Ooh, I didn't knew about this place until I just found this thread. I think I might come check it out Sat. as well. Any particular time people are thinking of meeting up?

I'm free sometime after 2pm but before the evening - I think most of us have agreed the afternoon is better to go to this place on weekends because at that point they're not enforcing the dress code, which is way too strict for dance game players to feel comfortable with while they're playing dance games.

I found a crash bug with Pump Pro. I didn't want to waste credits finding the exact way to reproduce it, but it seemed like it happened if I held a step panel down while using the navigation arrows.

So are they keeping the PIU Pro in good shape?

I got to talk with Jim over the phone the other day regarding placement of my (our) ITG2 machine at Power Play. Long story short, they need to own every machine there, and they don't plan on participating in any revenue sharing deals.

That being said, Jim seemed incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the arcade industry. I chatted with him for a while and made some suggestions that he investigate Ju Beat and Technika. Dunno if he will or not, but if he does that'll be awesome.

If you guys ever have a maintenance issue regarding the equipment at PP, he asked that I inform him about it. But he also didn't sound like he wanted me to spam him about every little thing, so....yeah. I guess post any significant maintenance related issues here and I'll try to inform him about it.

Did they ever get the R5 patch to save scores?

I don't believe so, though I haven't stopped by in a few weeks.  But they were supposed to get the encore pack within a week of registering the machine, and they didn't have any of the encore stuff (as far as I could tell) last time I was there.

@Suko: you seem to have the best connections with them, any way you can find out what's going on and/or link them to a download for the patch?

I'm not entirely knowledgeable about this encore patch thing myself. Tell me what I (or he) needs to know and I'll try to get that to him within the week.

Newer Pro machines (which switched to SATA hard drives) have a bug wherein scores simply won't be saved to the machine.  Patch r6 fixes it.  When we talked to him about the patch (and I brought it on my drive) a couple days after PP opened, he said that Pro came with a warranty, so he didn't want to use anything that didn't come straight from the company and that he had already requested the Encore pack which, in addition to a few new songs, is supposed to come with the newest patch.

As far as I can tell, no encore songs are on the machine, therefore no Encore patch.  Since save data still doesn't work, it's clear that no other patch has been installed either (the machine came with r5, and there's no r7 to date).  The r6 patch can be found here: http://www.piupro.com/page/arcade-usb-patch/ and the Encore stuff is an incentive to register your machine with Andamiro, so you can only get that stuff when they get around to sending it to you.

OK everybody, after a few email chats with Jim at Power Play, it sounds like as of today they've got the encore pack installed on the PiU: Pro. I haven't verified this personally (I will this weekend) but if someone goes there before I do, I'd like to know if they patched it and if all is working well.

Personal note: Jim seems to be just as awesome as Bill and was really cool to talk with. Looks like we've got two decent arcade operators in the Seattle area now.

The new patch is in place and the Encore update is working 100%.
Someone needs to goto Power Play and post some real high scores though!

I think the only thing this venue needs now is a little more volume!

I am.  Joined the group so I can keep in touch with the community of players and stay on top of issues and concerns.

I apologize for the delay in getting the patch installed but BIG THANKS to Chris @ F.I.M. for cutting through the red tape.

Thank you for everyones feedback, comments and suggestions. Designing, building and managing an arcade in these economic times is a tough business.  We can not always exceed our guests expectations, but know that we do make every effort.  If you experience an issue with a game or service, please feel free to let me or any of the staff know and we will do our best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Jim a.k.a. Yack-Town OG

Welcome to the forum Jim!
Thank you for showing the interest in keeping in touch with the community! Most people who run arcades don't do that. So thank you very much.

I need to find the time to get up to bellevue to play PIU hahaha, I've been meaning to for the longest time.
