I was talking this morning with a friend who is one of the creators/staff of the local upcoming Brony convention Everfree NW. There is apparently some interest in trying to get a dance machine stationed during the events and to have "hoof" note skins if possible.

I'm trying to think of the simplest way this kind of custom note skin would be possible, and if anyone would be willing to aid in the creation process. I'm guessing Chris Danford would be familiar how the Duck & Smiley skins were added for PIUpro; then there's the various oddball skins that Jayce has made, typically through foreground videos like UnderArrest & SweetDonuts.

Maybe Keby or Laura in particular, you guys may know whether this is possible or if so who to ask? I've never really met any of the ITG staff, so I'm lacking connections there. ^^

Would appreciate any assistance~

I'm too busy to make one, but I can tell you yes it is very easy to add noteskins to OpenITG. It has a note skin folder just like stepmania.

The best way to make one would be to download someone else's to get an example/template on what notes you need (holds, rolls, regular, mines) and how they are placed in the folder and static.ini or wherever you add new note skins

Pretty much what Keby said. Download OpenITG, install it. Then find the noteskins folder. There you'll see all the files used for that particular noteskin. What you could do is open those in a program like Photoshop, then replace the graphics with the shape you want. It's not a trivial thing to do, but it's not super difficult either.

Give it a shot on your own and if you find yourself getting really stuck, I might be able to help out a bit.
