Just to confirm for people who didn't know.

DDR Ace pricing:

1 swipe for Premium/Normal singes
1 swipe for Premium/Normal doubles

That's 6 credits total for any mode in the game.

Does that mean it's $1.50 per game? I don't know how much a credit is.

Here's the credit cost. It starts at $0.25 a credit and goes down in price with a larger credit purchase.

On DDR A, how do you turn on the screen filter modifier? I don't see it in the list of options.

You need to go to the DDR A e-amuse website and login to your account to access it there (and a few other options too).

Wow, that sounds needlessly complicated.

FYI for all of August, every day you get 2 song unlocks on Gitadora from the past library.  Good chance to catch up on unlocks you might have missed, or could not get because they were available before Round 1 opened last year in our area.

Just as an idea, I've gotten pretty much every unlock on there since August 2015 except for the premium encore songs, and I still have counted at least 28 songs coming up for unlock, that I don't yet have!

There is also a new high touch event going on, by which session playing with another player can get you some of the songs they have unlocked.

if you ever see ALPHCONQ playing on Gitadora and want some song unlocks just let me know...

(BTW KevinDDR, Sea Anemones is up for unlock again on August 30th, which would be August 29th afternoon for us)

So apparently there's some weird event starting on the 8th at 10AM (JST) for DDR.

The Baby-lon's Adventure event is now going on for DDR A.
Basically, all you need to do is play any songs. I was able to complete the event over the course of 6 sets.

The reward is 5 or so new song unlocks, and the event animation is adorable.
You'll progress slightly faster through the event by achieving the following:
-get AAA scores
-get 100+ combos
-try new songs for the first time

I'll be up in Seattle this weekend and am going to R1 to finally play DDRA.  Anything to keep in mind in terms of unlocks or Premium or anything?

Stage-limited songs:
New Century is only available as Final Stage or later
Rising Fire Hawk is only available as Extra Stage (any level)
Astrogazer is only available as Extra Stage Level 2 or Level 3

Unlocks:
Baby-Lon's Adventure is automatic, and will appear after every stage. You can speed it up by holding down the green button. After you unlock a song (unless you were on Final Stage going to Extra), you will be redirected to it automatically (and the sort will change to VERSION if you had it on something else). This can be done on Normal or Premium, but as Round1's machine is set to the same cost for both, there's no reason to pick Normal when using an eAmuse card (Premium doesn't show up if a card is not being used).

Extra Savior:
This contains all of the songs from previous versions that are still locked, plus a small selection of new songs. On Extra Stage, a new sort type is added, By EVENT. You can pick a song from any folder here. If you pass it, you unlock that difficulty and everything below, but only on the current play style (Single and Double songs unlock separately). If you fail, the bar that fills will fill at varying levels based on how long you lasted and the Extra Stage level (Level 3 will unlock songs regardless of pass/fail). Songs with Challenge charts (IX and JOMANDA have them, others might as well) must be unlocked on Expert before the Challenge charts can be accessed.

Levels:
Start at level 1, of course. Play 3 times to get to level 2, which adds 3 stars to the grid after every play session. Play 7 times to get to level 3 and add 9 stars (fills the meter). After a certain amount of time (shown at the end of each play session), a cooldown will occur and will reset to level 1 (I've never seen this start at less than 9 hours, so it should last for the length of your arcade visit that day).

i met a couple of you folks tonight at Round1; good games! it's great to find out there's a strong bemani community here in the PNW - i haven't hung out in an arcade playing ddr with random folks in at least 10 years =) I'm def looking forward to getting to know folks.

eAmuse passes are now $5. I noticed the change on the stickers placed on a few of the applicable machines. Wonder if the fact that D&B sells them for that much had an influence on it...

$10 is steep as fuck, that's why.  I almost didn't buy one because that's a lot for someone that may not go as often.

The card reader on the 2P side of the left DDR A machine doesn't seem to be working for some reason.

Sometimes the DDR card readers act up.  I've heard it's a software problem and that having them reboot the machine (don't do it yourself, they don't like that) will usually fix it.

What's with Groove Coaster showing "communication error" after scanning the pass? It keeps happening and I have no idea why. Apparently others have the same problem? Staff didn't seem to know.

I find that the network for those machines (Groove Coaster) works maybe 1 in 3 times that I go there.  I'm just glad you can check that without putting in credits first.

FLOOR INFECTION and POLICY BREAK have returned to DDR with SDVX. This set lasts until the 24th.

Though this assumes the 3 SDVX songs in DDR are even in the overseas release in the first place...

Yeah, rumor has it on Facebook that the US-based DDR A machines don't actually seem to be participating in this event.

I'd seen a clear indicator of the New Generation songs not being there, but saw mixed signals on Floor Infection. But I just checked myself, and the two I've unlocked are nowhere to be seen.

(EDIT)..Yet for some reason this YouTube video has at least the first two songs listed in license credits (check at 5 seconds for Strobe Girl and second spring storm). I'm puzzled for sure here.

Apparently, the DDR machines don't have that daily 1pm-3pm E-amuse downtime that the rest of the Bemani games at Round 1 have.  Didn't know that.  Just the extended 10am-3pm one on the 3rd Monday of the month.  So you can still arrow stomp with your E-amuse card while the other games are undergoing daily maintenance.

IIDX SINOBUZ release date: 10/26. I expect we'll be waiting a couple weeks or so before Round1 gets it installed, unless Konami decides to go for an online update like SDVX and MUSECA did.
