Location: Gameworks (Sucks SIGNIFICANTLY LESS (end of p3))

i was there tonight...they ordered a crapload of new machines:

pop'n music (fever)
dance maniax 1st mix
gitadora 11/10
taiko ver.9

they're renovating the front for a new bar that's supposed to be done on 7/31, so you'll have to use the side entrance.

Not only is Gameworks a ripoff, but it's overcrowded and undermaintainanced.

Seriously, I don't know why anyone ever went there.

I've never payed for myself there, I only go if someone else pays.

Because it isn't a franchise catered towards teenage gamers in the first place.

Woo, DOUBLE PRICE!

Yes, Gameworks has officially discontinued their Happy Hour program, as well as stopped selling all time cards. I went back yesterday, and there was nobody playing SN (there are usually ~6 people there), and one person playing Maximum Tune 2. (usually ~8)

So... yeah. I hope they enjoy not making any money on weekdays anymore, because I'm sure as hell not going anymore.

Anyone want to buy a 320 point card ($32 value) VIP card for... $15 or something?

I might.

Heaven forbid I run into a furry playing WMMT.
Oh noes. ps there's like three or four that do, seriously. haha

I really haven't been able to make it to Gameworks much lately; T/Th are the only days I don't have work during happy hour, and most of that time is spent sleeping or doing homework. :\

FAXX without the gimmicky speed changes wouldn't be so bad, but FAXX is a pretty nasty challenge as is.  I gave up even bothering with it, since a lot of the challenge is learning where the speed changes are and reading 100 runs on 1.5 reverse.  And pre-patch, reverse was terrible since the visual offset gets reversed too (I haven't tried it since the patch).  I'll stick to more entertaining BS charts.

personaly i dont think that the speed changes are that hard as they go perfectly with the music although the Dumbass gallops in the middle rly piss me off...easy but still..... .....anywho i have yet to try challenge on Faxx and was wondering is it much harder then hard mode?

its very harder.

Actually, a true DDR fanboy would look at other dance game high end charts and say "FAXX is harder", even though it isn't by a mile.

I would know, I once said that with PSMO when I saw someone do PIU. I was so dumb back then.

If someone thinks FaxX is harder than my 2000+ step edits, they fail.  End of story.

that would be sick! DDR ITG and PIU all in one convenient nice looking location with 24hr technition......*drolls on keyboard*

You mean Acme before PIU was pulled before low income?  Because even if GW had all three machines, they definitely don't have a 24 hour technician.  They have three guys who try to look like they know what they're doing as they stomp on the panels until the IO test reports the sensors have triggered.  When one fails to trigger... they stomp harder.  Plus I'd prefer if my PIU came came without the 150% Gameworks tax.

Also, Tyrg is right about the fanboys.  Sakuracon 2006 was an amazing proof of this fact; Foy played Driven Intense with 4 or 5 extra mods added for a crowd, the response at the end was "hey, that's cool and all... but I'm going to play Daikenkai now."  Same thing happened any time anyone did anything to show off to a crowd.  A lot of people have heard about Jerrad's video from the middle of the night (3am, IIRC), where he filmed the arcades lines... one person (me probably) on Pop'n, Mark and Val over by ITG, couple people at the other 3 games and 20 people in line for DDR Extreme.
