I've added a new feature to the site: Arcade Check-ins!

INFO HERE!

Basically, you post a status to brightkite when you visit an arcade, and that gets posted to the internet and the forum thread for that location.

I have to add in each location's widget to the thread, so if you've been checking-in somewhere (or want one) post an update and I'll get the widget in! I tried to get the most popular places first.

For examples, visit Acme, Narrows, Power Play, or Gameworks threads.

You can also edit your profiles to now have a Brightkite icon next to the rest of your social profiles (see mine to the left).

Just click the profile link in the menu and go to "Forum Profile Information".

That's neat, but I don't have an unlimited data or text plan on my phone, so I probably won't be using it. Cool addition to the site though.

Suko, you can also Check-in via the web easily after you've gone/before you're going so others can see your check-in statuses.

Once you add friends, you can choose to see just friends and look-up if anyone's been or at the arcade.

Add me as a friend if you're using it too. Smiley  (haven't seen anyone yet)

Just registered and checked in as "DocZ" for Tukwila, WA (Acme).

Dr.Z, did you make your check-in public? I think it's currently private because I can't see it on the Acme Bowl listings.

Yeah. This last time I checked into Tukwila, WA. Next time I'll specify Acme Bowling Billiards & Evnts instead. It was actually easy to find by getting the first search result from "acme".

Has anyone tried this out? It's really easy to check-in via text message if you don't have a phone supported by an app.

Removed this feature due to lack of use. If it does ever come back, it'll probably be using Foursquare.
