Why is the narrows thread locked?  Also whats up with APHR again?
It looks like APHR locked the thread before deleting his account.
You can feel free to post in Narrow's main thread about the project if you'd like, but since it doesn't have to do with Acme please keep it out of this thread.

Well my original question still stands regardless of the thread.  Just wanna know the process they are  using to mod the pads.  APHR said the pad mod is custom and they didnt follow a guide.

DDR UPDATE/REQUEST:

BLueSS reported difficulty holding freezes on DDR, which is now the second or third time that's been reported. I plan to rotate some sensors as soon as I get back from my trip next week, but I was wondering if you guys could try to play some freeze heavy songs for me this week and let me know which arrows are giving problems? Maybe we could also plan to have a meetup on Thursday night next week after I tweak them so you guys could test and give me feedback? Smiley

Thot Catalog-

Chris was not being passive aggressive about the situation. He believes Laura and Tony will be able to handle everything. They have been in the community a very long time. I wouldn't read between the lines.

you realize he was posting in the narrows thread? so let's examine what exactly went on here.

a few people ask a simple question about mods that pertain to aphr's immediate work at narrows. he declines and directs everyone to ask tony or laura, which doesn't make any sense. they do not have anything to do with the situation at narrows and can only speak for the pads/situation at acme. you can easily interpret this as passive aggressive: tony and laura are obviously not the ones handling the situation at narrows, so any attempt to redirect this to them is unproductive at the very least... especially given the fact that he never responded to the questions that he could immediately answer given the modding state of the 1p side pads.

Yeah whatever though Im not trippin' about him anymore lol

I used some thin foam padding from a craft shop and it helps a bit but the brackets become an issue if I do more than one layer.  Like I dont want them flush but they are pretty worn so the little bit helps.  Kinda want to do the same to the local ddr since its probably been 5-6 years since it was cleaned and the panels are pretty bad.

Bauregaurd mentioned in the new Narrows Project thread that he'll try to get info about how they're modding it (with pics) up soon.

I'll get home soon and write a little guide here on how Chris and Abbye (and now Nick and I) mod the pads. Seriously, though, everybody quit the annoying fusses and do not try to smart-ass your way into winning an argument. If you believe you were a success or correct, there's no need for anyone to continue arguing.

Just a little note.

Nobody is arguing right now that I can see.  I honestly dont see why APHR left again and locked the thread and I really dont even care anymore.  He is the source of the drama here anyway.

That aside I want to keep on topic somewhat and ask if the piu cab is still at acme?  I have some vacation time I need to use and seattle area is an option

Kevin, holy shit broski you have def. put in some work with your FA and stamina. One last thing..whats with that one thread saying {Tournament} Ifc.NiNe? I'm not sure if I even know you with all these name changes...I guess if you are calling me out then ok...I have no issue with this just give me a location and we can work out sets and date

Hey guys!

Last night I went and rotated some sensors on the DDR X3 vs 2nd Mix to hopefully help with dropped freezes that were being reported by a couple of the lighter players. I tested it out with a set of stuff like Air and Silent Hill 3rd Christmas Mix and made sure not to step very hard, and I still didn't have any problems. However, I'd really like you to let me know how it is.

Also, I should have a BUNCH of e-amuse cards arriving today, and was thinking maybe we could have a DDR meetup at ACME tomorrow night so you guys can let me know how the sensors are and buy cards in preparation for the arrival of e-amuse if that's something you're interested in? More information on cards can be found here: http://www.pnwbemani.net/western-wa/the-official-e-amuse-card-faqbuy-them-here-thread/msg31631/#new

Finally made my way back since last time I complained about doubles - didn't have any issues with the pads whatsoever (other than that they could really use brackets, but I guess they're lost?). No issues playing double charts, and the DDR machine is really nice now too!

Also, someone should /really/ take walkin the dog off the machine. Something tells me it wouldn't go over great with management if people made a habit of playing it.

Hi guys!

A couple of things:

1. E-amuse cards are IN. I will be at ACME for a few hours tonight, and if you want to buy a card, you can come find me between 8:30 and 10. The readers are being shipped from Japan right now, so it should only be a couple of weeks before DDR finally has e-amuse support!

2. I fixed a coin jam on the 2p side of DDR and as of two days ago the arrow sensitivity is perfect.

3. I am going out of town for a few days later in the week, but for when I get back, I've heard a lot of discussion about people wanting the brackets put back on ITG, so I made a poll, which is located here. If we decide to put the brackets back on, I have to see if I can figure out where they're located, but if I can't, Andamiro still makes brackets I can buy. It'll just take a little while to receive them.

FOR THE RECORD: I genuinely am not trying to undermine APHR's work here. I just want to do what the majority of the community wants. I hope the stamina players will come and vote too!

Hey Laura, Chris and I have all of the corner brackets plus all the screws and bolts that were removed. We live 5 minutes from Bill's shop so we can drop them off with him.

Okay, just an FYI for everyone and forgive me if I over-dramatize the story below:

To sum it up the best I can,
Today, as I was playing ITG, someone behind me (young looking face, but was smoking cigarettes, so possibly a very young adult) decided it was funny to kick my legs while I was streaming at about 166BPM. Pretty dangerous because my life went down and dangerous in general because I almost fucking fell forward but I held the bar.

I told him to stop at first, when he was simply placing his foot on the pads. He persisted and kicked my legs.
I stopped and failed my first song and proceeded to threaten to call the security and they run off like that.

I saw them run across the street to the mall and sort of just stall there until the security guard and I left their sight.

This is just a warning to all of you in case something like this happens to you.

I almost wanted to retaliate and kick back, but please refrain from doing this. If it happens, go get security right away, don't even mention it, because it will result in the offenders running away.

I was technically a victim of assault today, and shit can get serious just from this. I could've pressed charges but I didn't because honestly I didn't have time, but if it happens, you have the ability to do so.

This is in no way respectful to other guests on this property or just anywhere.

Worst part is, those guys probably weren't drunk. Probably just stupid kids.

Idiots should be more careful about putting their feet on the panels, because we're not really watching our feet, and could "accidentally" stomp on them several times before they could get away.    Wink

Wonder if he was hoping you'd take a swing at him so he could justify fighting.  Hard to say how people like that think.

I mostly only see young kids wander onto the pad, and haven't had a problem with older ones doing it.

Rose: I would really appreciate that - it'd probably feel good just having the brackets all in one place, even if the vote ends up resulting in us not putting them back on. Thank you so much! Smiley

RE what happened to Kevin: I am still really sorry that this happened, especially since it was right before I showed up at ACME last night. This kind of stuff makes me ANGRY, and I know that sometimes we all have our differences regarding preferred dance game, playstyle, etc., but if anyone hurts any of my dance game bros for any reason I will be the first to stand up for you. Know that. I'm not gonna start anything stupid myself, but if someone is insistent upon getting physical with dance game players, I am HAPPY to step in and restrain them to the best of my ability.

Everyone else: Please make sure to vote about the brackets on the ACME cabinet. I REALLY don't want to step on any toes here, and I want to make sure all of the relevant voices are heard.

I also want to clarify what I mean by "relevant." Tacoma players, you guys get just as much of a say in this as anyone else, even if it's not your home cabinet anymore. My goal is not to oust you. Olympia and maybe even Portland players, if you come here a lot and play, I'd even consider you guys relevant. If you don't live in Western Washington OR visit ACME a lot, move along here. Smiley

Yeah. I threatened to call the security instead of acting myself because that would constitute a fair fight than just an assault.

Once I said "I'm getting security," they ran off like that.

They weren't Renton hoodrats, though, as an FYI. Just some dorky chubby white kid with some douchey looking friends who thought it was funny he did that.

Vick said I could've called the police and to have them press charges.

Hey all,

I'm sure some of you have met me, this is Chris.  I play ITG at ACME usually on Wednesdays or the weekends.  I've never posted here before, but I noticed a lot of activity in the community lately and wanted to throw in my 2 (well 3) cents.

First cent: No Fail!
If possible, I'd like to turn on no fail mode on the ITG machine at ACME.  The community I used to play with at Penn State did this and it was a massive improvement.  No more waiting until final song to play that hard song you wanted to try.  No more being afraid to try doubles because you are worried you'll fail.  Also this will promote a healthier community attitude as you are no longer secretly thinking "Man I hope he will fail so I get to play my set sooner" (Admit it; everyone does it, especially when there are long lines).

Second cent: Joint Premium!
We can already play doubles for 1 credit, why can't we play 2 player for one credit?  This will incentive people to play with a partner, which means less waiting for your turn!  I always hate it when there are a bunch of people playing and they all just play 1 player.  I understand sometimes people want to pick all hard songs or all easy songs, but in that case, you could be like "bro, mind if I jump on and flail around while you do hard stuff?  It won't cost you any extra and we'll both get to have fun!"  I know that you are running a business and have to make money, so if this isn't possible I understand.

Third (bonus!) cent: Couples charts
I know there are a few couple charts on the machine somewhere but I can't seem to find them.  I was wondering what the SOP for getting new packs added.  I have 3 wonderful couples packs that I would love to add to the machine if this is allowed.

Thanks for listening.  Don't feel obligated to do any of this, I just figured I'd throw out some of my suggestions.
