- ORIGINAL POST -
hi guys! I'm at my college right now because I have nothing better to do than to print out huge posters.
Anyways I started messing around and got this funny idea of an advertisement poster for In The Groove.
It's in crap quality because I'm paranoid and don't want people getting the actual file.
Anyways does it need anything? Is it clean and simple? different colors? different catch phrases?
btw when I print it out tonight it's going to be 24x36 inches.
mmmm sexy.....yeah minimalism is one of my favorite aspects of design.
anyways, some feedback would be nice.

while i like the design (courier new for the fucking win), that poster does not convey at all what in the groove is. an itg poster should be something chaotic and probably ugly >_>

James your right. Which is why I decided to avoid bevel and embossing, also orange and red gradients, and bad fonts.
This is just for me really. But thanks for the criticism.
Also the font is Futura Std Light.

Reposted from Facebook: As a marketing major, with any campaign you need a target market of users you want the ad to appeal to. Who would the poster be for?

ok guys this is getting to serious.
I just wanted to make a cool poster haha.
but now that you mention it Jon. I was hoping this would grasp both the general market, and the loyal fanbase.
You're Fantastic is obviously a joke only the fanbase would know. Immediately pulling them in.
And then with the General audience I am hoping to grasp there curiosity with simple type set and imagery.
oh man come on guys, I just got done with my sophomore year at design college. Please.....I don't want to think anymore......
*cries*

haha, the design is aesthetically pleasing, however probably not marketing effective.

You totally need a small, almost unnoticeable web link at the bottom for all those "curious" people to investigate it.
btw Keby, nice design. Very pleasing on the eye. Personally, I think it'd be awesome to have hanging next to our ITG machine. Almost like an inspirational poster, but for dance freaks.

I want one too. I think it's pretty damn awesome. I would laugh every time I passed it in my house, and it's really cool looking.
I think you should post about it on an ITG group on Facebook or something. I bet you could make a little bit of money.
Is there a way to get a smaller version? Like 12"x24"?

In the effort to be awesome, would you mind sharing a 300 dpi png file or something? I have a plotter @ my work and I could print my own. =D
'course, mine will be on regular high-gloss paper, are you printing yours onto anything super special or rigid?

This is what my print out looks like. It's 24x36 inches. Just so you can get an idea.
How many of you REALLY want one?
Because this was just for me, no one else, but some people are showing interest, and I want to know just how bad you people want one.

I'll be honest, at $24 I'm gonna have to think about it. Then again, as I said above, I have access to my own printers.

how about 15$ and I'll cover the rest?
also, do you have access to an Epson 9800 printer? I'm curious, because I would like people to have the same quality as mine does.

No, it's not an epson 9000. It's just a Oce plotter, so it probably doesn't have the quality that you get, but it is pretty decent. I've used it to make custom ITG marquees.
Sure Keby. At $15 I'll take one. Obviously, please make sure it's rolled instead of folded. I'll be sure to get you the cash next time I see you. Or, perhaps you could exchange it with Tom because you see him a lot.

Listen the only reason I asked for $24 in the first place is because it costs that much to print it out on the printer I used.

I don't want you going in the hole for this stuff. For now don't worry about me. If I really want one, I'll talk with you about it sometime in the future.
Anywho...It's a cool design, and you should be proud of it.
