Olympia, WA Tilt reopening... [NOW CLOSED]

I just saw it being set up again at Capital Mall in Olympia, WA.  Looked liked the same stuff they had before it closed, but I emailed them about any Bemani... they said theres going to be a Supernova cabinet.  I also asked about Street Fighter 4.  They said if they can get one it will be there.  I'm kind of keeping my fingers crossed that the DDR will be SN2 instead of just SN.  Who knows though.

Its supposed to be open in about a week.

Just a little update: I did talk to the manager there and they received all of the machines from the Olympia Tilt.

I think this machine is now up in the Tilt at Bellis Fair in Bellingham.

Re: Olympia, WA Tilt reopening... [NOW CLOSED]

Yeah, I kinda mentioned that it was closed in my last post but I did get try and fix up SuperNOVA as well as I could have when I worked there. I made a huge difference, in my opinion, on the 2P side despite it missing a sensor bracket or two and SEVERAL of the screws for the sensor brackets. Only sad part was I never did get to order new screws for the thing as I wanted to.

Arcades may have gone away, but their culture is not gone.

I was at the mall the other day and noticed that this location is now closed again.  Make sense though, since they really never updated their games or maintained them.

Re: Olympia, WA Tilt reopening...

The Federal Way Tilt the Beatmania cabinets are gone. So if anyone wants to they can go ahead and update DDR Freak as well. That's coming from the Manager there as well as Olympia's manager.

Edit: The Tilt! in Olympia is closed. Just wanted to post that for anyone that comes across the forums looking for it...

Re: Olympia, WA Tilt reopening...

Ok a quick edit:
Checked out DDR Freak and it does have Beatmania 4th Mix listed as a feature for the Tilt in Federal Way. I didn't realize it was there because I didn't see it the last time I was there (it was last updated in 08) and I was just there in November...  That's about it.
The DDRFreak listing is probably outdated. Can anyone confirm if the Beatmania machine is/isn't there for sure?

Re: Olympia, WA Tilt reopening...

I'd rather have them just get an upgrade if they can, I'm pretty tired of EXTREME.

Re: Olympia, WA Tilt reopening...

That wouldn't be so bad, but it better have good pads if they got one in.

Re: Olympia, WA Tilt reopening...

Sorry for the lengthy post.... But this is enough info for a bump.

The Pad's on the 1P side are a little better than they have been in a while. A few weeks ago the sensor on the Left arrow on the 1P side was replaced and works a little better. 2P is better than it has been in a while. I'm no pro but I no the pads well enough to get by. The current manager is being transfered up north to Federal Way at the mall where they apparently have two Beatmania cabs. I don't know exactly what they have but Oly's manager said they have it. She'd let me know exactly what they are when she goes there today (Thursday). I don't know if any of you will be there anytime during the next couple of weeks but if you do PM me sometime and I'll hang with you. When they have the manager's switch out maybe we can talk to the new one about the pads.

Re: Olympia, WA Tilt reopening...

Someone should ask a manager there why they have a Supernova 2 marquee in the window, but none in the actual arcade.

Re: Olympia, WA Tilt reopening...

Well, I hope this is in the right area.  The Tilt @ the mall is actually a lot better than it has been in the past.  The right player side use to be horrible, but it is actually alright now.  I only had the right arrow stick once or twice on me to miss a freeze.  And if you do talk to the employees there, they will look @ the sensors to make sure they are working correctly.  I talked to the manager today, and apparently the supernova will be leaving within a few weeks, being replaced with an "older" machine from up north.

You should probably complain more to the techs there instead of complaining on this forum, obviously it won't get you anywhere complaining on here. Eventually if you nag them enough they'll fix it for ya Wink

I tried a game out there like a week ago.  Pad was one of the worst I've played on.  I failed the first song and just left.
