Welcome to Suko’s Stupid Super Challenges!

What is SSC? It’s a continuing monthly event that will test your bemani skills and force you to compete in ways you never have before!

The rules are simple:
- At the beginning of each month there will be a challenge issued.
- You will have until the last day of the month to submit your best score for the challenge.
- The top three scores will be awarded points.
- Points will be accumulated throughout the year. At the end of each quarter, points will be totaled and VIPs will be chosen based off their scores. There will also be Annual VIPs based off totals achieved throughout the year. (Physical awards are a definite possibility. Stay tuned!)
- Score submissions to SSC can be made via a photo or video that legibly shows the score being submitted. Post all scores in this thread by the deadline.

FAQs:
Important answers to common questions will be collected here as they’re answered.

Q: Can I make a suggestion for a monthly challenge?
A: Sure! But depending on the challenge you propose, you may not be qualified to participate that month’s event in order to make it fair and balanced for all players.

Q: I got this great score, but I didn’t take a picture in time. Is it still a viable score?
A: In most cases, no. You know what they say, “Pix or it didn’t happen”. However, if you have a lot of trusted witnesses that saw your score, shoot me a PM and we'll discuss it.

Q: Aw man! I got a kick ass score on that song a few months back! Can I submit it for this month’s challenge?
A: Nope. Only scores obtained during the month of the challenge will be accepted.

Q: I have this awesome idea on how to set some mods so I can get way more points than the other players, can I do that?
A: Generally, if limitations aren't specified, then you're free to apply whatever mods you want. However, if the mods will unbalance the challenge, I request that you PM me so I can make an amendment. If you don't, I might be forced to disqualify scores or restart the challenge due to an exploit.

Q: I got my best score for this challenge at 11:59 pm on the 31st! Can I still submit my scores!?
A: Sure. If you can submit pictures/videos of your scores by Noon on the following day, I'll still let it count.

This makes me sad because I want to be a part of this but know I won't be able to get to an ITG machine since Tilt is gone.

That's why (last month) I started with a very easy and open challenge that anyone with a DDR machine after Extreme could've participated in......and I only got 1 person to submit a score. So.....yeah.

I have no idea what this information tells me, but I'm experimenting to find what type of challenges people are most likely to participate in.

Also, there's only 4 days left to submit your scores!

Hehe glad I could help motivate you guys actually doing this. We should try not to just one-up each others' scores though in the last 2 or 3 days of the month, that seems kinda lame (though I admittedly only didn't do it again on the 31st out of laziness). Maybe keep submissions in private messages to Suko, and he can just announce the current leader, but not their percent. That just seems like it'll keep us from posting the leading score an hour before the month ends Wink Or whatever really, just thought I'd voice the concern. I look forward to April's challenge!

Interesting idea. I say do whichever you feel like. If you want to PM me directly to keep your scores a secret, feel free to do so. If you'd rather provoke some serious competition, then feel free to post it here.

Pump it Up players are going to get some love this month.

April's Challenge:
Objective: Get the highest score possible on Pump it Up's Beethoven Virus on Hard difficulty with the Acceleration Accelerando mod active. Also, because it's spring, I want to see ducks. So let's see that Xuxa noteskin on there too!

Specifics for this challenge: Submit a screenshot or video showing your highest score on this song (with the appropriate mods) achieved between now and the end of the month.

Note: This challenge was intended for use on Pump it Up Pro, but if you want to try it on a different PiU machine, that's fine too. However, you have to choose some noteskin mod that is strange or whacky to make up for the lack of duckage.

In the event of tie scores, the person to submit their score first will be given the higher ranking.

Accel or Accelerando?

Um....I actually didn't know there were two different types. Could you explain what both do and I'll clarify as to which one I meant?

Accelerando causes the rate of the song to speed up gradually with every arrow hit. It keeps going until you break combo at which the speed is normalized and starts over.
Is that the one?
