Re: [Location] Power Play, new arcade in Bellevue, WA - PIU:Pro Dedicab

I'll have to see what Jon thinks, but he's been talking to the management about the two of us running an air hockey tournament. Maybe while we're working those details out with them, we can bring your machine up, as well. ITG has the benefit of being an American game, not an import, so it looks more credible to a classy place like PP.

Heck, I wonder if we shouldn't just direct the staff at PP to this thread.

I would so look cuter than her if I could find a pair of UGGs that would fit me.

Re: [Location] Power Play, new arcade in Bellevue, WA - PIU:Pro Dedicab

It should be noted that even though as a policy I prefer Pump, I would play  the crap out of an R21 ITG machine if it were there, as would Tony. Having an arcade walking distance from my house is, of course, already awesome enough, but yeah... throw some ITG in there and HECK YES.
Agreed. I love Pump but more options never hurt! And it's nice to keep the adrenaline going when someone else is playing.

Re: [Location] Power Play, new arcade in Bellevue, WA - PIU:Pro Dedicab

I probably won't be a "regular" at Power Play. As such, if Laura or Jon start to get to know the staff, drop the suggestion if you feel the timing is right. Don't forget to stress that an ITG 2 dedicab is still the #1 most popular dance system in the US.

IMO our machine is in great shape and would look great in Power Play. I would buy brand new decal graphics for the whole machine and replace the USB ports (just to make certain they're new and work great). The machine will look as good as new.

Power Play might not be as far north as I'd like it to be, but if I could get some cash back from my machine and make it available to the public, then I don't mind it being in Bellevue.

Re: [Location] Power Play, new arcade in Bellevue, WA - PIU:Pro Dedicab

I have severe doubts that they don't own their own machines, since they have repair staff able to do things like patch machines as necessary.  As such, private machiens would probably not be a problem for that reason.  However, since they aim to open locations around the country, they're probably going to be like Gameworks and generally try to abide by a rule to the effect of "this game will be in at least x% of our locations" when they buy things, so private stuff might be an issue for that reason.  It would never hurt to ask, but I have severe doubts it would work out.

Re: [Location] Power Play, new arcade in Bellevue, WA - PIU:Pro Dedicab

I had actually talked to Tony about asking if they would be interested in our Pop'n Music, but we both agreed the likelihood that they'd want something like that, as opposed to a nice, newer ITG is pretty low - the Pop'n has clearly been around the block, hanging out in Japanese arcades and whatnot.

It's looking more and more like I'm going to PP from about 6-9, so I hope to see some of you there!

I don't see why it would be highly unlikely if we're giving them ways to make money.

I have no clue if they're using a distributor or doing it all independently; someone should check the machines for stickers that might tell us... but if it's all independent, they might be willing to add a few "quality" machines.

Re: [Location] Power Play, new arcade in Bellevue, WA - PIU:Pro Dedicab

If anyone gets friendly with the owners/managment of this place and they seem interested in putting in an In the Groove 2 dedicab, have them talk to me about it. I'd love to put it in a nicer facility like this where everyone can play it and I (and my partners) could make a few bucks off it.

I know this idea is HIGHLY unlikely, given the nature of this arcade, but I felt it'd be worth throwing that out there.

I was planning on going tonight since I'm leaving for California for four days tomorrow, but my I decided to use the treadmill instead of the elliptical at the gym yesterday and now my right knee could use a break.

Assuming I'm feeling okay tomorrow (I've been fighting something off for DAYS,) I'll probably be heading to Power Play for several hours. Anyone interested in joining me?

Re: [Location] Power Play, new arcade in Bellevue, WA - PIU:Pro Dedicab

To elaborate on that last post, the most recent batches of machines are glitching, and Power Play won't install r6 until they get their the stuff already on the way from Andamiro (which should hopefully include r6, or we have to convince them it's okay to install it).
Well, they're not going to be able to install the Encore song pack without installing at least r5, so hopefully they go all the way. Smiley

Re: [Location] Power Play, new arcade in Bellevue, WA - PIU:Pro Dedicab

To be honest, I'm pretty sure convincing them to install it would be easy if we got, say, Chris Foy or Kyle Ward to show up. "Hey, my name's in the credits, so this is okay, right?"

It's too bad they don't have ITG 2, or else half the people who use this site would be in the credits. Wink

@Laura: Don't forget that he gave us both a free shot at the laser maze for coming to him and trying to help out.
So did you guys actually try it? If so, how was it?

@Laura: Don't forget that he gave us both a free shot at the laser maze for coming to him and trying to help out.  So far, I am very impressed with the level of drive the staff seems to have.  I hate to admit that it's hard to draw conclusions since this is day 3, because I would really like to see this place succeed and prove that Bill is not a strict requirement for not going out of business.  Of course, free games for reporting things and actually caring is probably trademarked by Masterman Vending, so we'll see how this pans out.

Additionally, he told us that this place is a test run before they open more alongside Lucky Strikes around the country.

Re: [Location] Power Play, new arcade in Bellevue, WA - PIU:Pro Dedicab

Similarly to you, Nekura, I'm trying to reacquaint myself with 5 panel.

I'll actually probably be going to Power Play daily for the next while, but that's mainly because it's three blocks from my apartment and I used to take a one to two mile walk every night, which I can't do right now because it is allergy season and Bellevue, despite being quite developed, still has enough trees to make walking outside very difficult for me. This won't interfere with my ACME trips at all, though - I go to ACME for long marathons of dance gaming, whereas I see Power Play as a more viable option for short (3-4 sets) visits where I would previously just have not gone anywhere.

I hope to keep running into some of you guys. In fact, if people do actually make Pump at Power Play a regular occurrence, I would be happy to host get-togethers at my place before or afterwards.

Re: [Location] Power Play, new arcade in Bellevue, WA - PIU:Pro Dedicab

So, as it turns out, they've already registered for the website and are getting all of the new content sent to them. The manager was very nice and told me that he would be happy to install the patch, but he wants to do everything directly through Andamiro without our involvement because apparently the machine came with a warranty which involves free parts for a year that he's concerned about voiding. Rather than be a douche and go on about how I know people involved in making this game and therefore it wouldn't really be a risk for him, I thanked him for his help and was just astonished that there's a WARRANTY that includes FREE PARTS FOR A YEAR. Really? Sensors are EXPENSIVE; that's so useful!
Wow, that's awesome AND unexpected on all fronts. Hopefully it'll be up to date when I come back from vacation!

Keby, as I said earlier the dress code isn't really enforced, at least early in the day. Dress shirts definitely aren't required, and it seems like you can get away with athletic shorts as well. I've already gone both yesterday and today and plan to keep that up (with the exception of this coming weekend, since I'm going on a birthday vacation of sorts in California) until I feel comfortable with Pump, then I'm gonna alternate between Acme and here.

Re: [Location] Power Play, new arcade in Bellevue, WA - PIU:Pro Dedicab

I need to check this place out sometime. I want to get better at 5 panel, but this place just doesn't seem like an arcade to frequent do to dress requirements. I'm not saying that I'll NEVER come here because of that, but I don't think sweating buckets in nice pants and a dress shirt is something the people here want to see haha.

Oh well. Do any of you guys plan on going back anytime soon?
