EDIT: This has now been implemented, and the arcade forum threads have the machine details in the first post. Simply edit the arcade info over on Zenius-i-vanisher.com and the first post in PNWBemani's threads will be updated automatically. Smiley

Original Post:

So while this site has a method for storing machine locations at local arcades, it's not an efficient method for doing this at all.
Example: Acme Bowl (and note it's missing PiU and still has Drummania listed.)
http://www.pnwbemani.net/articles/western-washington/tukwila-acme-bowl/7

I'm not a programmer, so the odds of this site hosting a machine database beyond what we have on the Acme page above is very slim.

That said, there are several other sites that specialize in this:
Z-i-V: http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/arcadelocations.php?locationid=724
Aurcade: http://www.aurcade.com/locations/view.aspx?id=325
ArcadeFly: http://arcadefly.com/arcades/acme-bowling-and-billiards/games

What is the community's thoughts on the best way of keeping this information up-to-date? Instead of hosting the info on-site, I can use the arcade page to link to a profile page for an arcade hosted elsewhere.

This site's information is limited to only our members, which are fewer than these other sites. Aurcade has the appeal of not being tied to music gamers, so other arcade goers might update it more often. Z-i-V has the appeal of being a good home for music gamers and frequently updated.

Personally, I would have it grab the info (or just reference it directly) from ZIV's arcade locator. I know that ~2 years ago, an effort was made by the major websites to make that the prime Bemani/Music game arcade locator. It's not perfect/complete, but I sadly say that it's probably the best we can hope for now-a-days.

Take a look and tell me what you think of the first post in the Ground Kontrol thread now. Smiley

The arcade info is being pulled straight from Z-i-V.

Pretty nice. I like it.

Know what would be totally pointless and cool? Show the banner/logo for the machines that are listed. (i.e.) Show the DDR Extreme marquee or ITG2 marquee next to their respective games at a location.

I also think it would be a smart idea to show how recent the posted info is. Some locations are outdated and haven't been modified to represent the current conditions.

The "last updated" information is now added to the boxes. Smiley

Big thanks to Alan over at Z-i-V for helping to get the integration working right!
Please update the arcade database over on that site to help any visitors visiting our discussion threads here.

There are still several machine locations that only exist on this site, and aren't in Z-i-V's database. Please help report information on any of the locations that you can. Thanks!
