Hence your claim that Extreme's pads aren't bad being wrong.  I figured that was implied, I guess I was wrong.

Konami made the 4 sensor per arrow design explicitly so you wouldn't have to step "in the right place."

I haven't felt like I got my money's worth at GW any time in the 4 years since the first time I went there.  Even the times I was playing for free.  And everyone's heard my story about almost getting kicked out.  Yeah, worth avoiding when possible.  And it's always possible to avoid GW.

I'd go play some Fzero if the 33 freeplay coupons from sakuracon hadn't expired.  And the machine was actually calibrated.

Hmm, the $25 card on weekdays doesn't sound that bad after all.

PRO TIPS FOR PEOPLE CONSIDERING GOING TO GAMEWORKS:

I actually don't mind going to Gameworks often, because there are actually many ways that you can save a lot of cash when you're there, and the price actually becomes pretty reasonable.

1) Only buy $25 game cards. I think they never expire anymore, and for this, you get 250 + 200 bonus points, effectively a $45 card.
2) Happy hour. 4-7pm Mon-Fri is happy hour, and every non-redemption game is half off. (Also, most bar appetizers are half off.)
3) VIP card. This is probably the least effective of all of the money saving methods, but if you go often enough, it ends up being pretty nice. After spending about 2000 points on a card (not including bonus points) your card obtains VIP status, and you get an additional 10% off every game at all times.

All together now: ($25 / $45) * 50% * 90% = 25% of the price. So, that 26-point Supernova ends up being only the equivalent of $.65/play. For four songs. A pretty good deal if you ask me. Smiley Extreme ends up at $.45/4 songs, Wangan Midnight 2 / Initial D are $.43, and nearly every other game is just as cheap.

edit> I'm putting this into the first post for relevance.

2.50? pass!

That's why not many of us frequent here.  That doesn't even include parking or bus fare.

Sheesh, $5.00 for a game of doubles?  /r/ that SN's price be written in bold red, and if possible, with flames coming out of it.

Games:
- DDR Extreme ($1 / 4 songs) Pads are horrible.
- DDR Supernova ($2.50 / 4 songs) No Double Premium.
- DDR USA (Price unknown)
- Air Hockey (Price unknown)
- Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 2 (lol cynic)
- Initial D V3 (not bemani, but still sweet)

If this is the only arcade you know about, I truely do feel sorry for you. GW is extortionate, and never bother to repair their machines. Go somewhere else, this place blows.

right pad on the supernova machine shrucks brawls but the left is quite good Cheesy
