Re: [Arcade] Evergreen Lanes - Everett, WA

I was just practicing a bit on the cabinet there earlier tonight.

Some of pad misses during faster songs and crossovers were frustrating, but it's still overall in much better condition than the Extreme right by my place at TechCityBowl :]

Ronnie, I've met you a few times while I've been there playing. It's nice to see ya posting here.

Up arrow on the 1P side is in serious need of new sensors and the entire pads could afford to be cleaned. If that's not possible, I would highly suggest them getting 8 new sensors to replace all the inner sensors with. Doing this will make this the second best Extreme machine in the region.

If they want some help replacing the sensors or cleaning the pad, I'm happy to volunteer my services. I own a machine and most people on this site will vouch that I know what I'm doing. It's happened more than twice when I've been able to get a machine back up to functioning order in the middle of a tournament simply by switching sensors around into ideal locations.

Edit: It also sounds like the speakers might be dying. I know on some songs, the vocals sound tingy and distorted. I can't think of anything specific off the top of my head, but the next time I notice it, I'll try to remember the song so you can check it for yourself.

Re: [Arcade] Evergreen Lanes - Everett, WA

I forgot to update the condition of the machine.

Yours truly opened up the pads about 2 months back and moved some sensors around and slid some business cards under the brackets to vastly improve the right side. It's not perfect, but I'd give the 2P side a 7.5/10 for a DDR Extreme pad. I haven't yet tinkered with the 1P side yet, but I intend to the next time the place is empty and isn't swarming with people. They did replace the smashed-in arrow and fixed the left side speakers though. I'd give the 1P side a 6/10.

I have AAA'd on both sides, but I also don't use the bar on PA attempts and I'm heavier than most of you, so I'm sure that your experiences will vary.

Re: [Location] Evergreen Lanes - Everett, WA

Suko, there was a hidden topic for this place, so I merged it with your new post and updated the first post. Smiley

If you could quickly rate the locations to update the ratings on the forum, that would be greatly appreciated too!

There's a beaten up DDR Extreme machine here that you can play for 3 tokens/3 songs. You get 30 tokens for a $5 bill, so it's effectively $.50 per game. Unfortunately the 1P side with left arrow is smashed in and the speakers for the left side are dead. I have personally rearranged the sensors on the 2P side and am doing what I can to keep it alive. It's not great, but at .50/set, it's the best I've found in the northern areas.

Note: I like playing here enough that I'm trying to buy a replacement arrow for the cracked 1PLeft arrow. I'll post it here if/when I replace it.

Re: Location: Evergreen Lanes - Everett, WA

I stopped in here today. Extreme is still in the corner.

1P: left had a CRACKED arrow, and the right sensor missed a step every 1/100; but the 2P side was really good minus normal dirt from use. The glass in front of the screen is foggy on the top corners, but the screen below is good condition.

3 tokens for 3 songs; 5 tokens for $1

There was a tech there when I was playing who said he'd order a replacement for that arrow. Pretty friendly guy too.
