May 29, 2009, 10:39:18 PM - ORIGINAL POST -

We can add songs to the Acme Bowl ITG cabinet now.

I'm in charge of this, so basically this is how it works:

1. Post in the thread a link to the song that you want added to the machine. Make sure the audio is in the correct format, the SM file works with R21 syncing, and that you have a banner/background file if you don't want a generic one.
2. I'll play the song on my custom ITG build, and tell you if it's appropriate to add to the Acme machine.
3. Barring any weird stuff going on in my life, I'll add the song to the Acme ITG cabinet next time I do an update. This should occur fairly frequently.
4. If you have a song that you want added but don't have the file yourself (or it's a really common file), just post the song name and author and I'll look for it. I have all the DDR song packs converted for hacking, so that should be possible to add immediately.

Current Added Songs/Packs
ITG3
ITG Rebirth
Customs 1:
 Loituma (12) (syncing is correct)
Lucky (9) (syncing untested, let me know)
Seven (11) (syncing untested, let me know)
Shades of Blue (10) (syncing untested, let me know)
The Final Hour (12) (syncing untested, let me know)
Boten Anna (11) (syncing untested, let me know)

scroll down. There's all 3 packs for stepmania. and the game if you MYD anyways...

Mungyodance has really consistent quality, and an equally consistent furry theme. I'm not sure if the revision you guys are running shows custom bg's but if it does you gotta take out the images. Other than that the music choice is excellent.

My buddies suggested Mungydance for our machine so I checked it out. Most of the songs are good and the charts are really solid. However, all the songs I played (about 20/300) seemed to all be very unimaginative. They were simple, straight forward songs which I was able to 99 almost without any effort at all on a sightread. Hardly any crossovers, spins, hands, etc. There are exceptions to this, but I feel like you'd have to go through the ridiculous number of songs they have (I think it's close to 300) and pick out the 50 or so that're truly awesome.

I agree with them being unimaginative sometimes.  None of the charts are bad though, which is important for an arcade machine. I would say play more of the game / some of the harder charts if you have the time, I think it's worth it. Yeah the song count is undiculous considering how many songs Renard makes in each mix.

except for Dash Hopes..........you can leave that song out because NO ONE is going to pass that here.

sorry for double posting, but I think it'd be nice if we could get a community sim pack on the machine, like a PNWBemani Orignals Folder or something.

Community pack would be good, not sure what all we'd have for it though.
I've made some DDR style simfiles, not difficult but fairly cool.

I PROPOSE THE FOLLOWING PACK OF AWESOME FILES TO BE ADDED.  Tongue

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RAAP2VCR

It's a collection of really good files. Mostly DDR-pad style; but these are the files that I play anytime I load up Stepmania for a set. I don't know what they need to have done to them to have them work for OpenITG, so I didn't do anything to them.
The filesize is large because many of the awesome files have videos as well.

Consider it done right after the tournament. I'm going to stick on tournament updates when I do the new hack tomorrow (or, pending natural disasters, Thursday). Expect fixed syncing on Rebirth files, and maybe a few neat surprises. Also, the fast scroll mod and some new themes should be coming. Depends on if I can get Stepmania to run on my PC tonight.

Kevin, can you link me to this fast-scroll mod? We'd love to put it onto our machine but I haven't seen this mod anywhere.

So when do you plan on hacking some files onto the machine Kevin? I'm just wondering.

This weekend. I've got a few zips full of files ready to go.

what day are you going to be there? I'll plan on stopping by to check it out.
Oh and maybe its just me being nit-picky, but I don't want this machine to turn into a "stepmania" machine with a bunch of random ass songs and stuff. So pick good files to put on there Grin
besides, too many songs means another RAM update.

Man I love double posting......just kidding, I hate it.

Anyways, Kevin I was wondering what you set the marathon song length limit to. Is it at 5 minutes or unlimited?
Because, I got a new usb, and I really really really really really really want to try the Denjin K megamix, but I probably can't due to custom song length restrictions on the machine. So I was just wondering what it was set at, or if you could put it on the machine. Pretty Please?

Hey everyone  Smiley
This is Nimesh (NiMM on the machine). Most of you probably do not know me yet as I was only at the DDR tournament on the 22nd
but had to work at southcenter mall during the 23rd itg tourney. But I do come to ACME often since I work across the street,
and I see Gerrak often.

Anyhow, I just put together a stepfile for the song "Elevator" and its 2:10 in length, I understand most songs are 1:50 or so,
will the machine tag this as a double song? I am okay with that, and would be happy as long as the machine won't
deem it too excessive in length to play.

Kevin,

Since our USB sticks aren't working on ITG right now, any updates on putting some more songs on the machine? I really miss playing stuff like Lucky, Spinning Around, and all that good stuff. Any chance we could do a content update?

God I've fucking told you Travis like five thousand times, I have way the fuck too much stuff going on at the moment to even complete my homework and get like 4 hours of sleep a night, let alone go to Acme. Bill can fix the long versions, but I'll put some songs on when I get a chance. It might take a while! I'm not such a free person!

Another note:

The USB ports not working has nothing to do with the installation of OpenITG. The slots are pretty much dead; this is why they're not working.
