I will be hitting up Acme Bowl tonight to check out the DDR scene.  Please feel free to talk to me!  I'll be the chick playing DDR a lot, lol.  Anyone else going tonight for sure?

I would have gone, but my dad said he's too tired to drive.

There might be fewer people at Acme than normal, because it's Mike's 21st birthday, and so some people are hanging out instead of going to the arcades.

Well, I went tonight and I saw Kevin and Kirby and a girl who's name a didn't get and a cool Mexican from Michoacan.  I'm surprised how many people play Pump instead of Supernova.  I'm not a big fan of Supernova (Where are the good Extreme machines?), but I rarely play Pump.

I need to bring in some lovely edits for Tricky Disco when I go back to mess around on the ITG machine.

I look forward to meeting more people!  (Love the Pop N machine!  ..and the free Pump credits don't hurt either)

I'm assuming there's still more Kevins who play in Washington.

Also, your best spots for extreme are Narrows Plaza Bowl in Tacoma and Tech City Bowl in Redmond. Tech City is pretty good, and Narrows has one of the best machines in the US. It also has a ton of edits on it.

Well, the Redmond one is the closest to me, so maybe I'll check that out.  Let me know when you all are gathering again at Acme and I will try and make it allllll the way down to Tukwila.

And now I feel stupid, but I thought I heard someone call you Kevin, AB1226 haha.  So you're the "Kevin" I was retardedly referring to.  Sorry! >.<

lol i've been gone too long

ok SUMMARY

- Don't go to Acme if you want to play Pop'n.
- Don't go to Gameworks if you want to actually play more than one set per hour.
- Don't go to Narrows AT ALL because if you're gonna support Bill, Acme is the place that needs it.

That's basically all that's changed since you've been gone.

Also, I'd like to let everyone know that I'm basically physically unable to go to arcades at the moment. I'm not in stable enough health to even consider doing so, and won't be for another couple of months. q_q

Oh and what I meant by that one post: are you saying that Bill's Pop'n is garbage?

He might be pointing out that 14 is newer than 13 (seems doubtful, both are still fun).  I've only had one problem with Pop'n at Acme; the outlet is right next to your leg and the cord pulls out easily... I've unplugged the machine mid-song.

At Gameworks it is really hard to get any appreciable amount of playing done.

He is right about Acme needing support more than Narrows.  Unless Narrows is going through the same slump right now, Acme is dead and needs the help.  Pretty much the only times I see anyone from the boards there is if Laura and I told them we were going and invited them along, doesn't matter if it's Tuesday night, Saturday morning, or Friday night.  The machines are barely getting any play as far as I can tell, even though they've never really been in better condition (DM is arguable - I've never had any problems with the hi hat during actual play, but it will fail to register if you hit it too quickly).  The changes machines seem to be out all the time too, and the desk never has quarters (the pop machines spit dimes at you if you try using them for change).

I hope my post hasn't been too misinterpreted; no mean to insult Bill or anything!  Embarrassed

I just meant that Pop'n at Acme seems to have sticky buttons fairly often. It's probably just something to do with the old cabinet.

Also, I don't have anything against Acme at all; it's still the arcade I go to at the moment. It's actually my favorite place because I can get some dancing game action in there and also play Pop'n Music and other games if I feel like it (although at the moment, I can't play dancing games at all). It's just that if one specifically wanted to play Pop'n, I was merely pointing out that it's cheaper to play at GW and also that the GW machine is generally in better condition.

I could go on all day about how Gameworks is horrible compared to Bill's arcades, though. I'm just not doing it because I'm sure people don't want to see a text-wall of my complaints about GW.

GO TO ACME EVERYONE
Bill's done a great service for all of us throughout the years and I don't want to see his arcades run into any trouble. I've been to the arcade on Friday nights and it's been entirely dead. It seems like the DDR players have moved to GW to play Supernova, and that the PNWBemani crew has kind of vanished. Maybe it's a sign that the scene here is dying; I'm not sure. :/

Bill, sorry if I offended you in any way. I wasn't trying at all to insult your fine arcades. I still go to them all the time, and I think others should as well. I'm really pleased to see that you're still supporting the music game community with machine upgrades and repairs.

Wait? The buttons on Acme's Pop'n stick?  I've never noticed; why is it that I'm always the last person to have an issue with any machine?

Dang, dude. Whatever's going on, I hope you get better quickly!

haha, that's just cruel. Who uses dimes? Tongue

I think a lot of us are just busy with life and growing up. There are still plenty of us around, the boards just seem to be in a slump again, but I guess there's just not a lot to talk about.

Wait? The buttons on Acme's Pop'n stick?  I've never noticed; why is it that I'm always the last person to have an issue with any machine?
I'm usually last... haha   But yeah, Pop'n has always worked for my simple needs.

btw, never play IDV4 when your asian and alone playing when the other asian and their groupies come to play it. disappointed because you can't pick the song to drive to :x

DM had a jammed coin door on both sides last night, but after calling, the techs were out there and had it fixed within an hour and a half. Awesome service. Cheesy
