STAGE CLEARED!

Ground Kontrol, March 31st.  Those of us who are 17 or older or have a legal guardian with us or are too good to get carded will most definitely go see The 300 afterwards.

General Disclaimer: Nothin' illegal please.

Yes we are in the lead

I'm kind of bored of tilt (no offense Tilt Employee), and it's expensive. There are many points of interest by GK (Backspace for general hanging out, and Sushi Takahashi!! Saturday happens to be 1.25/plate for most sushi!! Anyone?)

I'm 100% cool with GK, Avalon, OR Milwaukie; I only voted for Milwaukie because I can get there easiest.

Tilt!'s a problem for me because I don't have a lot of money, but I'd be happy to do Tilt! as well.

Most likely, we'll go to GK.

you betcha

I guess Tilt isn't popular here because nobody wants to play anything other than ITG2 and that's too expensive to play for a while. I usually go every Saturday though because I enjoy KoF XI and SFIII 3rd Strike, but nobody other than zeppy here enjoys playing fighting games I guess  :\

Also keep in mind that GK kicks out minors after 7 PM.

I'M MOVING MY VOTE FROM MILWAUKIE WUNDERLAND TO AVALON, 'cause I don't want my vote to count for nothing.

So, scoreboard:
Milwaukie: 0
GK: 2
Avalon: 2
Tilt: 1

I think I might eliminate Milwaukie for this one; it's just not worth it for anyone who doesn't live in Milwaukie or Gladstone.

I'm voting for ground kontrol a second time, and I think this should happen soon.

I'm gonna reset the poll, because I don't want to have to keep track of all these votes.  I planned on eliminating Tilt! and Milwaukie from the beginning, actually. xP

AVALON VS. GROUND KONTROL GOGOGOGO!

nvm, I guess I can't edit the poll.

So I'll just tally up the votes.

It was apparently running fine when Phylicia went there about a week ago.

Hm. . . maybe we could call them and see if we could arrange to have it definitely running for the get-together?  Do you know why it was down?

An educated guess would be that it wasn't working. :]

The manager took part of the machine home apparently and is working on it. After this there will be no issues, he says.

Okay, so I'm assuming it will probably be up within the next 2-3 weeks at least?

Hell, if it's not working on the date we still have decided on, would everyone be okay with just switching it to Avalon?  Their machine's never out of order, 'cause then never repair it. Wink

hm.... I still think GK. that'd be more fun overall.

I like 'em both about the same.  GK doesn't have air hockey, DMX, or TD2, but Avalon's machines are (for the most part) in bad condition.  Also, I'd like to be able to go grab a bite to eat after the arcade, and I know of more good restaurants near Avalon than near GK. (in case you guys haven't noticed, eating is a primary interest of mine)

What would you guys think about Bi Gals for the PUI Pro Beta? Would mean coordinating rideshares, though.... we could meet at an arcade or something (GK, or Century 16 because that's more on the way to Big Al's). Big Al's also has air hockey and supernova.... and other stuff.

And what about a date? I'd probably prefer the weekend of the 31st.

I probably wouldn't be able to do Big Al's.  With the Avalon or GK, I can just go with my dad and a couple friends; maybe once I get to know everyone a little better, I might be able to go to Bi Gals, but not this time.

Also, GK and Avalon are more central.  Big Al's is about a 1 hour bike ride + a 1.25 hour bus ride + another 5 minute bike ride for me.

31st is fine with me though.

Hey all,

Just writing to let you know that DDR is finally back up and running at Ground Kontrol. We've fixed the issue that kept it from booting reliably and have also replaced the cracked P1 right left pad.

We apologize for the delays in bringing DDR back up to 100%. It took a while to determine exactly why the game was not booting up every time (and sometimes, not at all), and we had shipping delays that caused our replacement pad plexis to take over a month longer than anticipated.

For those of you who came down to GK anticipating a game of DDR only to be faced with an "out of order" sign, we sincerely apologize and hope you'll come back now that things are back to normal!

We hope to see you soon!

Thanks,

Art / GK

PS. Let us know how the game is playing and if you'd like to see any changes! Our contact email address is kontact@groundkontrol.com.

Supernobar costs a dollar at Bi Gals now. And it's still unpatched. And the pads are getting worse....

I think Ground Kontrol would be great because there's more things I want to play there than there is at Avalon.

Hey all. Hope to host your get-together once our DDR machine is back in order. Sorry about all of the trouble. Please see the other GK-related thread here for the details so far...

Thanks for supporting GK!

Quoting that post was hell, Wes. Smiley
Anyway, here's what I play at Avalon: Air Hockey, DMX, DDR (duh), GF 2nd (lame), TD2, PANIC PAAAAAAAARK!!!!!, and pinball.
More variety at Avalon, but both are equally satisfying for me.  GK packs a tougher punch on my wallet, but it's still cheaper than most places.
