Just a heads up - Tony has been keeping up with the thread and is working on a post addressing all of your concerns, but it might take him awhile due to the fact that by "post" I really mean "five page essay."

Um, the player 2 side bars gone. What happened? Embarrassed

There was complaints about the bar being loose, so our techs brought it in for welding.  Also, they spent some time tweaking and perfecting the monitor.  Some bad capacitors were causing issues, all replaced now.  :-)  Bar will be back in the morning.

Fantastic thank you for fixing the bar!

If its at all possible the player 1 side down arrow isn't responding to well to out steps. Also, the up arrow on the same side was rotated. We rotated it back because it doesn't register well, at times not at all. I've already tried to rotate all the arrows and the only one that responds well is the up arrow on the player 2 side. If people want to rotate the arrow we have to rebalance the sensors at the same time.

At ACME right now playing on the player 1 side and the sensors are not up to par, pretty horrible to be honest. The down arrow is false triggering a lot and the left arrow could use a bit I work as well. I believe it could be the sensors on the inside towards the center plate that could be causing the issues. When I step further out it responds decently well but not at %100.

Thanks!

my pump pads are barless and its great.  you should take advantage of the barless pad while you can

So I hesitated a lot before making this post because it is entirely possible that I am the only Pump player who is even having this issue, at which point I'd feel funny bringing it up, but has anyone else happened to notice that the Pump pads - at least on the 2p side - are kind of under-sensitive, in the sense that you have to step harder-than-average to get them to trigger?  I've been having this problem where I get a lot of misses when I step lightly, and I don't have it with ITG or the Pump at Big Al's, but maybe it's just me?

I actually felt that way a month ago about piu @ acme...i guess the last time i played (about 2 weeks ago) it didnt feel that way as much...i still feel that, during a short stream of notes, i tend to miss more because i dont tap the arrows hard/accurately enough for them to register. since im used to itg's sensitiveness. So its not just you laura :p

I favor the 2p side on Fiesta 2 a lot over at ACME, and it always seem fine to me. One thing I did notice Monday was when selecting songs I have to repetitly tap the down left or down right arrows unlike before where I can just a foot on either arrows and scolled through song selections within seconds. Other then that, 2p side seems to be working great.

Hey thanks to all you guys for keeping diligent on the Acme machine issues. I wanted to mention that the sides of the screen for 2-3 inches or so somehow got really blurry at some point in the last couple days. I dunno if someone messed with a setting or whatever but this is pretty noticeable (though happily for me doesn't personally affect my play since I use mini >.>). Anyway I thought I'd make mention of it, thanks  Roll Eyes

Just a quick question, would it be possible to replace the screws/bits in the ITG 3 machine with M6x12 counter sunk bits? I find that at times my shoes get caught on the screws/bits that are currently on the machine. By replacing the current screws/bits with counter sunk ones, our feet can move over the M6x12 counter sunk bits with no trouble considering the bits wouldn't be peeking over the triangle brackets. I'd only replace the ones that are towards the center panel, the ones that our feet move over while playing.

I'd be more than happy to purchase the M6x12 counter sunk bits to do this if Bill and the community wouldn't mind, I guess the only problem would be the screws/bits that are stripped and hard to remove.  Grin

Thanks for your consideration!  Roll Eyes

hiya people.

So status on pad modding just so everyone knows the situation:

Alot of the replacement sensors that have been put into the machine are really really insanely sensitive DDR sensors. Because of this, I was having a lot of trouble finding the right amount of tape to use because I've literally had to put 40 layers of masking tape to pad out the trigger happiness of the right and down arrows. I wasn't having issues with up and right because they have more standard sensors that

1. Aren't spliced in
2. Width actually fits the sensor holder.

So, I can't come out again till I have gas money (lol) Which will happen on friday morning, but when it does, I'm bring a handful of andamiro pump sensors which I know have no issues to put in place of the main inner sensors on the down and right arrows so we can resume pad modding. For now the left side ~works~ but the down arrow may get stuck down intermittenly. Hard stuff is doable and you get the idea of the flatness for the next few days, I was able to 99 10's and 11's on it, but its not completely perfect yet because I can only do so much after work in 4 hours.

At the very least the way the left side is raised now, people can get an idea of how little they will have to move in order to hit the arrows in time for ~everything~. It's just a matter of me getting out there again to tweak it to perfection.

Also, I didn't touch the right side. Thanks everyone for coming last night + being moral support through the whole thing. We'll get it tuned up really well on friday, ~maybe~ sooner if its SUPER broken.

Update:

Giving Allan a couple andamiro sensors and modding supplies to get the down and right arrows functional on the p1 side because apparently they completely pooped out overnight. Figures since the sensors in there are shifting around and being awful. This will make the right and down arrows moddable...

Bill, I was wondering what your techs ended up doing with the old ITG sensors? they can modded to function well again and be useful...

They have all been tossed out.  Typically, when replaced the actual outer rubber is breaking apart, they look like a real mess when they come out of there.

Looks like blue to me  Grin

The left side is now currently modded and working great! I've given the materials to Chris and Abbye just in case it needs additional adjusting, since I'm actually needing to move to Bellingham on Saturday, though I'll be down the next two weekends after also. But for now everyone's welcome to give it a try! Feels a tad different but it's something you can get used to for sure. Thanks Sara for the time, materials, and insights.

Yes, the Player 1 side is finally modded and soon, the Player 2 side! Grin

As far as today went we didn't have any problems with the Player 1 side. We played couple 9's and a couple 13's, both stream-heavy and technical charts. We played a few 170 BPM charts and a few 140-160 BPM 24th charts without any problems. If anything does break down, I'll make sure I fix it right away. I did want to mention that the sensor/pads are the best they've ever been as long as I've been playing at ACME.

I just wanted to thank Sara for all the work she put into modding the pads for ACME, they are becoming amazing! Also, thanks to Allan for putting in some work today to make the Player 1 side up to par!

I hope our community will go to ACME and try out the newly modded pads and give us some feed back. If anything does break down please post on the forums and I will be there to fix them promptly!  Grin

On a side note...

Sara I have the materials you gave to Allan the other day. I'll be sure to give them back to you next time we meet!

Awww It's no problem! I'm really glad I don't need to go out there on an emergency trip this week to make sure things aren't exploding/dying, since Allan was able to  come get tools from me, chat about how to fix the issues/do stuff the following day. It's a huge relief, I was really worried about the pads Smiley

As far as modding the p2 side, my idea is actually having the players who use it most frequently being the ones who maintain it most frequently. Now that there is a clear method shown in the p1 side of how this is done, I think its best for Chris/Abbye to learn how to mod the right side/tweak it, just because they play so frequently and request the most pad maintenance.

This is just because there is no way I can make it out to the arcade reliably in a routine way because of my work schedule and the distance of the drive. I'm out in Dupont so it takes a long time to get to the arcade, and its worse than an hour in traffic after work unless I leave late. That leaves me with only 2 hours to be at the arcade on a weeknight, which is not nearly enough time to mod the pads well (I spent 5 hours monday night and it wasn't, and I was exhausted for work the next day. Bad idea haha). So yeah. You two should definitely open the left/up arrows and take a look! (I'm scared of telling you to open the other two arrows for now because they might get messed up, best to leave the sketchier ones alone for now). But yeah, thats my theory/idea.

THAT BEING SAID I actually need my tools ASAP so I can finish modding/setting up my own p1 side. If I could come up to ACME after work today and grab stuff that would be cool. Or if I can meet you guys someplace. I just want everything setup and taken care of at my place so I can be more comfortable after my move. I do have to go to fry's to return a vacuum cleaner + buy a 2nd power supply so yeah. Just let me know. Actually I should just text you about this. lulz.

Hey guys just posting to say the someone tampered with the modded pad sometime between Friday and today. The right arrow on the player 1 side have been completely stripped if the foam/weather stripping and the down arrow had the tape removed. Sara and Allan put in some time making the pads flush and near perfect, so please do not touch the foam and tape unless you know what your are doing. The player 1 side right now needs work again because someone messed with it, I don't have the supplies right now but ill fix it up tomorrow.

Again, whoever messed with it just ruined a perfectly good pad and wasted Sara's and Allan's time.
