Oh ya i have been here before! I was also shocked about the pad situation  :?

And if i am not mistaken i do believe that Adam Cohen and some of the IHYD members have some high scores on there Smiley

I stopped in here today. Extreme is still in the corner.

1P: left had a CRACKED arrow, and the right sensor missed a step every 1/100; but the 2P side was really good minus normal dirt from use. The glass in front of the screen is foggy on the top corners, but the screen below is good condition.

3 tokens for 3 songs; 5 tokens for $1

There was a tech there when I was playing who said he'd order a replacement for that arrow. Pretty friendly guy too.

There's a beaten up DDR Extreme machine here that you can play for 3 tokens/3 songs. You get 30 tokens for a $5 bill, so it's effectively $.50 per game. Unfortunately the 1P side with left arrow is smashed in and the speakers for the left side are dead. I have personally rearranged the sensors on the 2P side and am doing what I can to keep it alive. It's not great, but at .50/set, it's the best I've found in the northern areas.

Note: I like playing here enough that I'm trying to buy a replacement arrow for the cracked 1PLeft arrow. I'll post it here if/when I replace it.

Suko, there was a hidden topic for this place, so I merged it with your new post and updated the first post. Smiley

If you could quickly rate the locations to update the ratings on the forum, that would be greatly appreciated too!

I forgot to update the condition of the machine.

Yours truly opened up the pads about 2 months back and moved some sensors around and slid some business cards under the brackets to vastly improve the right side. It's not perfect, but I'd give the 2P side a 7.5/10 for a DDR Extreme pad. I haven't yet tinkered with the 1P side yet, but I intend to the next time the place is empty and isn't swarming with people. They did replace the smashed-in arrow and fixed the left side speakers though. I'd give the 1P side a 6/10.

I have AAA'd on both sides, but I also don't use the bar on PA attempts and I'm heavier than most of you, so I'm sure that your experiences will vary.

Ronnie, I've met you a few times while I've been there playing. It's nice to see ya posting here.

Up arrow on the 1P side is in serious need of new sensors and the entire pads could afford to be cleaned. If that's not possible, I would highly suggest them getting 8 new sensors to replace all the inner sensors with. Doing this will make this the second best Extreme machine in the region.

If they want some help replacing the sensors or cleaning the pad, I'm happy to volunteer my services. I own a machine and most people on this site will vouch that I know what I'm doing. It's happened more than twice when I've been able to get a machine back up to functioning order in the middle of a tournament simply by switching sensors around into ideal locations.

Edit: It also sounds like the speakers might be dying. I know on some songs, the vocals sound tingy and distorted. I can't think of anything specific off the top of my head, but the next time I notice it, I'll try to remember the song so you can check it for yourself.

I was just practicing a bit on the cabinet there earlier tonight.

Some of pad misses during faster songs and crossovers were frustrating, but it's still overall in much better condition than the Extreme right by my place at TechCityBowl :]

Alrighty. I'll see if I can get over there to meet with ya on Friday.

Btw, I was there yesterday with Tom & Dan and the down arrow on the 1P side froze up for 9 steps on HVAM and a few other more intense charts. They need to lube all four brackets on that arrow and clean it out, or else I have a feeling that it will continue to be problematic.

Keep in mind, I was still able to get two new AAAs on that side too, so it's not unplayable. It just seem sporadic and happened two or three times over the course of about 2.5 hours.

ok, i found out that the owner and his son aren't the ones that take care of it, and that its done by someone else they know, so i still left them a note about it, but there might be another problem for tomorrow, they were both on vacation this week and not sure when they would be back, but if they're not back already, then there will be no tokens to get from them cause they're the only ones that have keys to get em and the machine was empty tonight, so if it still is empty tomorrow, i might just make a quick run to chuck-e-cheese and get some tokens from them if they still have the same kind as everygreen.

Ronnie, I might not make it tonight 'cause my home PC is flippin' out and it's network connection is unstable as a Janga tower. I'm going to have to try and fix this ASAP.

Let me know what happens with the token machine though. If they're out, that'll change my DDR plans for this weekend.

Talk about awesome. Rain & I went to Evergreen last night and just happened to meet a bunch of players there. Chris, Zack, and Eric, it was nice getting to meet you all (again). I hope to see all of you around there some more.

Note about the machine's condition:
The 2P side is nearly flawless. It could use a few sensors, but the playability is unaffected. The 1P side has improved a lot, but the Right arrow is extremely weak. It only has two functioning sensors (the inner and outer), but it was dropping holds, even when I was firmly standing on the both arrows during holds. It's so close to being a great-functioning machine that it's driving me nuts. If it's not better in a week or so I might open up the pads and try to make it as playable as possible.

That is all.
