Hey Guys!

On August 3rd there is a really fun, annual race at Stadium High School in Downtown Tacoma. It is a beautiful campus and if anyone is familiar with the film "Ten Things I Hate About You," this was the site the film took place!

This race consists mainly of stairs, 1,628 stairs, 814 up and 814 down to be exact, and people can come in a Pack of 3 or as a lone wolf.

Here is what our race route will look like:  Angry

The entry fee is $35 per adult, or $15 per Youth (8-17yrs) if paid before the race, or $50 on site. Also, it is encouraged that all racers be at race site anytime between 8:00-8:30 AM since the race is possibly starting at 9:00 AM. All proceeds are going towards Kindred Souls Foundation and you can find out more about them here:

http://www.kindredsoulsfoundation.org/

Kindred Souls Foundation is an amazing organization that help shelter animals, and help rehabilitate animals that have been abused and neglected. Our money is going to a wonderful cause, and every last donation counts so come race with us!

Here is a link to where the race is taking place and the rules that you must follow:

I know that finding where this race takes place could be an issue for some of you, so we'd suggest all those participating to meet up at my place and go from there. If you don't know where I live, PM me and I can give you directions. Also, carpooling is a fantastic idea! After our beast race to beat the stairs, we are planning on going to an AMAZING gourmet mexican restaurant called El Zocalo that serves the best Tortas in town. Here is a link to El Zocalo's Yelp page:

If you are interested in participating in an awesome race, and interested in giving to a wonderful cause, please register to race. Make sure to post below to let Abbye and I know you will be joining us!  Grin

I HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AT THE RACE!  Cheesy

For how brutal it was, it was still extremely fun. Very challenging, I felt like I was gonna die! I'm glad you guys told me about this, it was totally worth it. I'm gonna walk like a penguin all week at work, but still worth it! I'm going to keep an eye out for those pictures! Tell Nick to hurry, I needz them!

Had a total blast hanging out with everybody! The race was freaking awesome. It was nerve wrecking but having all those people there got your adrenaline going. Hopefully we can do this again next year.

Hey everyone,

This race was intense and insane... There were over 500 participants and we raised over $17,500 for the Kindred Souls Foundation!

If you are interested in the results of the race, here is a direct link to the page!

http://www.buduracing.com/raceresults/20140803_1172.pdf#view=Fit

Ctrl + F our racer numbers to find our times! As a side note, Michael was logged into the results page as Scott Ayers for this race for some odd reason...

Here are our racer numbers:
Michael (Scott Ayers) - 2516: 20th in the 18-30yrs Bracket
Josh - 2786: 21st in the 18-30yrs Bracket
Kevin - 2709: 4th in the 13-17yrs Bracket
Abbye - 2755: 8th in the 18-30yrs Females Bracket
Chris - 2692: 11th in the 18-30yrs Bracket

Overall Rankings:
Michael - 133rd
Josh - 147th
Kevin - 111th
Abbye - 61th
Chris - 88th

You guys can check out the link to see how many people were there and to see our times. I made a few adjustments to Michael's ranking considering he isn't in the 31-50yrs bracket like the results claim, also because he isn't Scott Ayers.  Roll Eyes

Also, another huge THANKS to our photographer and supporter, Nick for being there and cheering us on!
