Haven't checked back to this location in about a month. What's the status of this machine?

I'm probably not the only one to be asking this, but does anyone know what happened to the song catalog on this machine? Over half of the tracks have been removed.

Additionally, is there someone that I can contact to add a few songs to the machine? I would only request adding between 8 to 12 songs.

Thank you!

I think they really have a valid point with the name. It's an arcade after all!!

My friend and I originally put all the content on the cab along with the Simply Love theme. I was in contact with the owner at the time and he allowed us to pretty much do whatever. That was forever ago and I literally haven't been back since. Sadly there was just no scene that plays there and it's to far from where I live( a 1 hour drive) to constantly update it with material. I have since heard the owner comes by and adds and removes content and tweaks the pads but I'm not even sure that happens any more. It's pretty much a lost cause at this point :/

have no idea what it's like right now, but it felt like every time I checked on this machine there was more and more MLP Brony garbage on it.

yeah we got rid of a lot of that stuff the one time we went and basically put groovestats ranked packs on there. I'm sure it's all gone now and wild crazy.

Extreme cab came back, and is now another Stepmania machine with different song packs. Also has an LCD/Plasma monitor. Timing maybe seemed alright but it was hard to tell considering the machine is directly under very bright overhead lights that make it almost impossible to focus on the top of the screen.  I couldn't even discern what were freeze arrows under that light with the default noteskin.

The DDR X Stepmania cab is still there too in the same spot.

This place just got a StepManiaX Cabinet yesterday.
So this is the place you want to go in Oregon for dance games right now with the upgrade cab being there as well.

$1.00 per play for both pads( so 2 players or doubles/team/duel modes)
Game is set to 2 songs per round.

Here is the thing that is completely different from anything anyone is used to.
StepManiaX doesn't currently have a pay to play game mode for arcade use.
By swiping your card you are paying for 5 minutes and 30 seconds to use the touch display.

This has a lot of pros and cons.

To a first time player that is a minimal amount of time to select mods and navigate the songs list and then get a full 2 song set in.

For an experienced player this is more than enough time to picks mods, play 2 songs, enter your high score name and potentially selected a second round and possibly get a 3rd song in before the timer runs out.

Because the screen doesn't lock out players and you can have 2 players join in on 1 credit, if 2 people trade per play you are basically playing 50 cents for 2 songs( possibly 3) or 1 dollar for 4 songs possibly 6.

Another point is to select quick play.
Quick play is an endless mode that loops random songs in the difficulty range you have selected.
It has limited mods I believe just speed mod changes but eliminates the need to uses the song wheel.
I've been told you can play 4 or 5 songs on this mode before it locks you out.

So there are a lot of options to be tried and I encourage people to go out and play on this wonderful cabinet!

Thanks for the update.  Went to check it out last night.  Really nice to play on a new dedicated machine.  The timed play is annoying but once you know how to move around the ui it's not too bad.

Thats good to hear. I'm sure maybe later in the year SMX will get an update with pay to play options so the touch timer be gone. In the mean time it's really nice and I hope more and more people go and play it. I'm hoping to get a small crew to check it out one weekend soon.

That's awesome. I'll keep an eye on this thread. I'm from the Eugene area, but moving to Albany/Salem soon so it will be way easier for me to drive up there and play.

For real?  Can't say I'm surprised since it was always empty the few times I went in but it was in a low traffic area in Beaverton so I would have thought rent would be cheaper.

Hey guys

I died a little inside when I saw that that this place had closed down. I used to frequent it pretty much every day before I moved away. I'm back in town for a little bit and I just wanna know if there's ANYWHERE I can play ITG. I was looking forward to coming back just for ITG, but now I'm super bummed.
