Yes. Unfortunately this is a side effect of https. If this affects the last post, you can repost and I'll delete  the old one. I do not know how to fix this. I may disable editing if users don't see my note in the site updates, or this thread.

That's a shame. I'm not faulting you over it, but it is an annoying bug.

Yep. We're running some old forum software that has had some modifications over the years. Without starting from scratch with the modifications and themes, we'll have to suffer with this bug; unless we have a good php dev here that can look through the forum code with me to find why this is happening and can fix it.  Smiley

The first version of this forum's version (simple machine forums v1) came out over 11 years ago, so several years ago all development went to v2 of the SMF forums. SMF1 hasn't received updates in a while, sadly; and the need to support HTTPS on the web changed drastically changed since the core of v1 was released.

I'd offer to take a look myself and see if I can find the culprit, but I did a bit of Googling, and it doesn't seem like it's easily possible to get a copy of the old v1 version (not that I'm really surprised at that).

The main problem is that the edit form tag doesn't respect the https (and goes back to http instead), which doesn't work because the cookies don't go across that change.

Yep, that's it. Smiley

Thanks for the offer to help. I can easily provide the forum's code for review. I just created a thread on the SMF forums to see if they can help point us in the right direction (or know how to fix this) as a starting point. I'm not a developer, but I know enough code to make things happen...  I'd be happy to get help with this.

Thanks
