Interesting new rumor.

Supposedly the ODE wrote an article saying the arcade will be removed from the Break, due to noise during pool classes.  The closure of the arcade during those hours might be breach of contract?  The contract that I help negotiate didn't have a mention of this I don't think, but I know that we had Amusement Unlimited onboard for another year.

I haven't spoken to any officials to get any facts yet, but stay tuned.  This is something very disappointing to hear and the passiveness of the current manager is quite upsetting.

That might explain something.

I just started going to UO and it's sad to see the disappearance of the arcade where I hung out countless times on my Eugene trips (before ever living here). :/

It seems the ITG2 upgrade went to a fitness center in Springfield.
Still 50 cents for 3 songs.
5 dollars for a day pass to the center.

Regional Sports Center
200 S 32nd Street
Springfield, OR 97478

I have yet to play there, so I'll update you guys when I find out. It's a little over 4 miles from campus, bus routes pretty much to the intersection it's at so HEYYYY.

a warning that that particular ITG2 machine ended up breaking and got a hack-job fix.  Resultingly there's some power flow issues that will cause some of your hits to be sent to the machine very late (so if you hit in the fantastic window it could potentially turn into a Great or even a miss if it just completely misses your signal).  This happens enough within a single song that i find it impossible to triple or even double star stuff.

Is it a korean cab? (grounding issues)

That timing issue, if still present, is going to royally piss me off.

Was the Break's machine R21?

So 5 fdollarsjust to get in. Dang they should of put the itg2 in the movies 12 arcade since the mall already has 2 other extremes. Did the extreme go back to all that and more because that one was in pretty good condition. How is the machine at putters.

the break's machine was r21.  i put it on there. Smiley

The issue wasn't that it was a korean machine.  The issue was that at one point there was a problem with one of the pads that is apparently a problem that Tyler has had in the past with his machine, some loose something or other that i'm not sure about.  When AU went to fix it, they didn't have that knowledge and didn't do enough digging to find the source of the problem, so instead cut a bunch of wires and resoldered/rewired them.  That resoldering/rewire job "got the job done" in terms of making the machine function, but it also caused the present issue because some of the rewiring wasn't done right or broke something else or something.  But you'll notice that most of the weird timing issues and the screen fuzzing out is usually always in the same place.  I suspect that it has to do with how the pads are supposed to light up according to the chart, that some of those got messed up and end up interfering with each other.

I'm only assuming that it's the Break's old machine, I haven't made visual confirmation that they're one and the same. The assumption seems reasonable due to the small amount of ITG's in this area and that it's a local arcade distributor that owns Break's old machine and it's 50 cents a set.

The 5 bucks is kinda iffy, but if you play 10 sets it'll be the same cost as a dollar a set. Assuming there isn't a steady line of players (I highly doubt there would be at a gym), ten sets isn't unreasonable if you have the time.

I'll hit it up in the next few days, keep you folks posted.

I've played two sets on it summer of 06. The left side gave a couple BS's but the right was fine. If memory serves it's an old 5th mix cab upgrade but I could be completely wrong.

!!

That's something I'd make a trip for! Smiley

So Deep Polaris:

According to the location I found on google maps, the 41, 43, 95 and 95x should get you there. It's actually a short trip from downtown!

Yeah, I ended up taking the EmX down to Eugene Station and then took 41 as far as I could (couple blocks south, no biggie).

It's a decent machine, the Extreme was giving some BS and the pump pads weren't as sensitive as I'd like but it's a good Exceed.

How far does it take to get to putters from campus. Oh and is the machine censored.

it takes a few days if you go by armored tank because it's too heavy to go over the bridge on 99.  better to get a personal teleporter.  The anti-matter zones closest to putters dematerialize me about half a block away.

And i don't know what you mean by "censored".

Depends on time of day/day. It's about 4 miles from the Hamilton side of campus. Biking it kind of sucks just because of the bridge over 99 (shoulder=basically nonexistent). For busses, take EmX to Eugene Station and then take the 95. About 30-45 minutes bus, half that if you bike fast. Much faster if you drive, of course.

by censored i mean they block out songs like get this party started because they have cussing in them. Is putters extreme  better than the one at movies 12. That machine was in pretty good condition last time i played. I wonder where emu's old extreme went that machine was in excellent condition and au shouldn't leave it somewhere to rot.
