Stopped by on Friday to satisfy my Drummania itch.  Drummania is in excellent condition, thanks again Bill for keeping it that way!

Narrows now has a Pop'n Music 13 here for .50/play!

How long has it been there for? Just came by randomly today and was pleasantly surprised with this new addition. Will pump more money into it so it doesn't go away Grin

edit: Guess I'll stop lurking with this post. Howdy all!

Hey, I gotta get that side art to ya, Bill. That is, if you still want it. It just arrived a couple of days ago!

Hey EPS! Good to see you here! Cheesy

Pop N has only been at Narrows about a week now.  It is the cabinet from Acme, where it was getting no love.

At Kevin, sure, if you happen to down this way, that would be cool, THX

Bill, I'm just curious. Does Narrows really get that much more action than Acme? Or are you just changing things up for the heck of it?

Changing things for the heck of it.  Nice to have movement so people see a new face when coming in.  :-)

I still prefer the setup, atmosphere, and staff at Narrows over ACME. It just feels more "arcadey" to me (might be the neon space wall decals?)
But now that I've moved from Tacoma to Renton it's just tough to get down there...
Good to know Narrows is still getting the love.  I'll try to drop by and play on the DM 10th sometime soon.

Hello~
I'm new here.  I just found out recently that Narrows Plaza has a Pop'n Machine, and my only opportunities of ever playing any Pop'n are driving all the way to Gameworks or FreePlaying it at Sakuracon every year. I've always wanted to get back into an arcade scene of some kind too for a really long while, so it's nice to see stuff like Initial D, Drummania, and Pop'n so close to where I live.

Seems like arcades (Well, arcades with games I really prefer playing) mostly thrive in Cali and Hawaii now as far as North America is concerned, so it's nice to see some actual asian arcade music games available in this state that aren't just DDR or its variants.  Grin

I also noticed the InTheGroove machine and was wondering if it supported custom songs.  I heard from somewhere a long, long time ago that this was actually possible on some ITG cabinets.  Does this particular ITG allow for custom songs to be loaded and played?

If it does support that function, can someone walk me through how to go about doing that? To be honest, I never really played ITG.  Only DDR, and I haven't even played DDR in years so I've been pretty out of it.  Lips sealed I mostly play IIDX, Pop'n, DJ Max, and hopefully Jubeat Plus in a couple days when it's released on the iPad.

Thanks for the help!

(Here's hoping that they get Jubeat, DJ Max Technika or a IIDX game too.   Smiley )

Hey! Good to see some new people around! It's funny that you use the name Pantsu because there used to be a player from around here who used that name. Of course, I'm pretty sure you're not the same person.
This is a good guide for ITG custom songs. The machine at Narrows was a prototype upgrade, so it has the USB ports on the right side of the machine on the speaker cabinet thing. The process is still the same, however. If my memory serves me correctly, that machine's running R21 right now. I had meant to fix that for a long time but I just can't find the time to get down to Tacoma anymore. Maybe once my college applications are submitted. As I mentioned above, I also have the side speaker pops for Pop'n Music 13 and I will bring them down if I do get the chance.

Awesome, thanks for the guide! Cheesy
By the way, does it matter how I format my USB drive? FAT, FAT32, NTFS, etc.?

Yeah, I thought there was someone else called Pantsu here...heh, funny.

If you want to make sure your Stepmania songs are R21 compliant, I'd give this program a shot. It converts MP3 to OGG, removes banners and bgs, and basically makes it everything it needs to be to function properly on a ITG2 r21 machine.

Hey everybody,

It's been a while.  How are the pads holding up at Narrows?  Have they imported ITG3 or OpenITG like they did at Acme?
I'm definitely looking forward to playing with the regulars again when I return in spring 2012.

The pads are alright and no it's the same r21 ITG2. Most people play at Acme nowadays. I never see regulars at Narrows so the dance machines never get much love unfortunately.

But where else can you play Pop N 13 for only a quarter?  Yes, the price has dropped to just a quarter if anyone is interested.
