Thanks for the info! Hope the unlock is a cool song! Cheesy

Haha, it's...OK.  I was expecting a jazzier song than what it ended up being.

===

OH. BTW, Round 1 has moved the Beatmania IIDX, PopN, and Gitadora machines around closer to the employee staff door (when you get to the top of the stairs/escalator, do a 180).

The guy who is Round 1's "machine dude" or similar title, asked me what I thought of it and I have to apologize to him because I sorted of belted out "I don't like it."  Which, given that I'd found the machine after a bit of frantic searching, and then had only played 2 songs on it, may have been a bit premature.

There was something about the previous section where the lighting was a bit better for my eyes.  I had a hard time focusing on the lanes on Gitadora at first; it definitely took longer.  I don't know if it is brighter where the machine is now, or dimmer, or what not.

Also they lowered the volume a bit while I was there.  It sounds fine since it is way in the corner now but I guess I was curious why they did that.   The Gitadora is right next to what I assume is the staff breakroom /changing room so maybe someone didn't like the bass kicks while they were having their coffee.

Anyhow, first world problems I guess.  Of course it is great to have a "bemani corner" now and it is probably very helpful for busy Friday/Saturday nights...but I guess with Gitadora especially I feel like it is one of the bemani games a passerby might actually jump on and "try" and I liked introducing other people in the arcade to it.

Now it is relegated to a far corner of the arcade that noone else goes to.

Also...the staff going in and out of the door behind me is really distracting while I play.  Don't ask me how that is more distracting than random passers-by or bowlers looking at me, but it kind of is.

Oh well, end my whining.  I am just glad to see the Gitadora is still there!  I still go and spend about 100-120 credits worth of play on that thing a week, whenever I can!

Little reminder for those who use the e-amuse features. DST ends tonight, but Japan does not observe DST, so this will change the network maintenance times (which will become 2-4PM if I'm doing the numbers right).

I guess maintenance time is now 12pm due to daylight savings time being over and  Japan not observing it or whatever. Right at 12pm I couldn't use my eamuse anymore so those times on the machine should probablybe changed

So the maintenance window is 12-2PM now? I was trying to figure out how the time change would affect things, but I kept getting confused.

It sounds like the next IIDX release has gone out...wonder when Round 1 will be getting it.

Apparently IIDX updates are done through a USB stick, unlike other games which receive online updates. So it might take a bit.

Round1's Facebook mentioned today that they would be getting a new Konami music game (named Museca, I believe) in stores around December/January. The cabinet looks interesting, and I'm assuming this will have e-amuse support, given Konami.

Looking at the Sound Voltex website, playing it can currently earn progress toward unlocking a couple songs on Pendual/Copula. But this will stop on the 30th (it may be revived later, as this also was available for a couple weeks in August).

IIDX 23 Copula is at Round1.

==
Also, there is a new song unlock for Gitadora that requires you to play 4 specific songs that are revealed at the end of each gameplay session in a fast-scrolling window.

The 4 songs are (I put version number to help you find them more easily...I think the versions are correct)

Version GFDM V5: Tanbo no Ta (田んぼの田)
GFDM V6: Jounetsu Fun Fun! (情熱 fun! fun!)
Gitadora: Haunted Maid Lunch (ホーンテッド★メイドランチ)
Gitadora Tri-Boost: Meta Meta Himawari Punch (めた・メタ?ひまわり*パンチ)

Of course, good luck finding some of those if your kanji recognition skills are a bit subpar or you are unfamiliar with some of the songs.  but you should be able to find the song album art online somewhere if needed...

UPDATE: oh, you could also search by title, by character section, which would be:
Tanbo no Ta: Search by た
Jounetsu Fun!Fun!: Search by さ
Haunted maid Lunch: Search by は
Meta meta: Search by ま

So we were one of the stores to actually get Copula as well? That's awesome news since I plan on heading up to Tukwila on payday.

One would think that all of the Round1 locations will eventually be upgraded, as I assume Pendual will lose e-amuse support eventually (at which point the game would no longer start up).

A Shop Original course was enabled on both machines tonight, though with Expert mode missing, I don't think there's a way to actually play it (I tried a few different things on Mode Select, where the original course is displayed, but nothing seemed to work).

The guy who activated the course left it on the default (.59, Genom Screams, Clione and 5.1.1, in that order), but said that they're open to suggestions on it.

The Pop'N Music was down tonight; I asked at the front out of curiosity and the clerk there said they'd been having issues with the machine and it may be on it's last legs.

Sounds like the management is looking into possibility of replacing the current Pop'N with another one, however.

EDIT: looks like the PopN is back in operation for now.

EDIT2: Looks like it is going up and down all the time...it is also a PopN Music 20 Fantasia now if that matters to anyone.

I don't know, I'm just the guy playing Drummania.

I feel like this thread is turning into the PopN music report, but when i went to Round1 yesterday the Fantasista or whatever it is called, was up and running...

BTW there is a new 4-song unlock for Gitadora right now (I don't really bother to explain the unlocks that are just "play a bunch of songs, unlock x") :

the 4 songs you have to play are:
Kiruto / キルト (Search under "か")
Say
Kotatsu to Mikan / こたつとみかん (Search under "か")
Fuyuiro / 冬色 (search under "は”)

The song you get for this, Arx Tyranni, is a pretty fun (but kind of straightforward) operatic rock by Akhuta.

There is another unlock challenge right now which is basically a playathon (play a lot) for a new Asaki song called Children of the Sun / 太陽の子 .  That one was a nice technical song and pretty good sound to it, I thought.  Asaki songs kind of blend together after a while though...

It changed to 20 at some point during the machine troubles, apparently. Granted, I haven't seen it actually running that version, but I haven't been down to Round1 for awhile.

I could be wrong, but my impression was the version change from 19 to 20 was in part BECAUSE of the machine troubles.  But that's just what I gathered from the staff there.  I don't really play PopN so I didn't ask much more than that.

Speaking of the machine staff, the same guy who asked me about the new machine placement, asked me if I wanted him to add headphone jacks to the Gitadora machines.  I told him I didn't really know if it would be a good idea but I would certainly try it out...I think my right arm would get tangled up in the cord heh.

Is anyone else actually interested in added a headset outlet for the Gitadora?  Well in either case, seems like they might do it...

Headphone amp on drummania is probably overkill. On the guitar... maybe?

Also... since the upgrade to Fantasia it's near impossible to get an EXTRA STAGE without e-amuse Sad

A headphone amp for GF would be awesome as the game is practically inaudible. DM should probably just be turned up a bit instead.
