they're probably ok with it. i'm guessing there's not THAT many people that have hundreds of points just laying around, at least compared with the number of people that come in and buy a card and never use it again.

Point cards purchased under the old system are unchanged, if you still have a $25 card (450 points), it's now worth $113 in play.
wow, how long until that gets changed somehow? That seems really stupid on their part (and REALLY nice on my part!).

I went their earlier today. I think the SN up button on the 2nd player side is a bit iffy or maybe i just dont step on it hard enough. Pop N Music's volume is so low i cant hear anything. Drummania isn't that quiet imo but the snare padding is broken.

so new pricing at gameworks called 'all games are 50c' basically every game is 2 points to play. 1 point now equals 25c. if you buy $35 you get $45 worth of points. i forgot my normal card so i dunno what happens with old points, because i'm pretty sure i have like 350 points on that one that used to be worth about 17 bucks with the old $25 deal. it's a pretty good deal i guess. except for the fact that the drummania volume is turned down to about 2 making it nearly impossible to play.

oh and the extreme pads are even worse. i started failing songs because of them. 2P right arrow sticks, and when it does it sticks for about a minute. supernova works great.

also i played Taiko for the first time, and found out that both the drums are somewhat broken.

Re: Location: Gameworks (Post if you noticed that I changed the topic title.)

Please tell me they've changed the prices on both of these? $2.60 for 5 songs wasn't too horrible, but for 3?!

1.80 for 3 songs.

I went to Gameworks today. Thought I'd provide a status report.

DDR Extreme: Same as usual. Pretty horrible.
DDR USA: Didn't play, but it's probably the same.
GF: Still in good condition.
DM: Cymbal is a bit weak. Irritating, but I didn't have any problems with it.
Pop'n: Right green button (7) is extremely weak. The microswitch needs replacing. You really have to pound the button to get it to register. Volume is kind of low, too.

DDR Extreme is now 3 songs. Pads are still in rough condition.

DDR Supernova is back up, also 3 songs. Pads are pretty decent. The 2P side is overall better, but both are quite playable.

I just got an email from GW saying that timecards are available until 7pm now on Mondays through Fridays. Is this news? I haven't really needed to fill up my card for a while.

I just got back from Gameworks.  The DDR Extreme is in pretty horrible condition.  Not worth going back to for any DDR, but nice for Pop N and Dancemaniax and Taiko!  Happy to see some import games in an arcade.  Big place!

Time to try Acme bowl for quality DDR  Tongue

If GF/DMV4 is still being officially distrobuted in the US, then they would be best to just wait for that.  Heck, it would be nice to have both that and GF11/DM10 under the same roof.

Re: Location: Gameworks (Post if you noticed that I changed the topic title.)

More like they have no reason to upgrade until they aren't tied for most up-to-date GFDM in WA.  Even then, their business isn't powered by serious players, it's all casual players who try things a couple times... and drunk people.

And yeah, we all know V requires new (expensive) hardware.

Re: Location: Gameworks (Post if you noticed that I changed the topic title.)

I think GFDMV would require new hardware. There's no reason to upgrade GFDM 11/10 as long as they are still making gobs of money from RB/GH pros trying the game for the first time.

Good job! You get a cookie!

Now if only GW would notice us like you noticed the topic change. Maybe they'd pick up GFDMV4 if that was the case. :/

Re: Location: Gameworks (Closed from 6pm tonight ZOMG!)

Damn... just got back from Seattle.  Had a good time... but no GW!  I saw the sign saying private event from 6-11p.  Oh well.  The Pop'n machine was sitting there all lonely, waiting to be popped...

I did get some Faygo though!  Heh...

As for the email tihng, yeah, you get coupons for 2 hours of gameplay for Jan, Feb, and March.  I'll probably use the March one during Sakuracon.  I'm sure I'll be able to blow 2 hours there.
