I'm really interested in getting a drummania controller either to play DTXmania or to play on my PS2. I have around $150. This one site said I could build one for about $50. Any suggestions?

GDAMania.net's forums have a lot of the answers to any GDA, GF/DM questions.
Regarding controllers, here's a link explaining which ones you can use on pc and/or with your PS2.

If you have all the skills, time, and resources to acquire the materials needed to build it yourself, go for it; although it will be definitely more than $50. Probably at least over $100 (including time, effort).

I use a DMKOC, and can S most 80s with it.
Also, note that you want a KOC, not a Topway controller. While they look practically identical, the KOC is WAY better than the Topway.

IF YOU BUY A TOPWAY, YOU WILL REGRET IT. Mine didn't even work.
Don't buy the 3rd party drum controllers at all. EVER. Even if they seem like a good value. THEY ARE NOT!

Build a Drummania controller if you can. All of the home controllers I've seen have been tiny and unlike the arcade setup.

The DTXpress series are exact to the arcade... although they're a little more (around $300+).
