Oh man Bill, if you get the new Pump I will be ALL OVER THAT.

I would so look cuter than her if I could find a pair of UGGs that would fit me.

Saw the new Pump it up at the show here Vegas yesterday, pretty cool.  We are going to see if we can update a newer cabinet we have to this new version for Acme.  :-)

Went for the first time in quite a while after a couple games of piu in Bellevue. I didn't realize how many custom songs there actually were, pretty awesome.
One thing though, twice stray balls from the basketball game landed on the pads. Not sure if it was just bad luck or what...

Thanks for the guidance. I just got my pad working again and I'll check them out.

Thanks Angus. Checked out the packs but they were too scary for my level.

Deliriously Delicious is made by the same people as Easy as Pie, so it's got a pretty similar set of somewhat intense 9's.  A lot of Jayce's charts are fun 8's/9's; those will all be under Jayce, The Past and the Lulz, and Wishing Well (as well as Gimmix Again, but those a really gimmicky, weird charts, as are a few of the charts under Jayce - check the high score before you play a chart, if it seems unusually low for a 9, it's probably best to try something else).  QooL and Super Secret [I can't remember the rest of the name] are from sightread tournaments, everything is in the 7-9 range and generally more technical than stamina-driven.  I've had good luck with Hard 8's from Rebirth 2 - I've only checked out a few, but what I've seen are more like 9's and fairly fun.  Lastly, the Sakuracon packs have a good difficulty spread and full sets of charts for almost every song.

Easy As Pie 1, 2, & 3 have fun and catchy songs that aren't hard.

Anyone have any 8-9 foot recommendations(no hands, few/no crossovers preferred) on ITG? I haven't played in a long time and hope to go tomorrow. Only asking cause Keby said there were over 1,000 songs.

Thanks friends

I had a lot of fun seeing old and new faces yesterday at Scott's house, but I really need to get back into practice/shape and will probably be more motivated to pass songs when I'm actually paying (lol), so I'm probably going to do some nice afternoon ITG at Acme. Feel free to hang out, I would love to catch up if I haven't seen you in literally 5+ years or meet you if you started playing in the last 5+ years.

See you there folks!

I studied music. Am I cool now?

I'd like to see either Technika or ReRave. Both will appeal to a wider audience than dance games ever could in this day and age. Mainly because of touch screens. People are super familiar with them so in my eyes both are a safe bet.

Though I am biased towards ReRave. Mainly because I've worked on it and It has a 46 inch touchscreen.

Personally, I like Extreme AND new DDR.  I am not gonna lie and say I wouldn't be more inclined to play Extreme for awhile though - I really miss it!

Obviously my opinion is biased, since I'm a Technika player, but I would LOVE to see Technika at ACME.  In addition to it being really polished and pretty easy to pick up, Technika also has its own community, separate from PNWBemani.net, that is huge - people are pretty much constantly playing the one at Gameworks - and is full of super good sports whose positive attitude would be an awesome influence on the ITG community.

Re: [Arcade] Acme Bowl - Bowling & Billiards - Southcenter, Tukwila, WA

ITG takes care of basically all the allure of the new DDR versions, and the classic is actually preferred by most players

Since you're usually the only one voicing opinion on the forum anyway, I'm gonna post to go on the record and say I completely disagree with you.  I'd like to play extreme once in a while, but I'm going to keep gravitating towards newer DDR machines.  ITG and DDR don't share the same allure in any way, shape or form to me either.  One can't substitute for the other.

Also I'm going tonight (Thursday) maybe 730 or 800, someone come hang out ;P

Edit: Bill> I have a legitimate request that goes against everything gerrak wishes for. Could the volumes on the dance games be adjusted so that ITG doesn't completely drown out DDR? Im not even a person who really EVER complains about volume either, but ITG is ridiculous.  Though it's possible it was just the one song that he was playing...

I keep thinking we need a Teknika or a Rerave.  But still not sure how popular either would be.
I would love it if Acme got a Technika3 ~

At least from what I've seen within Seattle's Gameworks, their machine basically gets nonstop use after about 5pm; which makes it much more popular than their DDR:X2 and Supernova2.
If Technika3 profile cards could be made available for purchase at Acme's registers, I'm sure more of the community would try it out.

Earlier today, another machine was indeed placed betwwen the giant crane and ITG.  Hopefully a bit better now.
Thank you!  Grin

Regarding Extreme, I mentioned that to the powers to be, and they were not thrilled with having an older one, but we will likely do it anyway here soon.  Just backed up cinstantly lately with heavy priority stuff it seems.
Who are the 'powers to be?' Maybe just explain that ITG takes care of basically all the allure of the new DDR versions, and the classic is actually preferred by most players, so to have both gives a better balance. Understandable that you guys are swamped though; thanks for looking into it!

BTW, the redemption is all done being moved in now, so no more of the old stuff going away in case anyone was wondering.

I agree, the new crane game is in a very annoying and inconvenient place for ITG players.

Re: [Arcade] Acme Bowl - Bowling & Billiards - Southcenter, Tukwila, WA

Bill! That new crane game is a tad obnoxious as you guys well know, and to quote a particular player, it's like playing with a spotlight on you on ITG now. Can we maybe put a machine between it and the ITG machine, keeping careful of the overhead heat-lamp issue that we had to resolve the last time we moved the machine? I think it would be greatly appreciated by most!

Also, was there any possibility of the Acme-Narrows-Daffodil  Extreme-SN2-SN respectively rotation we kind of talked about for a while? I think the general consensus is that it would be cool to have Extreme at Acme for a while.

Thanks as always for your consideration and for your continued diligent upkeep of the machines and support of the community! Grin

Yes it's on there a long with a few hundred more songs. Enjoy!

Don't remember the exact count, but it's closer to 1700 total, ignoring duplicates.

If there are any files that anyone wants to put on the machine, send them my way and I'll add them next time I go.

USB may finally be resolved soon - Debian seems to be more cooperative with regard to USB configuration (it suffers the same core problem as Ubuntu, but Ubuntu did some very strange things when I changed the configuration, whereas many people have gotten Debian to handle USB just fine).  I've ordered up a second boot drive which I'll get set up with Debian soon after it arrives, then I'll swap it out for the current one and bring it up to date as well.  I ordered a pair of USB extension cables to replace the hub, so we should be getting more reliable performance once USB is up and running again.

I guess I'll just ask since I can't really find the information relevant to me buried amidst computer speak.

Can I bring a USB stick for scores and customs or not?  If not I might just make a bunch of files and have them put on the machine or something

Re: [Arcade] Acme Bowl - Bowling & Billiards - Southcenter, Tukwila, WA

Ubuntu doesn't break from the various UNIX standards significantly more than any other Linux distro does - they've swapped out some underlying parts (like many distros do), but the standards don't specify anything about implementation, so that's not a break from compliance.  That said, the way that fsck is handled is particularly annoying, since it makes Ubuntu unsuitable for anything but a desktop deployment; it's supposedly meant to be a viable server option, but who has a monitor and keyboard hooked up to each of their servers so that they can press a key to finish the boot process?.

I've thought about nightly cron reboots with the original computer (since USB performance worsened with each mounted drive until a reboot - unfortunately, Roxor uninstalled cron and pretty much anything else that the game didn't need to save space), so that's definitely an option, but I think it's safer to just make the switch to Debian, which has also been used successfully for OITG, and with it being Ubuntu's parent, it shouldn't be particularly confusing to maintain.
