Yup, that's right!! First Distorted machine in Canada, yay!!  Basically, the only reason we have Happy Sky here (at E-spot) is because of a funky dude named Landon who bought it on YAJ and then installed it for us.  Long story short, he's living in Japan at the moment so he will be buying Distorted and shipping it here very soon!! I can't wait!!  Hope you all can make a trip up for it =]

OMG UPDATE! (March 20)

The Tragedy!!

So basically, Landon had DD a while ago.. but he was waiting for all the acoutrement before he sent it!!  It's on the way now =]

YIPEE!!

Haha, I didn't realize Landon moved yet! That's great news! Do you know when it should be up and running? I smell a Canada trip :O

He's still looking for the best price.  Should be buying it something within the next week, then however long it takes to ship here.  Oh yeah, and Drummania V3 is again up and running at E-Spot (there was an internal problem, and I think they had to buy a whole new board, thus it was down for about 3 weeks) and the pads are in perfect condition as well as the bass pedal, plus it's super loud and sessionable with GuitarfreaksV3.. so theres no reason for you guys not to come!!

Cool! Now all E-Spot needs is a recent version of PNM and I can avoid CHQ altogether Smiley

Protip: E-spot owns all the machines in CHQ.. they fix them too.  It's just run by that fat lardo jerk.  If they bought a machine for CHQ.. and hardly anyone except Mark (Vivaldi Amuro) ever plays it.. I don't see why they don't just ship that one over to E-Spot.. or buy a whole new machine altogether..

I would like to go to Canada again, maybe over spring break. I'll probably avoid Saun-er, CHQ, since i guess it's not that good. Is the IIDX machine at e-spot in decent condition? Last time I went, it was...decidedly dead. Scissorkicking the coinslot is generally not a good sign.

They fixed it.  No more problems with the coinslot since about a month ago.

Are the keys good? Does the monitor work well now?

Regardless of these issues, I'll probably go just to play some DMV3 now that I...don't suck and can actually get the Encore Stage. That reminds me, is it possible to get the Encore in a session if only one person meets the encore criteria?

Absolutlely.. as long as the person doesn't so badly they make you fail.. as long as the guitarist makes 95% perfect or the drummer makes 93% perfect (this is on V3, it was 95% for both in V2 and previous) then you will get Purple Storm.

And I didnt' know there was anything wrong with the keys?  I have a DJDAO PE at home, (no I didn't buy it, im not rich) and the keys are really stiff.  I think the keys at the arcade are just really worn in well.  And I didn't know there was anything wrong with the monitor either? oops =/

It's good that they changed the encore requirement from 95% to 93%, since it's way harder to do that on DM than on GF.

I guess I must have come at a bad time, the IIDX machine had really stiff keys and the monitor was turned up to full brightness, making everything washed out.

Do you perchance live with someone else who is also interested in Bemani?

I'd say it's one more excuse for me to go to Canada.

No, I'm "taking care of it" while my friend Landon (Kaizoku) is in Japan.  I'm also taking care of his modded ps2 and expansive game collection, for free.  Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

I have a friend with shitloads of bemani stuff and a modded PS2, but if he went somewhere, he'd probably have his sister "look after it".  I like going there and playing BeatMania HS. =D

Haha, I tried to buy that thing of Landon before he went. I never could sync up with him though.

It's too bad for all you under-agers. Canada is great. Poutine and Bemani- that's what I call an afternoon :D

You had me scratching my head wondering when I said that for a solid 5 seconds. :)

I would offer rides, but my car only seats two. (yes, there is a "trunk." no, you will not fit in it and border patrol look down on smuggling teenagers into Canada in your hatchback.)

Protip: You can buy Everclear at the duty-free store in the truck exit into Canada. :D :D :D

edit: oh, and speaking of bad drivers. RICHMOND, B.C. ANYONE?

Worst drivers in the Universe.  When all the immigrants came from Hong Kong because of it switching back to China's control.. none of them could drive.  And they couldn't pass the legit driving test.  So there was this special "driving school" where you could buy a real license (they had an insider at the DMV) for $20,000.  Thus, tons of poor drivers.

Still, on a ~200 mile trip, I'm bound to get lost somewhere, especially since I hear E-spot is really hard to find... As for getting past the border, I would not know what to say (and I'm a bad liar).

Richmond drivers suck, but a lot of the rest of Canada actually knows how to get around quickly. Going 80 in a 50 (kilometers) and getting passed by everyone else on the road is a crazy experience.

As a sidenote, I have a five-seater, and once I clean it out I'd be happy to drive a few (18+ plz) people to Canada. I need to go there again, anyway. Smiley

You don't have to lie when asked about the reason for going up: I'm going to spend money in some of your amusement centers up in Richmond area.

or: I'm coming up to spend money. I don't think they'll really care.

Sweet.  I'm definitely planning to go up sometime during Spring Break.

Have fun trying to recognize me... I'll blend in like an unsore thumb.
