I activated it. Tell him to check his profile's email and make sure it's correct. Yahoo could have flagged the message as spam or something too.

Next time say what his username is, it makes it easier to find the user.

As for pointers to pass on to him: Firefox 2.0 - it has spell check built in. Either that or a dictionary. :-P

Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention that. xP

I don't think he even has his own computer yet.  He's probably coming from either the library or one of his friends' computers.  Maybe I'll give him my old flash drive when I get a new one, so that he can carry Firefox 2.0 (AKA spell check) with him wherever he goes.

Get him this version of Firefox then:

http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable

It's a tweaked version that is made just for running from flash drives, with optimization so it'll run better than just sticking Firefox 2.0 on a flash drive.

Cool, thanks!

Ever since I got my laptop, my Flash Drive's only really been good for transferring 4kb documents from it to a computer that's attached to a printer.

I'm looking at getting a 120 GB pocket drive.  They're about $100.

It's crazy how flash drives and hard drives are decreasing in price month by month. I don't think storage space will be a concern for computers in the next few years.

There are also tons of other programs on that site (and others) that are made for running off portable drives.

...while simultaneously increasing in size to +320 GB... hard drives are insane these days.

Yeah, I saw a 4GB stick about a month ago.

And I found a 2 TERRABYTE Hard Drive on newegg.
The 1TB hard drives are under $500 now and are only about as big as your average laptop, instead of shoebox-sized like they were when they came out in 2005.
I also found a 500GB hard drive that's designed to stack with a mac mini that I really want.  It's about $220. =D
