinet that stay there until someone comes along and beats them is a thousand times more gratifying than getting high scores one Mame using a keyboard.

I was gonna just keep lurking until I got my car situated, but that is an announcement worth posting about.
