Hey Bill!

There is a Pump It Up Pro update available now for all machines. There is also an expansion song pack that is available for all people who own machines. In order to get the pack for installation, you have to register your cabinet on the official site. Check out http://www.pumpituppro.com for the info. Thanks!

Double post time!

Bill,
Just got back from Acme, and I noticed two minor issues. Both are probably not things that are ultra important to fix, but I thought I'd post about them since I didn't want to clog up the service line with these minor problems.

Drummania's hihat is indeed fixed, fast hits now register perfectly. The new problem is that it isn't screwed in correctly, so the right side of the hihat wiggles about and doesn't register notes. The sensor is obviously fine, so I'd advise checking that out. I'm just worried that leaving it semi-exposed might result in sensor damage or wiring problems in the near future.

Pop'n Music has a sticky right blue button. I tried the "credit card down the side of the button" trick to no avail, so that could be a microswitch or whatever.

GF worked great, along with ITG and Pump. Didn't play DDR because I didn't have much time. Thanks for your constant efforts, Bill! It is cool to see someone who cares about the players.

Kevin,
Service dept. is there now working on those two things.  Let me know how it turns out.
Yes, we know about the PIU Pro upgrade.  But we were about to pull the game due to the free credit glitch.  However, I hear rumour that a new computer for it is on the way, so if that cures the free credit issue, then it will stay and also see the upgrade.

Hmm...I would not mind it being pulled if it meant upgrading to NX2!

DM10 has a huge ee'mall set list which you could unlock and that was sort of the point.

Let's not forget the stroke of genius they had when they chose what to lock - namely half the old songs and like 2 new songs.

NX2 would totally increase my ACME visits.

Thanks for the quick action Bill and the explanations.  I'm sorry if I sounded really negative last week; I was just a little exasperated.  I have an Arcade Style Guitar controller at home and a drumset so technically I could play a bunch of gitadora there, but I still come to your arcades to support you and the community.  When problems like the ones on Friday occur, I always wonder "well why don't I play at home?"

But, I need to suck it up and deal with it, and I know you'll always fix it quickly.

Anyhow I will be going in about 30 min to ACME.  Hope to see some of you there.
Best,
C

I actually went to Acme Bowl for the first time since February 2007.

The pads are mostly fine on every dance game.
The volume on the dance games are ridiculously low compared to some of the other games (why is Spiderman PINBALL louder than Supernova?). Fast and The Furious Motorbikes are REALLY loud.
The pads on PIU Pro are sort of very close to the Air Hockey table, an accident might occur if someone got careless (also see: DRUNK PEOPLE).

But I did learn that PIU Pro is actually fun! Don't pull it, if you please.

I'm surprised that no one unlocked Understand yet on PIU PRO. I did you guys a favor by doing so. Grin

My record will fall most likely to BCIO within the next few days. Tongue

Who's BCIO?

His real name's Jose; he holds most of the records on the PRO machine at Acme. He's one of my hardest rivals to compete against.

Going to be at Acme this Saturday is anyone wants to meet up. Gonna be around Pop'n most of the time.

People,
I have a huge favor to ask of anyone willing.  The new computer got installed in the PIU Pro today.  Can anyone please confirm if the free credit issue went away with the computer exchange?  Info would be awesome.

Thx,
Bill

I stopped by today after work to check, and I tried twice to get it to work.

Both times I failed at being able to get it to glitch, so it appears to be fixed! If other people can still try that would be great for verification.

And on a related note; no more high scores on the machine either. Sad

Sweet!  You are da man!  Remind when I see you that I owe you a buttload of free credits.   Grin

Now why doesn't Art give me free credits when I try to hack into GK's machines? :[

Argh!  Free credits.  We are indeed signed up for the expansion pack.  But not sure what to do if the credit bug is back.

Tony and I are probably going tonight- we'll screw around with Pump a bit to confirm/deny the bug's continued existence...

...which reminds me, people need to go to acme and hang out with us more often. Anyone else going tonight? Tongue

about the credits thing there should be a sign that says "do not insert credits between screens because it gives free ones"

Bill:

Thanks for signing up for it! But please do not pull PIU Pro because of one dumb bug. ITG2 did that for the longest time and never got pulled!

Also Laura can you check to see the Machine Revision?

Oh hey, I forgot that parts of 405 are closed this weekend... looks like we're not going to make it today after all. :<

I got there and there were credits in Pump today. :\  It must be the same as before but with a MUCH narrower timing window to get the glitch.

DM Hi-hat was better but still have to hit it harder than normal and it misses frequently on fast rolls unless you're hitting it pretty hard.  Snare misses once in a while as well for some reason.
