    Chris and Abbye Presents:

    THE TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

    I know that some of you have our numbers so feel free to contact us through text if you want to hang out some time...

    You won't see us on PNWBemani, at Narrows, or at ACME any longer...

    Just remember that there is more to life than arrows...

    Chris and I both have decided to look beyond them...

    Good Bye.

    @Nimesh

    Yay!! Chris and I definitely want to see you there.

    You can do the qualifier on any machine, arcade or home. I know that Laura put the Narrows Showdown pack on the one at ACME and the pack is also on the one at Narrows. Just post your score on bemani before the tournament Smiley

    I should probably note that at the time this was taken, the timing window at narrows was slightly easier than what is at acme now

    so I downloaded the pack but the qualifier wasn't in there? I realize that it's in PoC2 but shouldn't it also be in the pack lol? Now I have to download that pack and add it to the machine. -.-

    @Andy Burns

    Yeah Chris and I decided we didn't want the qualifier to be in the pack because we didn't want the same song to be an option for participants to choose from during the tournament. Sorry about the confusion.

    We hope to see you there  Smiley

    Hey everyone,

    This is Chris borrowing Abbye's account to inform you that the tournament has been CANCELLED.

    Due to recent events, we unfortunately will not be able to hold the tournament. With only a week left we've only received only a few preliminary scores and with a low player count, we felt that it was in our best interest to cancel entirely. We didn't have enough players to make this tournament pull through, thanks for your understanding.

    Thank you to those who've supported us.

    That's too bad. FWIW, I was still planning on attending and was waiting to get a better score on the qualifier before posting. It wouldn't surprise me if others were doing the same thing.

    Saddened by this news. Still, I trust y'all's judgement.

    Still looking forward to arrow smashing with everyone on Fridays (and others...maybe). This last friday we had a pretty good turn out and everyone was workin hard all day!

    Hopefully the tournament will happen at a later time!

    See everyone at the arcade sometime soon!

    I'll usually always be there Fridays. If you guys want to do a little something for the 15th since the tourney isn't happening, lets do it! Push it beyond our limits.

    Marina and I were planning on participating, we just hadn't submitted qualifiers yet.  Regardless, we might still come just to play for fun if other people are doing the same thing.

    Sad to hear you had to cancel Sad hope all is well.

    I cannot imagine why you changed it back from day-of qualifiers. I already told you guys this would happen if you didn't hold the qualifier day-of. No one wants to submit scores in advance, and it's not as fair or doable. Additionally, holding a qualifier day-of takes into account consistency and ability to perform under pressure, both important tournament qualities, while allowing players to play the hell out of the song and take their best attempt in advance doesn't take this into account and whence does not provide a proper ranking as to how players will really perform in the tournament. It also specifically disadvantages players who don't 'power game' the qualifier song as much, which has nothing to do with tournament quality.

    You can still hold your tournament if you just make the qualifier song played by everyone on the day of the tournament, like every single other tournament of this type we've ever had... ever... I honestly don't understand what happened here or why you would change it back, or why you would cancel it. One can hold a tournament with as few as four people, so lack of attendance should never be an issue... I also don't understand why you guys keep making changes and announcements like cancelling the thing without consulting me or someone else who is knowledgeable first, despite our numerous conversations on this point...

    If you would like me to take over, I would be willing to run the tournament on Saturday for you, subject to the rules listed above, as well as the qualifier song to be played on Saturday by all participants for preliminary seeding no later than one half hour before the start of the tournament, and a prize pool distribution of the entry fees of 40%/25%/15%/10%/10% for the top 5 places, respectively (to keep it casual!), rather than any gift cards. Hence, there would be no requirement for early submission of scores or anything, everyone would just need to show up and play! Well?
