Yo all, Tada and I felt we had hijaxed the "Do You Drink?" thread long enough, so here we are.

Here is the site of the place we're thinking of going:

www.sbkaraoke.com

It has prices, location, even English songlists for those of you not so into the j-poppin'.  Please take a moment to look it over and then answer these questions:

1) Would you be interested?

2) When would be a good time to go for you?

Thanks!

-Chris

@Tada: I have no plans for 4/14.

How does 4/14 work for everyone else?

Know when the video is going to be up?

Also, I so didn't think that anyone would take me seriously when I said we should put the remainder of the change in the pool for the next air hockey tourney. Cheesy

Well, it wasn't that much money and I don't think everyone wanted to stand still and deliberate over it so I felt it was a good suggestion which "gave back to the community" so to speak.

That's what I told everyone else... I know I don't look like him.  And especially not in those pics.

I personally think 4/14 is way too soon, because if it is too frequent it won't be as much fun anymore.

Yep.  It's one of their easier songs to sing, actually ^_^;;; K is freaking impossible, and Sailing Day is pretty challenging as well (though I can do it).

Six weeks from now is not enough?  From what AlphaConqerer said, he used to do this every week...

Besides, I think I'm going to be on hiatus from Acme for a bit, except when we have air hockey tourneys.

I guess I don't enjoy it to the point where I'd want to do it every week, or month for that matter. :-P

Six weeks might be enough... but would it be like every 6? If most people wanted to do that it works great, I just wouldn't go to every one (if it was every 6) because I'd just think it'd be too frequent [for me].

But it's not like you can't have one without me.

True.  If they're too frequent for you, you don't have to show up at every one of them.  I really think we should do this soon (At the end of last night, it seemed like a good number of us wanted to keep going), but not TOO soon.  I figured 4/14 is a perfect balance and doesn't conflict with anything.

Also, it's really not wise to extrapolate that the interval between the first two events is going to be the rough interval between every event in the future.

I think 4/14 is fine.  Not everyone is going to show up to every karaoke meeting and, personally, I think 8 is a good number to strive for with these things.  Since the system at this SBK place isn't very efficient for queueing songs, the more people we have, the more difficult it becomes to ensure everyone gets to sing, right?

Yeah, I used to sing karaoke 2-3 times a week on average in Japan, but that shouldn't reflect on you guys at all ^_^;;; and I usually went with smaller groups (3-6 people) in general.

Anyhow, what I'm saying is it's better to have slightly more frequent/lower turnout karaoke groups with varying members, rather than to have slightly less frequent/more populous karaoke groups with constant members.

Definitely true.  Those of us who want to do it more often CAN do it more often, and the ones who don't want to do it so often simply don't have to show up.  The big group thing also made me feel bad for going up so often, while other people just sat back and watched.

Also, on an unrelated note: I think we should reserve for three hours next time.  We went pretty far over the two hours we reserved this time.

Whoah, I'm late to the game... so I should just throw this out there: That was a LOT of fun. As for doing this again,

Ditto. I think smaller more frequent gatherings would be awesome for taking care of this. Smiley As for 4/14, it works for me.
