I don't mean to double post, but I finally went to Round1 this past weekend and had a blast! Man, I'm so jealous of the Seattle area that they have access to such an awesome place. If there was a Round1 in Portland I would most likely be there at least every weekend if not every day after work.

I played tons of Beatmania IIDX, which was only the second time in my life playing IIDX on an actual cabinet so that was pretty awesome. I also played Sound Voltex for the first time ever and loved it as well, I am seriously considering buying a DJ Dao SVSE5 controller now. Also played Pop'n Music for the first time ever and that was great too.

Now I'm trying to find the best option on how to make trips to Round1 at least once a month more economically feasible/realistic... I don't know if it is...

It seems like Portland would eat up a place like Round1, I know we have some Big Als and Dave & Busters so it seems like Round1 wouldn't be too much of a stretch. But maybe the market is just too saturated with those other options.

Sigh.

Maybe I just need to move to Seattle. Haha.

I shared my opinion on Museca here. Overall, meh.

Some pop'n players use gloves so I can see that. It probably helps in moving rapidly between buttons and not injuring yourself.

The Pop'N Music was down tonight; I asked at the front out of curiosity and the clerk there said they'd been having issues with the machine and it may be on it's last legs.

Sounds like the management is looking into possibility of replacing the current Pop'N with another one, however.

EDIT: looks like the PopN is back in operation for now.

EDIT2: Looks like it is going up and down all the time...it is also a PopN Music 20 Fantasia now if that matters to anyone.

I don't know, I'm just the guy playing Drummania.

I'm usually there on weekday nights, and I'm noticing a disturbing trend of people tapping on my shoulders, trying to have a conversation by yelling into my ears, taking pictures of me with their phones... all while I'm playing.

Also a lot of people putting their beer glass on top of machines... usually when a staff spots this they'll ask them to put it on the ground, but pretty soon someone's going to spill beer all over pop'n / IIDX / SDVX controllers.

Was e-amuse up today?
Nope. I was just there.

It's still down. So you can only play Pump Infinity, Pump Prime, and Pop'N.

pop'n music is Tune Street, which does not require internet.

Saw a FB post from R1 themselves indicating an opening time of 2PM.

We're opening Friday, but e-amuse services may not be available in time for grand opening. If you wish to play Taiko no Tatsujin, Pump It Up, or pop'n music, this does not affect you. If you're looking to play Sound Voltex, GITADORA, or beatmaniaIIDX exclusively, you might want to wait until shortly after opening once we've connected to the network.

I thought PopN was also e-amuse only? Unless Round 1 doesn't have a version that requires it? Not that I've paid much attention to it.

Hurray, always-online DRM on arcade machines. :\

Great news. If anyone is unfamiliar look at the other Round1's in California. They have a deal with Konami and always have the newest version of all Bemani games and a connection to the eAmuse network.

No, eAmuse is only available to IIDX and GITADORA at the moment. Every other BEMANI game is still stuck with some previous version that can be played offline (DDR X3, pop'n 20 fantasia, etc.).
