Simple question;
What was your favorite arcade to go to?
Mine would have to be the
Bumpers arcade at the Palouse Mall in Moscow, ID
. It isn't much to look at and it certainly won't take your breath away...But it's where I "matured" as a DDR player and I've met so many people there and have such good memories of the place. Everytime I go back to visit I get hit with a wave of nostalgia as I walk through the doors. Many good memories with lots of friends, fun gatherings, and a very understanding and friendly staff made this arcade my favorite place to go to, 3 times a week, for 5+ years.
So what about you? What is your favorite arcade?

Tokyo Game Action. =(
The place was truly amazing. There were so many bemani games, and even better, there was a great group of people running it, a good dance game community, authentic Japanese food, and so many memories. I definitely miss that arcade.

In Portland, I'd say the best overall arcade is still Ground Kontrol, even if it sucks for DDR now.
In Oregon, Seaside is pretty good, but I also liked the arcade at UO before it closed.
In Washington (and maybe America overall), ACME is where it's at.
In Japan, Kawasaki Warehouse. Just look at this:
The whole thing is modeled to look like a seedy Chinese backstreet. I have some more photos if anyone is interested.

I saw that in an online article somewhere. The place looks like a themepark for arcades.

You beat me to it.
Though TGA is easily overshadowed if I think about almost any random arcade I was at in Akihabara... but they have an unfair advantage. I mean, walking into a backalley arcade and finding 3 IIDX machines of the latest version in a row, the place that had D&D Shadows over Mystara, Gokujou Parodius, & Fantasy Zone, a Sega arcade with at least 8 Virtual On Force machines still in use in 2007, and then Mikado in Shinjuku that greeted me with Darius 1 & 2 cabs right inside the front door...

Back in the day? Tacoma Narrows, near Bellarmine Prep, I went there after school or DDR-club meetings to further practice to make sure I was best at the school (and better than foss next to us). It had 2 extreme machines, a 5th, and this new game called In the Groove, that pushed me further than I ever imagined.
The carpet glow in the dark walls, the half carpet, half tileblock floors, the UV, all really added to the warmth of the atmosphere, especially at night.
